Adimark GfK in Santiago de Chile opened a new telephone studio with 100 CATI stations in May this year. New automatic dialing technology now makes it possible to carry out up to 45,000 computer assisted telephone interviews (CATI) every month. Previously, Adimark GfK had been conducting the around 30,000 monthly telephone surveys from 60 stations in its main ofce, but on account of the continuous increase in demand, the space here was insufcient. Clients of the Chilean GfK subsidiary commissioned 450,000 CATI surveys in 2010 alone. With annual sales of around USD 92 million in 2009, Chile is ranked 33rd of the worlds largest market research markets. For many years now, telephone interviews have been the second most popular quantitative survey method in Chile after face-to-face interviews, and this is likely to remain the case for the foreseeable future. In contrast, at global level, the use of online surveys has now overtaken all other survey methods. Established in 1974, Adimark GfK joined the GfK Group in 2005 and offers ad hoc research in the retail, nance services, telecommunications, media and advertising market segments. The company employs 240 members of staff and counts Bank Santander, the Chilean government, national telecoms operator Entel and Chiles largest beer producer and third largest soft drinks manufacturer, CCU, among its biggest clients. The President of Adimark GfK is Professor Dr. Roberto Mendez. Further information: Alvaro Larran tel. +56 2 473-2005 alvaro.larrain@gfk.com
