LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING

1 Corinthians 12:13-13:8 (Sit)

A reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians Be ambitious for the higher gifts. And I am going to show you a way that is better than any of them. If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. If I have the gift of prophecy, understanding all the mysteries there are, and knowing everything, and if I have faith in all its fullness, to move mountains, but without love, then I am nothing at all. If I give away all that I posses, piece by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am without love, it will do me no good whatever. Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end. This is the word of the Lord. People : Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Bind Us Together

Chorus:

Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together, With cords that cannot be broken, Bind us together, Lord, Bind us together, Bind us together with Love. There is only one God, There is only one King, There is only one Body, That is why I sing. ALLELUIA

Alleluia, Alleluia! God is love; Let us love one another as he has loved us. Alleluia. GOSPEL Priest People : : The Lord be with you. And also with you. A reading from the Gospel according to Glory to you, Lord.

Priest : John. (15:12-17) People :

Priest : Jesus said, "This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. A man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends,, if you do what I command you. I shall not call you servants any more, because a servant does not know his master's business; I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father. You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; and then the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name. What I command you is to love one another." This is the Gospel of the Lord. All : Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

All

It is right to give him thanks and praise.

Priest : Father, all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks. By this sacrament your grace unites man and woman in an unbreakable bond of live and peace. You have designed the chaste love of husband and wife for the increase both of the human family and of your own family born in baptism. You are the loving Father of the world of nature; you are the loving Father of the new creation of grace. In Christian marriage you bring together the two orders of creation: nature's gift of children enriches the world and your grace enriches also your Church. Through Christ the choirs of angels and all the saints praise and worship your glory. May our voices blend with theirs as we join in their unending hymn: All : Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest Blesses is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.

Priest : Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Before he was given up to death, a death he freely accepted, he took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: Take this, all of you, and eat it: This is my body which will be given up for you. When supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said: Take this, all of you, and drink from it: This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant.
9

It will be shed for you and for all men, so that sins may be forgiven. Then he said to them: Do this in memory of me. Priest : All : Let us proclaim the mystery of faith: He is Lord, He is Lord! He has risen from the dead and He is Lord, Every knee shall bend; Every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Priest : In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Father, this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you. May all of us who share in the body and blood of Christ be brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit. Lord, remember your Church throughout the world; make us grow in love, together with John Paul, our Pope, Gregory Yong, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember our brothers and sisters who have gone to their test in the hope of rising again; bring them and all the departed into the light of your presence. Have mercy on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary, the virgin mother of God, with the apostles, and with all the saints who have done your will throughout the ages. May we praise you in union with them, and give you glory through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through Him, with Him, In Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours, Almighty Father, forever and ever. All : Amen.

10

COMMUNION RITE Priest : Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the words our Saviour gave us: All : Our Father in heaven, Holy be your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Do not bring us to the test but deliver us from evil.

NUPTIAL BLESSING Priest : My dear friends, let us ask God for his continue blessings upon Thomas and Cheryl. Holy Father, creator of the universe, maker of man and woman in your own likeness, source of blessing for the married life, we humbly pray to you for this bride who today is united with her husband in the bond of marriage. May your fullest blessing come upon her and her husband so that they may together rejoice in your gift of married love. May they be noted for their good lives, and be parents filled with virtue. Lord, may they both praise you when they are happy and turn to you in their sorrows. May they be glad that you help them in their work, and know that you are with them in their need. May they pray to you in the community of the Church, and be your witnesses in the world. May they reach old age in the company of their friends, and come at last to the kingdom of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. People : Amen.

Priest : Lord, Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom where you live for- ever and ever. All : Amen.
11

COMMUNION Priest : This is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, Happy are those who are called to his supper. All : Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed. COMMUNION HYMN Fill My Cup, Lord Like the woman at the well I was seeking, For things that could not satisfy. And then I heard my Saviour speaking: Draw from my well that never shall run dry.
Chorus:

Fill my cup, Lord, I lift it up Lord Come and quench this thirsting of my soul. Bread of heaven feed me till I want no more, Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.

There are millions in this world who are craving, The pleasure earthly things afford. But none can match the wondorous treasure That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
12

THANKSGIVING HYMN Give Thanks Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son. Lord, in your love, you have given us this eucharist to unite us with one another and with you. As you have made Thomas and Cheryl one in this sacrament of marriage (and in the sharing of the one bread and the one cup), so now make them one in love for each other. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All : Amen.

(Repeat)

CONCLUDING RITE Priest : All : The Lord be with you. And also with you.

FINAL HYMN There's A New World Somewhere There's a new world somewhere They call the promised land And I'll be there someday If you will hold my hand I still need you there beside me No matter what I do For I know I'll never find another you. It's a long long journey So stay by my side When I walk through the storm You'll be my guide, be my guide If they gave me a fortune My treasure would be small I could lose it all tomorrow And never mind at all But if I should lose your love dear I don't know what to do For I know I'll never find another you.
