Location

Lampton College London (LCL) is located in the London borough of Hounslow in south-west London. The college is located directly opposite of the busy Hounslow Central Underground Station (the Piccadilly Line) and is very close to local bus stops. As such, LCL can offer easy access to the many social and cultural attractions of Central London and to Europes busiest airport, Heathrow. Indeed, famous London attractions e.g. the West End theatres, restaurants, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament can be visited through associated transport links. The town, which is an affluent suburb of London, is famous for its cafes, parks and busy shopping centres. There is a multicultural mix of people, including many international students. 03

Hounslow is just five miles away from Hampton Court, The home of Henry VIII, where the King Henry VIII was first crowned, famous Bushy park and the Twickenham Rugby Stadium is only a bus ride away. The new football stadium at Wembley can also be easily approach from the college. Central London is a short train/tube ride away and Heathrow is accessible by local bus or taxi and underground services. Many students spend their evenings and weekends exploring London and taking advantage of its famous museums, art galleries, shopping and theatres.

Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management - L7


This course is designed to give students a good understanding of the responsibilities of a manager and the techniques they will use to deal with different situations as well as the legal requirements within their role. It is articulated to an MBA so therefore entry requirements will cover both courses.

these will be held three times a year to coincide with MBA applications.

Awarding Body

University of Wales (UWIC) and Edge Hill University will accept students onto an MBA programme with 120 and 105 points credit respectively. Students will need to undertake the Research Methods Unit and a Dissertation.

We have three starting dates but will be able to have some flexibility. The starting dates are organised for MBA progression. These are September/October for June/July MBA, January start for September MBA and June start for January/February MBA. The length of the course should be 8 - 9 months subject to centre time table but cannot be less than 6 months after registration.

Students completing this course will usually work in Management or Administrative roles managing staff in a variety of different scenarios from small to large businesses.

Total Credit for the course is 120credit The students will receive two overall marks one for the unit exam/coursework and another for the Research project. Students will have to pass both sections.

Assessment

UWIC MBA students will spend 5 days at the University campus spread over a few months. University Edge Hill students will take the course either at the University Campus or at a London centre which has been approved by ATHE and Edge Hill University. We also submit students to University of Derby.

Location

For the Unit/exam/course work section the marks will be divided up as follows 30% for the final exam - This will be based on a case study with six questions covering all units. (Marked based on 100% and weighted down to 30%) 70% for the six (four core and two optional) unit exams/coursework/ discussion reports (Marked based on 100% then weighted down to 11.6% per unit) Each question will have equal marks therefore students who have not passed a particular unit exam/coursework etc can make up their marks on the final examination.

This will be undertaken by ATHE External Moderators at the centre during the course. This is to iron out any difficulties before it is too late. External Moderation will also take place at the end of the course normally a percentage of students at ATHE office.

External Moderation

50% is the pass mark for all units. The Research Project will be marked separately and students need to achieve 50% pass mark.

AUK or equivalent second class if fresh graduate or degree plus 2 years middle management experience. Anyone without a degree must have 4 - 5 years management experience. These entry qualifications will also cover the MBA progression. A normal three year degree will be required for progression to MA in Management. The Postgraduate programme is conducted in English and thus candidates are expected to have an acceptable TOEFL or IELTS score if they have not undertaken their previous studies in the language. Registration within 14 days of start is important as eligibility needs to be confirmed early on.

Advanced International Diploma in Travel & Tourism - L5


The ATHE International Diploma in Travel & Tourism aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international tourism industry. Students have to attend a course of study of not less than 450 hours and undergo On the Job Training (optional) of not less than 960 hours in an established travel agency.

Course Summary

We have universities including University of Wales (UWIC) and Edge Hill University that are willing to accept students onto the third year of their tourism studies degree after completing Advanced Level.

Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management - L7


Unlike some other occupations such as doctors or teachers, managers do not form a single homogenous group, they work in different ways and at many different levels in many different types of organizations. The Postgraduate Diploma in Tourism Management {PGDTM} revolves around the important role of Management by teaching students how to develop success at management level within the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.

