13 books 52 chapters 90 passages No: 85 Maybe: 2 Fabrications: 3 Matthew 19:16 (only God is good) Mark 12:28 (God is One) Luke 24:19 (Jesus was a prophet) John 10:29 (son of God is not literal) John 20:16 (teacher, my brethren, your father, my God) MATTHEW (8. No: 8.)
14:23 After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. 15:13 But He answered and said, Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. 19:16-17 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
20:23 He said to them, My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father. 21:31 So the crowd marveled as they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. 22:35-40 One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And He said to him, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. 26:36-39 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, Sit here while I go over there and pray. And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed. Then He said to them, My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me. And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will. (Would God pray or be grieved and distressed?) 27:46-49 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI? that is, MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME? And some of those who were standing there, when they heard it, began saying, This man is calling for Elijah. Immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge, he filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink. But the rest of them said, Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him. (Can "God" or "the Son of God" be forsaken by God? The Jews were and still are expecting Elijah to return before the end times.)
They came to a place named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, Sit here until I have prayed. And He took with Him Peter and James and John, and began to be very distressed and troubled. And He said to them, My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch. And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by. And He was saying, Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will.
CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU, and, ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE. And Jesus answered and said to him, It is said, YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST. When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time. Jesus Public Ministry And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
Question #6: If Jesus is God, why did he pray at all? Luke 6:12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
6:35-36 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. 10:21-22 At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 10:25-29 And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And He said to him, What is written in the Law? How does it read to you? And he answered, YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. And He said to him, You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE. But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
11:28 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed. But He said, On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it. 18:18-22 A ruler questioned Him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER. And he said, All these things I have kept from my youth. When Jesus heard this, He said to him, One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me. 18:35-43 As Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. Now hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. And he called out, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, Son of David, have mercy on me! And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he came near, He questioned him, What do you want Me to do for you? And he said, Lord, I want to regain my sight! And Jesus said to him, Receive your sight; your faith has made you well. Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God. 19:40 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, Teacher, rebuke Your disciples. But Jesus answered, I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out! (Jesus is only a teacher. The stones also cry out in Islamic traditions.) 22:43 And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. 23:34
But Jesus was saying, Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing. And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. 23:35 And the people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One. The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine, and saying, If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself! (The Jews tried to kill him to prove/disprove that he was the Christ. Christ does not mean the literal "son of God", it means the "Chosen One" to rule Israel.) 23:37-38 and saying, If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself! Now there was also an inscription above Him, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 23:46-47 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT. Having said this, He breathed His last. Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, Certainly this man was innocent." 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment. (Jesus and his followers were practicing Jews who observed the Sabbath and followed the Law of Moses.) 24:19-21 And He said to them, What things? And they said to Him, The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him. But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened. 24:51-53 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising God. (verse 51 is
1:45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wroteJesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 1:49 Nathanael answered Him, Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel. 1:51 And He said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man. 3:2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (begotten is fabricated. according to Bart Ehrman? or RSV 1952? Probably both.) 3:32-34 But He said to them, I have food to eat that you do not know about. So the disciples were saying to one another, No one brought Him anything to eat, did he? Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work. 6:14-15 Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world. So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone. 6:37-39 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 7:39-42 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, This certainly is the Prophet. Others were saying, This is the Christ. Still others were saying, Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the descendants of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? 8:39-40 They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, If you are Abrahams children, do the deeds of Abraham. But as it
is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. 9:5 While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world. (Every prophet is the light of the world during his prophethood, until the next prophet.) 10:29-39 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Fathers hand. I and the Father are one. The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me? The Jews answered Him, For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God. Jesus answered them, Has it not been written in your Law, I SAID, YOU ARE GODS? If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came and the Scripture cannot be broken, do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, You are blaspheming, because I said, I am the Son of God? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father. Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He eluded their grasp.
11:22 Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You. 11:34-35 and said, Where have you laid him? They said to Him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. 11:39-42 Jesus said, Remove the stone. Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days. Jesus said to her, Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God? So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing
around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me. 12:44-50 And Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.
John 14:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
14:28 You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I will come to you. If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 17:3-4 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
17:9 I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; 17:11 I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which
You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. 18:10 Simon Peter then, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priests slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slaves name was Malchus. So Jesus said to Peter, Put the sword into the sheath; the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it? 18:23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken wrongly, testify of the wrong; but if rightly, why do you strike Me? 19:30-31 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath for that Sabbath was a high day, asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away (The Jews wanted to take Jesus body down off the cross quickly because according to the Torah, leaving bodies hung on trees until sundown would defile the land. They hung him on a tree because according to the Torah, someone who dies like that is cursed by God.) 20:16-17 Jesus said to her, Mary! She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni! which means, Teacher. Jesus said to her, Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God. 20:31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. 21:5 So Jesus said to them, Children, you do not have any fish, do you? They answered Him, No.
Romans 15:6 so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
1 Corinthians 15:27-28
(27) For he (God) has put everything under his (Jesus) feet. Now when it says that everything has been put under him (Jesus), it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. (28) When he (God) has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him (God) who put everything under him (Jesus), so that God may be all in all. 2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort
Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, (If Jesus is Divine, why doesn't Paul bow to the Son?) 4:5-6 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. (This is monotheism, not the Trinity.)
2:5-6 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (In the form of God? What is that supposed to mean? Clearly Jesus never claimed to be God, but he was a servant of God.)
10:12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. (Impossible for Jesus to be God and also sit at His right hand.)
1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. 2:19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
3:14 To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this:
22:16 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.
