Art Competitions 2010

Through history, art has been an integral part of the education, religious, & belief systems in most societies. Art therefore must present, reflect & address social realities & contemporary social challenges. Jai ho society introduces first art competitions of 2010. The winning and nominated art work, created by participants, will be used as a catalyst for social awareness and change. The theme of the competition is self sufficiency, nature consciousness movement & Save Environment save mankind. Jai Ho is a non government organization working to rescue the mankind from miseries & fight against alarming sustainability problems.

The aim of these competitions is to generate public discourse on environmental problems, to raise awareness, encourage discussions and make Green living more Joyful as well to establish feeling of equality in the youth. Self sufficiency is to bring ultimate freedom and make people able to use their resources to the optimum. Thus the competition intends to invite, identify & involve a young generation of artists who can take this message forward to the public through their original artwork. Presently, the world is a competitive world, everyone wants to get over others, by such comparison we become envious of even our dear ones, now we get tied in clutches of greed,

such greedy heart never let us getting satisfied. We result in frustration, anger, aggression and hence murder inner & external peace.

Competition -> comparison -> envious behavior -> greed -> frustration -> anger -> aggression -> desire of dictatorship -> more comparison -> more competition -> end of peace
So, every person well talented shall be awarded. No 1st, 2nd or last. There is no race. All are equal. A Board will select innovative artwork; this will be displayed at many places, awards will be given to every* that artwork which successfully convince people for the change it depicts.

Jai Ho have organized 8 art competitions: 1. Painting: Thick sheet/canvas sheet, (Size 15II X 20II ) 2. Poster Design: Thin sheet (Size 15II X 10II ) 3. Photography (Prints on photo paper, Size 9 X 13 cm ) 4. Slogan Writing 5. Card Design (Please remember the theme of competitions is self sufficiency) 6. T-Shirt Painting 7. Skit Competition: Recorded in CD,15- 20 minutes(Group not more than 10 Participants) 8. Radio Advertisement: Recorded, max. 15sec, (Solo/Group Max 3 Participants), please refer to note # on last page. Competition 1-5 is individual participation, Participation Fee Is Rs.20/- . Competition 6 is individual participation, Fee is Rs. 75, T-Shirt will be provided by Jai Ho Society and no other T-shirt will be accepted. Competition 7 is group participation, Fee is Rs. 250 Per Group Competition 8 can be solo or group with max of 3 Participants, Fee is Rs. 250 Per Group. For all the competitions Entries are to be submitted to Jai Ho Society with entry slip attached.

Jai Ho Society will reward every talented participant. Jai Ho Shall Declare no participant as 1st , 2nd or 3rd but Reward according to A grade System. Participants getting A+ Grade will be rewarded Certificate of Excellence and Cash Award of RS. 1000/-.

Participants getting A grade will be rewarded certificate of nomination. Others shall get certificate of participation. Grading System: Nominated artwork will get A grade and out of them all the Final selected Artwork will get A+ Grade. This shall be a unique opportunity for the participants to be associated with Jai Ho and recognized by society at large. The competitions bring the following advantages to the nominated participants: GENERAL (For All): Catalogue & creative collaterals: creative work will be collated into a catalogue/e-catalogue with due acknowledgement. Specific: Exhibition: The paintings/posters & Photographs will be widely exhibited across Delhi with due acknowledgement. Media: Photographs will be sent to popular News paper/channels. Displays: The slogans written shall be used as Advertisement material, will be put on web-sites and be printed as popular quotes in Jai Ho Newsletters with due Acknowledgement. Cards & T-shirts: The cards and T-Shirts shall be printed and put to sale at various gift/garment shops/showroom with due acknowledgement. Radio Ad: The winning entries shall be aired on FM with due Acknowledgements. Please refer to note # on last page. Street plays: The nominated participants will get an opportunity to perform at various public places and promotion for the same shall be made before performance by the society.

Participants have to use their own material for all competitions except competition 5 and have to submit their entries to Jai Ho through institutions/organizations associated with Jai Ho Competitions. Jai Ho shall provide 1 T-shirt to every participant of competition no. 5 and shall reject paintings on any other t-shirt. Jai Ho Society will pay handling/promotional charges to institutions/ organizations associated with Jai Ho Competitions.

Jai Ho will Accept only original, creative, semi-realistic/figurative, simple to understand artwork. NO sculpture, photography, prints or computer generated/enhanced artwork will be accepted.

Artwork after submission to Jai Ho will be copyright of Jai Ho. Painting/Photograph or any other artwork must be made for Jai Ho Competition only & must not have been a part of any other competition. Jai Ho has the right to reject the entry at any stage All artwork will be property of Jai Ho. The nomination & selection of final made by Jai Ho Society shall be final, unchallengeable in the court of law & no correspondence/ claim will be entertained in this regard. All maters will be decided by Jai Ho & shall be final. By signing the form a participant accepts: That he/she Full indemnify Jai Ho harmless from any claims, which may arise from this entry. That he/she Agree Jai Ho is not responsible for any copyright violation. That he/she grant organizers all right to copy, reproduce, exhibit, show case or auction the artwork. Imp: #The radio advertisement competition is a suggested competition and may be ceased if required funds are not raised till 31st march 2010 and the fee for the same shall be refunded till 31st may 2010 in such case the recordings given to Jai Ho shall not be used by the society.
