Temperatures rarely exceed 73 degrees making outdoor recreation a revitalizing experience. Beech Mountain is abundant in charm, hospitality and mile-high tranquility.

ABOUT YOUR MEALS


Special LJ Only meals at Beech Mountain. This includes our special catered breakfast each morning; special Mountain BBQ Cookout dinner; and a special farewell dinner at Dan'l Boone Inn. For over 40 years, Dan'l Boone Inn has been serving Boone and the high country delicious homecooked meals, just like you remember at grandma's house. The family style meals begin with a salad in the summer and soup in the winter. Three meats and five vegetables are served along with biscuits, preserves, dessert and beverage. Our tour will take you to a large Banner Elk Grocery Store, allowing you to purchase groceries of your choice to stock your full kitchen in your fireplace suites. This is a tremendous value and saves you money! Another benefit, our Legendary Journeys coach will provide transport to the Beech Mountain village, just a couple of minutes away, with many dining choices if you would rather eat out.

The Pinnacle Inn Resort is centered in the northwestern part of North Carolina in the beautiful High Country area. Located in eastern America's highest resort community, Beech Mountain, with unparalleled scenery and abundance of activities make for an exceptional vacation experience. The All Seasons Center offers an indoor heated pool, four indoor hot tubs, steam room, dry sauna, exercise room, recreation area (including ping pong, pool table, electronic games and more). For your convenience there is an on-site laundry room. On our spacious grounds are two tennis courts, miniature golf, shuffleboard and playground.

OKTOBERFEST & CRAFT FESTIVALS


This is the perfect time of year to visit North Carolina. While it is still in the 90's in Florida, you enjoy the "cool" weather of the 60's and 70's at Beech Mountain. September & October every mountain town and village hosts Fall Craft & Oktoberfest festivals and our itinerary is adjustable to accommodate the best of the local events going on the week you visit. The harvest season of September finds folks decorating and celebrating the beginning of fall, and the Great Smoky Mountains share center stage with the Gatlinburg Craftsmens Fair during the month of October. The Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, established in 1937, is the largest group of independent artisans in North America. This area offers the best in a wide range of craft festivals which include pottery, woodcarving, candle making, quilting, weaving, broom making, painting, and many other fine art forms. The Oktoberfest festivals is a German style festival that includes Polka music, food, games, dancing, and more.

Day 1 ~ Travel to Walterboro, South Carolina Today you travel from our standard pick-up locations to Walterboro, South Carolina where you check into the firstclass Microtel Hotel (or similar) for one night. Day 2 ~ Travel to North Carolina Breakfast at the resort. Today your journey continues into the scenic and cool North Carolina mountains, to your home away from home for a leisurely week...Pinnacle Inn Resort and the beautiful Beech Mountain. (B)

Day 6 ~ Pinnacle Inn Resort at Leisure Breakfast at the resort. The day is yours to do as you please. Dinner in your suite. (B) Day 7 ~ Full Day Tour Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg & Cherokee Breakfast at the resort.Today you will visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which preserves a rich cultural tapestry of Southern Appalachian history. About 100 native tree species make their home in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, more than in all of northern Europe. Amid the splendor of the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg embodies the simple goodness of small town life. Surrounded on three sides by the natural beauty of the National Park, Gatlinburg prides itself in its mountain heritage, and the arts, crafts, and retail shops of the area reflect that heritage to a large extent. The Cherokee Indians were the first to be charmed by the natural beauty of the mountains, fresh flowing streams and rivers, and clear blue sky in what they called Land of the Blue Smoke, or Smoky Mountains as we know them today.Cherokee offers plenty of fun activities, museums, amusement parks, casino, hiking trails, scenic drives, great shopping. Beech Mountain

Day 3 ~ Full Day Tour of Boone & Blowing Rock Breakfast at the resort. Nestled in a breathtaking valley amidst some of the oldest, most scenic mountains in the world, the Boone area offers scenic country roads, cascading waterfalls, wildlife, and an unsurpassed botanical paradise filled with a variety of plants matched by few places on Earth. Later, visit the quaint mountain village of Blowing Rock, known as the Crown of the Blue Ridge". Blowing Rock sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide at a cool 4,000 foot elevation. (B) Day 4 ~ Pinnacle Inn Resort at Leisure Breakfast at the resort. The day is yours to do as you please. The Pinnacle Resort Inn offers an indoor heated pool, four indoor hot tubs, steam room, dry sauna, exercise room, recreation area (including ping pong, pool table, electronic games and more). On the spacious grounds are two tennis courts, miniature golf, and shuffleboard. For your convenience we also have an on-site laundry room. This evening enjoy a BBQ cookout dinner at the resort. (B, D) Day 5 ~ Full Day Tour of Blue Ridge Parkway & Little Switzerland Breakfast at the resort. Today you enjoy a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a slow paced, relaxing, driveawhile and stop-awhile experience, rewarding the traveler with stunning long-range vistas and close-up looks at the southern Appalachian Mountains. The Parkway winds its way 469 miles through mountain meadows and past seemingly endless vistas. Split-rail fences, old farmsteads and historic structures complement spectacular views of distant mountains and neighboring valleys. Later you visirt Little Switzerland where as far as the eye can see, you are surrounded by an incredible dream of misty blue mountains and green valleys. Then, you will visit Mt. Mitchell, the highest point in the Eastern US. This is the perfect place to escape the heat of a hot summers day, because it is usually 15 or 20 degrees cooler than the city. (B)