Course Summary

Questions will be provided by ATHE on the day to the centre examination officer. The examination officer will be responsible to forward completed papers to ATHE immediately after examination. The examination will consist of 70% of the total marks, the other 30% being for the Project. Examinations will be held four times a year.

CEFR, is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries

Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. If you are coming to UK for at least a full academic year, it is recommended that you open a bank account. There are a variety of different banks in the UK and most campuses have an ATM on or near campus. Choose a bank that is easily accessible for you. Before opening an account, check whether money can be transferred into it from outside UK. To open a UK bank account you will need a letter from the International Student Advisor confirming that you are a full time student, as well as your passport. PRE-ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Accommodation:

We will be assisting students with Temporary Accommodation this can be arranged for the students upon request. The students must inform LCL at least two weeks in advance to ensure that temporary accommodation can be secured. The accommodation request form can be downloaded from this website. Please send the completed accommodation request form to at least two weeks prior to your departure to the UK The college will do its best to arrange accommodation near college premises for overseas students. The accommodation can be arranged in a hostel or private rooms in a shared house Furnished single room in a shared house of a local family for approximately 85 per week, some may charge for the following in addition: cleaning, change of bed linen, lighting, heating, water heating and breakfast.

Many students prefer to stay in single or shared rooms in a private flat or houses in London, therefore enabling them to have use of all the facilities for example the kitchen. The weekly rent for this type of accommodations may range from 65- 100 per week.

Once accommodation has been secured, students will be required to complete the international admission form (downloadable) and send it to the Admission Officer with an accompanying letter confirming that they consent to pay a security deposit (where required) and any advance rental payments one month, in advance, upon arrival in UK. This form will also require the consent of the parents of the student. Note: All types of accommodation will be arranged through local property agent.

Here at LCL we will be providing all students on a case by case help and assistance, to not only become a member of our college culture once in operation, but to also integrate with British society as a whole. Once LCL is fully operational we will have active members of our team who can provide British Life Skills training. This will include not only how to register for the local dentist, but to also give the students skills on how to integrate within the community.

At Lampton College London we maintain a library that includes syllabus books and other study materials for all the courses that we will offer. Students of LCL will also have access to eBooks through extra computers available inside College Library; In addition to these the library also has a good collection of books on general topics and fictional novels.

A photocopier is located in the library which can only be used by the students if you have paid and obtained credit. You are allowed to use the photocopier for private purposes upon payment of three pence per page. Otherwise, if you need to copy notes or course materials you and o so free of charge once having obtained permission from your course lecturer. Similarly if you need to print something out from a computer you will need to pay five pence per page and request a lecturer in the staff room to allow you to use their computer for printing purpose.

Making an offer

On receipt of the tuition fee deposit, the HR office will send a CAS (Certificate of Acceptance of Study) to support the students visa Application in their own country. We will email this to the agent for the final checking prior to posting.

Student Refund Policy

As an international student (outside EU/EEA), the applicants will need to be accepted by the British Embassies/visa offices before coming to study in the UK. Lampton College London endeavors to do all it can to prepare students for securing this opportunity. Nevertheless, there are a small number of applicants who do not meet the necessary requirements. These students can be refused their Tier 4 Visas due to variety of reasons. Therefore, it is necessary for us to establish a refund policy. This is designed to minimize the financial losses of legitimate students, whose visa applications were not successful.

In the event of a student Visa being rejected from the British Embassy, Lampton College will refund the full Tuition fees, excluding an administration cost of one hundred and fifty pounds. Part of the Visa application is assessed on the students financial capability. Therefore, if a student visa is rejected due to their financial position then the College will refund the above amount within 90 days. If an application is rejected for a reason other than the College will refund the above amount within 90 days. If an application is rejected for a reason other than the students financial competency then the refund period will be 45 days from when the college is notified.

