CHRISTIAN SERVICE NEEDS YOUR HELP The Christian Service office purchases some of our food items from Second Harvest Food Bank to serve the needy in our community, however, they are not carrying nutritious items. We are asking for donations to provide these food items, like canned meat and fish, unsweetened cereals, vegetables and canned fruits, to our clients. Once again we thank you for your help and generosity and May God Bless You! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ FOR YOUR INFORMATION Periodically, and more so of late, we have had gypsies, usually a mother with a small child, seeking money from our parishioners after the weekend Masses. While we have given them food from our Christian Service Outreach (to which they are indifferent), what they want are monetary donations. It is a racket and they prey on parishioners good will. They have been circulating among parishes and other establishments seeking money. We ask that you do not respond to their solicitation for money so as not to encourage their return. It is important to say that we are not turning our backs to the poor; rather we do not wish to condone or encourage their manipulative and sometimes aggressive behavior which is a racket for collecting money. MARRIED COUPLES PLEASE JOIN US THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1ST All married couples are invited to join us Thursday September 1st for an evening of Living Catholic Marriage a series of topics to help husbands and wives communicate better and grow stronger in their faith. Prior to our meeting we will enjoy a potluck dinner. Come join us! For time and location, call Bob and Mary Dausch at 481-1102. CATHOLIC FAMILY LIFE WEBSITE www.familyandchurch.org

"What we give the poor, we lend to the Lord." - Sojourner Truth God, fill us with a desire to support those in our communities with the most need, even when doing so requires us to sacrifice. May we turn to you constantly to center us in a spirit of refreshment and abundance, rather than apathy or hardness of heart. Amen. - Sojourners Online 7/26/11 Join our Catholic Social Justice Ministry. Next meeting in September. MISCARRIAGE NEEDS LOVE AND SUPPORT Natural miscarriage is a tragedy that so many people misunderstand. They are not quite sure how to console a friend or relative who has suffered this loss. While there are no magic formulas, there is one fundamental truth that needs to stay front and center: a miscarriage is the loss of a child who is just as real and has just as much value as any other child of any age. A woman who has a miscarriage is a parent who lost a child, as is the father of the child as well. www.lifenews.com