Gatlinburg

Day 8 ~ Pinnacle Inn Resort at Leisure Breakfast at the resort. The day is yours to do as you please. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the famous Dan'l Boone Inn. For over 40 years, Danl Boone Inn has been serving Boone and the high country delicious homecooked meals, just like you remember at grandmas house. This will certainly be a treat. (B, D) Day 9 ~ Travel to Walterboro, South Carolina Breakfast at the resort. Today, travel South to Walterboro, South Carolina where you check into the first-class Microtel Hotel (or similar) for one night. (B) Day 10 ~ Travel Home Breakfast at the hotel. Today, your journey comes to an end as you travel South to our standard Florida drop-off locations, with wonderful memories of this "cool" escape to the North Carolina mountains! (B)

DEPOSIT & FINAL PAYMENT: A $300 per person deposit is due to confirm reservation. Fares do not include non commissionable fees, additional service charges; government taxes or insurance payment. Departure Taxes, Visa's and the like are additional expenses paid by the passenger. Legendary Journeys will assist you in getting a VISA if tour requires. Full Payment is due 90 days prior to departure. CANCELLATION POLICY: Loss of deposit for cancellation after booking. After Final Payment the penalties are as follows: 90 - 46 days prior - 50%; 45 - 31 days prior - 75%; within 30 days - non refundable. Percentages apply to the total cost of the tour. Diamond Deals are non-refundable. These are general cancellation fees, some of our promotions are non-refundable after booking, in which case please see specific notation on front of flyer. PRICING: All prices in this brochure are current at the time of printing and are subject to change without notice. REVISION FEES: Any changes made to a reservation after deposit is subject to a minimum $35 Revision Fee per occurrence. Revision Fees (including Premium Air Fees and Choose Your Cabin) are non refundable and can not be insured. CABIN ASSIGNMENTS: The cruise line will only assign a guarantee in the cabin category you purchase and the cabin assignment will come in your documents. AIR DEVIATION: If your tour includes air, the flight schedules are for the scheduled arrival & departure days of the trip as indicated on the first page of the flyer. If you wish to travel on dates, other than what would be standard departure and return dates this must be requested at the time of reservation/deposit. There is a Premium Air fee of $49 for this deviation as well as fare difference (if any). PRE TOURS, POST TOURS & UPGRADES: MUST be paid in FULL at the time of reservation. DISCOUNTS: Any discounts/ coupons must be pre-approved by Legendary Journeys to be accepted on Legendary Journeys group programs. Many coupons offered by cruise lines and other suppliers specifically exclude applying acceptance to group travel. Because our group departures are highly discounted each coupon or discount must be reviewed by Legendary Journeys to determine if they can be applied. A service fee may be applied to the acceptance of discount coupon and that amount will be deducted from the coupon value. Additionally, all discounts and coupons apply to the first and second passenger ONLY traveling in a cabin/room. DOCUMENTS: You will receive your documents approximately 7 days prior to departure. Passengers requesting documents be shipped to a Canadian address will be charged a $50 handling fee. Documents shipped to any other country outside the United States will be charged a $100 handling fee. BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Regardless of the length of the trip you are allowed one checked bag and one carry-on per person. Carry-on Bag, should not exceed the dimensions of 12"x11"x6" and checked bag should not exceed the dimensions 30"x21"x11" and weight not exceeding 50 lbs. TIPPING: Legendary Journeys does not pay gratuities to your Tour Manager or Driver. We recommend you tip for good service based on the following industry standards: Overnight Tours: Tour Manager $3 Per Person Per Day, Driver $2 Per Person Per Day; Day Trips: Tour Manager $2 Per Person Per Day, Driver $1 Per Person Per Day. Cruise tipping as per ship guidelines. PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: Cruises and Tours that leave the Continental United States will require PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP. For Cruises & Tours this means a passport. You MUST check with U.S. Customs (for Americans or your Foreign Consulate office if you are not a U.S. citizen) to ensure proper documentation. U.S. rules for re-entering the United States are evolving and may require a passport. This is your only notice about providing proof of citizenship and passport. Legendary Journeys reserves the right to substitute any services of similar or equal quality. Legendary Journeys cannot control the circumstances, causes, effects, weather, strikes, bankruptcies, etc. of our suppliers. It is absolutely clear to your acceptance of participation in this trip that Legendary Journeys cannot guarantee airlines, flight times, hotels, attractions, shows, restaurants, Motorcoach vendors, etc. and unforeseen changes that might occur in the future. Therefore, Legendary Journeys, acting as intermediary or as an agent for these suppliers retains its rights to modify the itinerary components of the itinerary or the use of suppliers that is best for the operation of the tour. Furthermore, your claims about these unforeseen changes has in no way an effect on your decision to cancel or in waiving cancellation penalties that will be imposed as a result of your cancellation.