LCL may reserve the right to withhold the full amount paid on behalf of the student: If a student obtains a Tier 4 student visa on any of our programmes, and cancels his/her admission or never enrolled. If a student visa was rejected due to a forged/false representation of documents. Deferment of session/intake before or after a CAS has been assigned. If a student stops attending the College after the commencement of the course. If the student leaves the course before its completion. If a student is suspended by the College because of non-compliance of any of his/her visa conditions (please also read student code of conduct). LCL does not take responsibility for any refund being paid to external agents or consultants, the student needs to lodge an appeal. The fees would be refunded once the college receives documentary evidence of the appeal dismissed. Any possible concerns should be brought to the Colleges attention.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and the students must agree to abide to the jurisdiction of the English Courts. The Terms and Conditions are reviewed by LCL from time to time. There is no guarantee that the conditions for payment or refund of fees will remain the same from year to year. All students must comply with the current Terms and Conditions. LCL reserves the right to change or amend the Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice.

Laws and Jurisdiction

All international students are liable to pay their course fees before enrolment in Lampton College London, in all cases at least an initial deposit of 50% of their first year course fees is required in order to confirm enrolment or issuing a Confirmation of Acceptance (CAS). The outstanding fees can be paid on arrival at the college campus after a Tier 4 Visa has been granted by British High Commission in relevant Countries. In addition, all Students would require pay an Exam.fee, any registration fee to External Body, Certificate fee. All International students are advised not to make any payments to Agents as Lampton College will not take any liability later date. Student already in UK can pay either half of their course fees or full course fees and may have a discount at the time of enrolment. An installment plan can be agreed between student and College for the Fee student still owe to pay.

1.1. Lampton College (hereafter referred to as College or The College or LAMPTON COLLEGE) is registered as a private limited company in England and Wales No.7240893 as a Lampton College London UK ltd is a provider of accountancy, business management, travel & tourism, hospitality management, health and Social care English languages and other supplementary courses (hereafter referred to as Course(s) or "The Course(s)) to students. 1.2. By registering and enrolling on the courses, students agree to be legally bound by these present terms and conditions, and as modified from time to time.

3.3. If the application form is signed on behalf of the student by his/her sponsor/guardian/representative, these conditions will still apply.

3.4. All declarations made on admission are accepted in good faith. Any false declaration about qualification or age, or failure to produce documentary evidence of entry qualifications, may result in the expulsion of the student from the course to which he/she has been admitted. In such cases, the student will not be entitled to any refund.

4.3 Payment of Fees - All students must enroll at the start of their course, and each subsequent year. At that time they must either provide an acceptable written guarantee from an official sponsor accepting responsibility for all fees due or make full payment of their fees and any registration fees for the academic year concerned or elect to pay by installments. Lampton College will only accept student enrolment upon receipt of the relevant payments or sponsor authorization. Those whose funding will come from outside the UK should apply well in advance for the necessary transfer of funds. Lampton College will not accept the postponement of payment of fees because of exchange control problem. Receipt of deposit payment is regarded as an acceptance of the Terms & Conditions of Lampton College. 4.4 Sponsored Students Lampton College London reserves the right to accept the sponsor's guarantee. In case where the guarantee is not acceptable, it is the student's responsibility to pay his/her fees on or before enrolment. 4.5 Payment by Students - Students who are on full time courses lasting more than five months and are financing themselves may pay their tuition fees in a single payment at the time of enrolment or by installments.

