8.1 8.2 Sports Awards Nominations Online Cricket Gala Day Proposal (Amy Moran, Nichole Harris Nazareth) A proposition for a gala day was presented by Amy and Nicole who have made the suggestion in light of comments made by parents at the Soccer Gala Day. The proposal is for the carnival to be conducted in term 4 this year, possibly on grounds in the Albion Park, Oak Flats area. The information included in the meeting package outlines organisational details that could be used to facilitate such a day. Amy and Nicole wanted to open the concept up to the meeting for comment. John suggested that it may be worthwhile to offer this opportunity this year trial and evaluate how it goes. The philosophy of the day would be in keeping with other gala days and a no competition participation focus would underpin the event. This idea was well received by the chorum. John will work

out a date in term 4, create some nominations and offer for comment at the term 4 meeting. The day would be initially for year 5/6 students with a view to extending it to year 3/4. 8.3 PSSA Journal 2 (July 2004) points to note: Attached to meeting pack. John noted: The nominations being called for State Athletics Officials at the NSW PSSA Athletics Carnival; the individual nominations that are being offered for elite primary school aged students, and the disability criteria for state athletics carnivals, teachers who may have any questions regarding disability classifications or competitions should contact Kim Larsen at the CEO. Guidelines for the selection of diocesan teams Final Draft Included to assist convenors who run trials, the intention is for them to be included in the Journal. Sports coordinators are invited to provide feedback regarding these guidelines with a view to the guidelines being included in the next edition of the Journal.
