Normanton Town Gala Saturday 10th September is Normanton Gala Day. We will be taking part with a float (by IPL) and a stand at the Gala. We need people on the day to help: Loading and unloading of the bus. Giving out leaflets. Helping with refreshments. Chatting to people from the town about your ministry...youth, Alpha, Childrens work etc. If you can help it would be fantastic. Just an hour or so, or longer if you can. There will be loads of refreshments and cake. It will be a real opportunity to reach out to the town and bring them close. Time to sow seeds. Oil Stock Don lent his Oil Stock (see photo) to someone who was going to pray with

some one who was ill. I do need it back urgently Freedom in Christ Starts this week, on Tuesday, at Sarahs house Alpha Starts on the 29th at the Vicarage. Invitations are available. Green Gables Dont forget to sign up for our parish weekend it is only just over a month away. Harvest We are looking to do something a bit special for Harvest this year if we can get permissions. It will be on October 2nd. Prayer meeting Begins next Sunday evening 11th September at 6.30 in church. Children & Youth Ministry There will be a meeting today after the Thanksgiving Service (approx 11.45 am) in the Parish Rooms for all Sunday morning, Rock Solid and Aftershock leaders and for anyone interested in joining the team. Church Walks The next Monday afternoon walk is tomorrow, meet at the Parish Church Rooms at 1.00 pm. The next Saturday walk will be on 10th September, meet at the Parish Church Rooms at 9.00 am. We have not yet decided where we will be going but will know a few days beforehand. Please let John and Kate know if you are coming to either of these walks (tel: 223893). Jane Tomlinson Appeal We completed the 26 mile Walk for All on the 14th August in just over 9 hours. Many thanks to all those that sponsored us, we have been able to send 207 to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal - John & Kate Penrose. PCC Minutes from the Emergency PCC meeting are in the pigeon holes. Operation Restoration, Bolivia There are updates on the welcome desk. School of Theology, Sheffield Saturday 17th September, St Thomas Crookes, Sheffield, in partnership with St Pauls Theological Centre, Holy Trinity Brompton, are delighted to be able to build on the success of the previous years School of Theology by introducing brand new courses, including a life track and two modules. School of Theology, Leeds Starting from Saturday 1st October at St Georges Church Centre, Leeds. The 2011-12 programme follows a Bible Track and features an excellent group of speakers from around the country. The eight Saturday mornings will provide a detailed overview of the Scriptures, and inspiration in applying them to life.
