how to write comments for the interview (a.k.a.

level test)

comments & what we conversed

>the main objective of this part is to help the korean managers develop

a good recommendation to possible clients.

>the managers in korea will choose ideal programs that will suit the st

udents' level best.

>when writing down comments, keep in mind that we want to understand th

e client more in terms of speaking and listening skills.

>on our part, we have to be specific and accurate, and also as descript

ive as possible.

>this will in turn, help them see a better picture of the students' ski

lls and knowledge of the language.

>we can use roman numerals i, ii, iii...vi to make a clear outline of

the discussion.

>then we can make entries based on their answers.

>we don't have to write down all the categories but if we think that we

covered two or three at a time, then we can just write "i and ii" o

r, "iv, v and vi" as a heading.

>you have the choice to write down their answers verbatim or paraphrase

d. just make sure that it is understandable.

>you can also write down comments on their answer like "the student ans

wered incorrectly" or the "the student's answer was excellent".

areas for improvement

>in this part, we have to write down a summary of our observations or a

ssessment of the student.


>we can write it in a bulleted format or in a paragraph form. just make

sure that each area that you want the student to focus on is written ex

plicitly.

>in addition, we can always write down how we felt during the conversat

ion and what we think about the personality of the student.

joonyun was very good. we had a spontaneous and no holds bar conversati

on. i can tell that his traveling experiences may have helped him with

his language skills. also, i think that he is smart and he enjoys socia

lizing. regarding pronunciation, his was understandable and clear, he m

ay focus on eliminating his korean accent when taking the class. also,

his vocabulary was quite average to above average. he can understand me

well. i think that he can just learn new words and expressions to enric

h his knowledge of the language. nice meeting you!

the student can focus on the following areas:

> pronunciation and intonation

- he is understandable during the conversation but would need some prac

tice.

- the student has problems with the /l/, /p/ and /f/ sounds.

> sentence construction skills

- the student is still not familiar with the s+v+o format.

- he still forgets to use articles when making a sentence.


> vocabulary

- joonyun finds it easy to understand me most of the time.

- when he answers a question, he sometimes use a korean word, then corr

ects himself.

- learning new words and more expressions would benefit him well.
