The limits of coverage are specifically stated in the title. However, to further specify the respondents, example, UPLB students, may be a better option. c. The language used in the title is easily understood since all of the words used are simple words. d. The title is almost concisely expressed except for the overused phrase "A Study on the ..." Thus, the title should now be read as: Effects of Living Accommodations on the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) Student's Scholastic Performance and Patterns of Social Interaction

B. Extra-curricular Activities and Delinquency C. A Preliminary Study of Mangrove Species and Salinity Leves in Selected Sites at Coron Island, North Palawan D. ENGLISH 10 GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A TOPIC (RESEARCH PROPOSAL) FOR APPROVAL 1. E-mail me at trish.rubio@ymail.com or send me a personal message in Facebook regarding your proposed topic. Be sure to introduce yourself properly (give your name and section). The subject of the e-mail or message should be research proposal topic. Indicate the following: Proposed specific topic/title Name of adviser, contact number, and office affiliation Main objective Significance of the study (How can people benefit from the results of your work? What problem/s will be solved?) 2. A good source of possible topics is the recommendations section of theses. 3. Only original topics should be submitted (i.e. it has never been done in the past). 4. If you already have a topic approved by your adviser, submit the same topic through e-mail or Facebook and tell me about it. 5. If you are currently working on a topic previously approved by your adviser but you are not yet done with the study, you may submit the said topic. 6. A study that was already completed is not acceptable. 7. A study done by a group of students is not acceptable. However, if your adviser assigns you specific topics under an umbrella or broad topic, then that is acceptable. A certification explaining such an arrangement should be requested from the adviser. 8. You are required to check the existence of a similar topic by researching in the UPLB Main Library, unit libraries, and the Internet. Google for any similar topic. OPEN ALL THE ENTRIES RELATED TO YOUR TOPIC AND READ THE FILE. Ignorance of a similar topic excuses no one. If I find that there is, in fact, a similar study, you will automatically be given a failing grade for the proposal. 9. You are to consult your topic with your thesis/course adviser before you e-mail/message me your proposed topic. After negotiating your topic with me, I will give you a go signal on when you will have your thesis/course adviser sign your certificate of approval. You will be given further instruction on getting a copy of the certificate of approval. 10. E-mail/Facebook consultation should be done as soon as possible. You should have an approved topic on or before AUGUST 3, 2011 (Wednesday). Those confident of their topics may already get certificates of approval in my pigeonbox. Make sure you sign the sheet taped outside the envelop before you get anything. PLEASE SUBMIT THE ACCOMPLISHED CERTIFICATIONS IN CLASS. Thanks!
