Students in India

Logistics and Supply Chain management contributes around 13% to the country's GDP.
It is approximately, a Rs.600 billion industry, which is likely to grow at a CAGR of 7%
during the next five years. In the last few years, this sector has achieved tremendous
growth. In every sector, more supply-chain experts are being recruited, as opportunities
in this domain are likely to contribute more towards the bottom line. Such a phenomenal
growth is expected to provide more employment at all levels in logistics and supply-chain
management area.

CII has been playing a pioneering role in facilitating the adoption of logistics and supply
chain management practices in the Indian industry and in developing the logistics
industry in India. Towards this goal, CII has established the specialized Institute of
Logistics at Chennai - as a center of excellence in logistics and supply chain
management in the country.

One of the objectives of CIL is to enhance the competitiveness of the Indian industry and
increase the number of trained manpower in logistics & supply chain domain.

Apart from offering consultancy, research and training services, CII Institute of Logistics
(CII – IL) is offering a PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management in distance mode,
which was developed in response to views consistently expressed by Industry
practitioners in recent years, based on evolving trends in the Industry.

Now, we have embarked on an innovative 5-day ‘Certificate Program in Logistics &

Distribution Management’ (CLDM), designed exclusively for Management /
Engineering students, so that this will be a value addition to the regular
curriculum, making them more placement worthy and be industry-ready to be
absorbed in the exploding field of logistics and supply-chain management.

We have successfully conducted this programme in several colleges and the students
have found it to be highly beneficial. Hence, we are planning to extend it to more number
of colleges for the benefit of the student community.

The programme duration is 5 days and can be organised at a place and time of mutual

- Fee for the programme is Rs.75,000/- (Including presentation Materials) for a batch not
exceeding 30 students. Taxes extra.

- Transportation & other allied expenses will be charged separately on an actual basis.

- Additional number of students will be charged at Rs.3000/- per student for the course.

-The evaluation will be done through a written examination, after the completion of the course.

Students who have secured 50% and above will be issued with the CLDM completion certificate
and others will be given a participation certificate. The certificates will be issued under the
seal of CII Institute of Logistics only.
