TECHNICAL QUALITY MANUAL Quality manual for purposes of ISO 9000 will be different from what is required for

the purposes of ensuring a quality assured installation. Initially a technical quality assurance manual for the solar power station will be prepared. This we will eventually enlarge into a typical manual for ISO 9000 certification. The manual is also oriented towards training personnel for maintenance, newly joined engineers etc. Chapters to cover all the individual components listed earlier and repeated below: SPV Modules Mounting Structure Cables, connectors and joints PCU LT Panel, LT cables LT/Ht Transformer and components Switch Gears on LT/HT Safety Equipment, Metering Equipment Connections to SEB grid Emergency Battery backup/auxiliary power supply unit Earth mat Lightning arrestors Control Room Building Fencing or compound walls Perimeter Lighting Safety arrangements, firefighting, security etc Water pipeline and distribution Cable markers, warning boards, Notifications etc Communication equipment and methods Chapter I -General Outline description of typical Solar Power Generating Station General description of parts and their functions Line layout diagrams with name of parts Photographs/sketches of various equipment Technical Chapters (middle) One chapter each for each of the major component as listed above Each technical chapter will be divided into sections to cover different topics as under: General description of the component List of sub components and parts Diagrams wherever possible/necessary Each such sub component/part to be dealt with in complete detail to cover points as listed:

Function, capacities/sizes Design of the component Design verification and validation Standardisation as far as possible Governing IS or IEC standards (to append the relevant standard as far as possible and give reference here) Evaluate and lay down standards where none exists Fitment procedure, compatibility with other component Erection or laying procedure, job instructions in simple language for easy comprehension (This could be made as a separate hand book to be given to the site engineer) Inspection/conformance of quality, when to be done, how to be done, where to be done Inspection where? In factory, at site or after fitment? Acceptance based on what? Test certificates from factory, sampling inspection and testing as per IS-2500 Part I & II Or final performance test after assembly? Product Identification, Product traceability Segregation of defective pieces and their disposal Handling/Storage requirements at site, any special storage needs, precautions to prevent damage during handling, storage and unpacking, Identification and listing of quality makes from the market Illustrated Parts List, User hand book Preventive Maintenance schedule, operation methods Safety procedures, any statutory regulations Calibration of output, other parameters, frequency of such verification Maintenance of mandatory documents and records Painting, marking and identification End Chapters Integrating the system and testing of compatibility To cover final performance tests, what are the tests, how they are to be conducted, what testing instruments necessary, Any seasonal tests necessary, say summer, winter and rainy seasons? Who all will witness the tests? Who will certify and approve the performance and accept Training the operation and maintenance personnel, for how long? Handing over of the installation, who will take over Defect liability or guarantee period of the contractor Who is responsible and guarantee for bought out items Spare parts list, spare parts to be provided for how long a period?