4.8 Payment by Installments - Students who are on a full time course lasting more than five months and are self-financing may pay by monthly installments. The minimum deposit is 50% of the course fee plus registration fee. This is due a minimum of four weeks before the start date of the course. A supplementary charge of 10% will be added to the tuition fees in case of payment by installments. The remaining fees will be divided equally into a maximum of four payments. Students paying by installments must make a payment every month on the specified date. The final installment must be paid no later than the fourth month of the course. The facility to pay by installments will be withdrawn from students who fail to meet installment deadlines. Students who have tuition fees outstanding after the fourth month of the course will not be allowed to sit any formal examinations until the fees have been paid in full. 4.9 Late Payments - A penalty charge of 25 will be applied in all instances where payment has not been received by Lampton College by the required date and each time a reminder letter is sent. Terms & Conditions

4.10 Conditions for Enrolment & Admission Policy - The College assume that all prospective students will have thought long enough about taking up a course and therefore applying for admission. However, no matter how well intentioned one is the College understands that there are many reasons for wishing to withdraw from a course, both before and after courses have commenced. Consequently, the College policy on refund of fees upon withdrawal shall be as follows: 4.10.1 Once a student has been assigned a CAS (confirmation of acceptance) enrolled, no refund is permitted. 4.10.2 No refund is permitted or shall be made when a student withdraws once classes have commenced.

4.10.6 Refund Procedure - Whenever a student or prospective student decides to initiate a request for refund, this must be done in writing to the Registrar. The request will be processed in term of existing policy and if a decision is made, it will be conveyed to the applicant in writing. 4.10.7 Refund Time - Although the College will always Endeavour to respond to refund requests with a sense of urgency, but under normal circumstances it takes up to ten weeks to process a refund.

4.10.3 In case where a prospective student is refused student visa, the College will refund fees paid less 400 administration charges. However, in such event, no refund will be made unless the College has received all original copies of the College letters of enrolment plus an original copy of refusal from the appropriate immigration authority.

4.10.4 No refund is permitted or shall be made if a Confirmation of acceptance (CAS) has been to a applicant/prospective student or enters in UK on a student visa obtained. 4.10.5 No refund is permitted or shall be made when a student decides not to apply for student Visa after assigned a CAS or further leave to remain in U.K. 45

4.10.8 Transfer of Fees to another Person - From time to time, students who fail to attend College for bonafide reasons normally request the College to transfer the fees to a relative or friends account. If and when the College decides to accept such request, the fee will be transferred in full less 400 administration charges. The College is under no obligation to honor such requests and decisions are at the discretion of The Principal/Management. If the transfer is in favour of an existing student, the College will credit the account of the student and under no circumstances the College will refund the Fees directly to a student when the students account is in debit. 5.1. Full refund of tuition fees will be made if Lampton College London is unable to offer advertised course due to insufficient student enrolment or any other reason.

6.1. Refunds will be made to the person or organization that initially made the payment on receipt of all original documents.

6. Payment of Refunds

7.1. Students are expected to attend classes regularly, Lampton College reserve the right to terminate a student's course of study if attendance is below 80%. Lampton College reserves the right to forfeit the tuition fees of students, if they miss ten expected contacts that are late, absent or leaving early and poor course progress etc. The UK Border Agency requires that students miss no more than 10 expected contacts during the academic year. This is described in the Colleges Attendance and monitoring policy

10.1. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, then such provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to affect the intent of these terms and conditions, and the remainder of the terms and conditions shall continue in full force and effect.

10. Severance

8.1. Each party will indemnify the other in respect of any costs, claims, demands, losses or liabilities (including reasonable legal fees) incurred by the indemnified party as a result of or arising in any way from a claim by a third party which results from any breach of the provisions contained in these Terms and Conditions.

11.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and the student agrees to abide to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

11. Law & Jurisdiction

9.1. Lampton College shall not be liable to any student for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, profit or business however caused. Lampton College aggregate liability to any student, caused by breach of contract, negligence or otherwise (except in relation to death or personal injury), shall not in any event exceed either 1,000 or the amount that has been paid by the student, whichever is the lower. Neither party shall be liable to the other for any failure or

It is expected of all students to comply with all formalities, failing which students may get de-registered and UKBA will be notified with immediate effect.

The Terms and Conditions are reviewed by Lampton College London from time to time. There is no guarantee that the conditions for payment or refund of fees will remain the same from year to year. All students must comply with the current Terms and Conditions. Lampton College London reserves the right to change or amend the Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice.
