harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the kings seer, and Nathan the prophet: for so was the commandment of the LORD by his prophets.

Notice that Israels worship was established by prophets. Hezekiah reestablished this worship based on the commandment of David, Gad, and Nathan. There is a strong connection between worship and the prophetic.

Prophets should be instrumental in worship. Thy should be involved as musicians, singers, seers, and dancers. David established worship on Mt.Zion with the prophetic families of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun (1 Chron. 25). Heman was the Kings seer. The prophetic level in Israel atbthe time was extremely high because of the ministry of Samuel, and the school of the prophets. Music was evidently used in training emerging prophets. Saul met a company of prophets who were playing instruments (1 Sam.10). Elisha called for a minstrel, and then began to prophesy. Music is very important in worship, and also in training prophetic people.

Anointed minstrels help release the prophetic flow and keep it strong in an assembly. The secrets of God are opened upon the harp.

Psalm 49:4
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. Minstrels should be Spirit filled, skillful, and consecrated. They need to work with the singers and dancers in bringing forth the song of the Lord. We need Prophet-Musicians as a part of the worship team. If they are not prophets, they need to be activated in the prophetic to some degree. Prophetic people are sensitive to the word of the Lord. The word of the Lord can be spoken or sung.

David, a worshipper, was also a prophet. He was the sweet psalmist of Israel.
2 Samuel 23:1-3
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. Sweet is the Hebrew- Na`iym meaning pleasant, delightful, sweet, lovely, agreeable, delightful, lovely, beautiful (physical), singing, sweetly sounding, musical.

David was a singing prophet, he was a musical prophet.

Musical prophets bring great blessing and refreshing to the church. They should be identified and released. They are an important part of true worship. They release the word of the Lord in song. Habakkuk released the word upon Shigionoth.

Habakkuk 3:1
A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth, upon Sigionoth A musical instrument, upon: or, according to variable songs, or, tunes, called in Hebrew. The Word English Bible says, a prayer of Habbakuk, the prophet, set to victorious music.

To prophesy simply means to speak or sing by inspiration. This is often spontaneous and comes as the anointing flows from within, or rests upon. The musician can play, pray, and sing by inspiration. We are inspired people. Inspiration is powerful when released in worship. The first place we see the word prophet in the bible (Gen.20:7) is describing Abraham, he is called an inspired man, a prophet, one who speaks or sings by inspiration. Inspiration is the result of the breath of God. Moses desired that all of Gods people were prophetic.

Num.11:29
And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORDS people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
