Testimony of Jesus...

And he said to me, see thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophesy. 1 Cor. 14:24,25- But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face, he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. Recently Leroy mentioned that as I was driving some folks on a tour that I had the opportunity to pray for a lady who happened to be Jewish. Leroy, I think, pointed out that there is a world out there that is desperate for healing and desperate to be reconciled to God. How true this is. We all know people (some right in this room) who need to be touched by the Spirit of the Living God. Really, isnt that true of each of us? I dont think any are exempt from that need. As Leroy said we (believers) have been given this great gift, this holy privilege of being the dwelling place of Gods Spirit- the place that He abides. Awesome, isnt it? We have also been given a directive and commission to share what we have with those that are in need. On top of that we have been empowered to do so. The opportunity that I had with the Jewish lady was not uncommon in that every day I meet people or have contact with people that need a touch from God. They are all around me. I did think this Jewish woman allowing me to pray for her in Jesus name was a sign of what is taking place in these days. God is doing a mighty work. He is pouring out His Spirit powerfully in so many ways. I cant always stop and lay hands on someone (though the opportunities are becoming more frequent) but I can still pray for them as I drive or walk or work. How do I know what to pray for? I dont always but I try to be led by the Word and the Spirit of God. I always try to let compassion and mercy lead me and of course sometimes I even ask questions! You might be surprised at how easily someones needs come forth when they are asked with caring compassion a simple question like How are you?, or Is there anything that I can pray for?. Sometimes people will just volunteer their needs in conversation. Its really amazing. If I am listening to hear where theyre at or what their needs are the Holy Spirit is faithful to show them to me. All I have to do is listen, care and treat them as I would want to be treated. Most of the time that means either sharing a testimony that may be relevant or offering them some prayer. Sometimes, of course, its just giving someone a ride or a smile or an atmosphere of Gods Presence. Earlier today our neighbor came by to ask if I could fax something for her. I knew she had had some health problems so I asked her how she was feeling. She began to share about her illness and that she was having to undergo chemotherapy. I felt for her. My dad had to go through that and I know how miserable it can be. I asked her if later on tonight Annie and I could anoint her with oil and pray for. She welcomed that! I dont know if God will heal her or not. What I do know is that she knows that someone cares. Hopefully she will be healed in many ways.

www.kauaihop.com All around us are the needs, the cries of the multitudes who would be healed, who would be touched by Jesus. He has called us to be Rescuers. He has called us to be Healers and Deliverers. He has called us to be Comforters. Each of us has a testimony of how Jesus has touched our lives. Most of us have many. I would encourage you to Prophesy! 1Cor.14:1- Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy.
