Pecan Street Festival


Saturday, Sept. 24, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Pecan Street Festival is an Austin tradition showcasing artwork by artists from around the United States. Shop for art, jewelry, sculptures, candles, woodworks, games, and cowboys hats, while enjoying food and music from local artists. The festival is on 6th Street, between Brazos St. and Interstate 35.

A representative from St. Edwards University in Austin will be at TIEP on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 12:301:30 p.m., to answer admissions questions about the university. If you are interested in applying to St. Edwards, you should plan to stop by her table in the Lobby and talk with her.

Restaurant Week
September 2528 October 25 Its restaurant week in Austin! Many nice restaurants are offering a special 3-course menu for $25 or $35 per person. Its a good time to try out an expensive restaurant, but you must have reservations. Go to: http://restaurantweekaustin.com to see the list of participating restaurants and make reservations.

Austin Museum Day


Sunday, Sept. 25 All of the museums in Austin are free this Sunday! Go with your friends or family and explore a new museum. Many museums will have special exhibits and activities on Sunday. Here are some of the museums participating in Museum Day:

Around the World in 80 Bites International Food Fair Saturday, Sept 24, 2011 7:008:30 p.m. UT Baptist Student Union building 2204 San Antonio St. (next to the Co-op parking garage) Walk around and visit tables to sample bites of international foods. The idea is to taste the cultures and enjoy the global cultures and people. You can wear traditional clothes from your country. If you would like to participate by bringing food to the fair, please e-mail Robbi at robbiutbsm@gmail.com.
