We return to a new year and half a new school! We are pleased to see children and parents coping well with the new arrangements for the new building. Our children have settled well and we wish for the same successful start to all our past Year 6 pupils. We had a lovely end of term with a fantastic Black and White Leavers Disco. Many thanks to the parents involved in organising that event. The end of year Leavers Assembly saw many tears from children and parents. But we were able to enjoy and acknowledge a number of important achievements. Etty Martin was awarded the first ever Musician of the Year prize from Miss Hope. The winner of the Jubilee Project was Gemma Swan with Lewis Preston and Hollie Glennon were runners up. The Archer Cup was awarded to Sonny Wade in 2EW for the fantastic improvement he has made during the year and the Shead Shield was presented to Dheen Zia in 6B for the outstanding contributions and example he set at Brampton. Well done to everyone.
Brampton Primary is a restorative school where the initial response to conflict is to find a solution where things are put right, the victims needs are met whilst also meeting the needs of the wrong doer and meet all the schools responsibilities.

Thank you Building News As you are aware the infants are now settled into their new classrooms and we look forward to our new reception starting next week. All staff have worked extremely hard to move furniture and equipment to be ready for the start of the new term. The refurbishment of the 3 old classes into 2 with a shared teaching space is complete. The old Year 5, 4 and SEN/FOB hut have been demolished during the holidays and the foundations and brick work is complete up to the damp proof course. Preparation for the floor slab is currently under way. This phase has meant changes in access to the school for the office and Years 3, 4 and 6 so we hope for a dry autumn and winter. This last phase should be completed before March. Communication with Staff As we have currently lost our internal phone system in the school, for security reasons, and so that the office can contact staff their mobile phones will be left on until March. They will not be used for personal use. Children should not have a mobile phone in school.

And finally.......Staff Car Park As you will have seen the staff car park has been severely affected by the current phase of building works. A number of staff will be walking to school but others have a much longer journey to make with heavy books/bags etc and use of a car is essential. If anyone would be able to offer the use of a drive way or other parking space we would be extremely grateful for any assistance. Remember if you like what were doing tell us and others! If you dont, please help us improve! School Office; 020 8303 2873 Fax; 020 8298 0286 Email:admin@brampton.bexley.sch.uk
