Introduction: First Aid is medical attention done at the scene of an accident.

You
perform first aid if someone is hurt or having a fit, you must only perform first aid if
you are qualified. First Aid is used by all kinds of people such as paramedics,
teachers, physeos, nurse, doctor, and the army and also sports teachers use it. If a
person is injured but is still in danger E.G being attacked by a shark then don’t dive in
and help wait until it is safe then help the person. You must not perform first aid if
you are putting your self in danger. There are also serious risks involving blood
transmitted diseases such as the most common one AIDS which can be passed
through blood sex and slither.

Chemical burns

First of all start cooling the burn immediately under running water for at
least 10 minutes if its bad, Dial 999 for an ambulance. Make the casualty
as comfortable as possible, lie them down. Continue to pour cold water
over the burn for at least ten minutes or until the pain is relieved.

Whilst wearing disposable gloves, remove jewellery, watch or clothing

from the affected area - unless it is sticking to the skin. Cover the burn
with clean, non-fluffy material to protect from infection.get a clean
plastic bag or kitchen film. Then treat for shock.

Heat burns

FIRST DEGREE burns are the least severe. Redness or discoloration, mild
swelling and pain characterize them. Overexposure to the sun is a common
cause of first-degree burns.

SECOND DEGREE burns are more serious. They are deeper than first
degree burns, look red or mottled and have blisters. They may also involve
loss of fluids through the damaged skin. Second-degree burns are usually the
most painful because nerve ending are usually intact, despite severe tissue
damage.

THIRD DEGREE burns are the deepest. They may look white or charred,
extend through all skin layers. Victims of third degree burns may have severe
pain -- or no pain at all -- if the nerve endings are destroyed.

Electric shock
Don't touch them! Unplug the appliance or turn off the power at the control panel. If
you can't turn off the power, use a piece of wood, like a broom handle, dry rope or dry
clothing, to separate the victim from the power source. Do not try to move a victim
touching a high voltage wire. Call for emergency help. Keep the victim lying down.
Unconscious victims should be placed on their side to allow drainage of fluids. Do not
move the victim if there is a suspicion of neck or spine injuries unless absolutely
necessary. If the victim is not breathing, apply mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. If the
victim has no pulse, begin cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Then cover the
victim with a blanket to maintain body heat, keep the victim's head low and get
medical attention.

Chemical in eye

Immediately flush the eye with water or any other drinkable liquid. Hold the eye
under a faucet or shower, or pour water into the eye using a clean container. Keep the
eye open and as wide as possible while flushing. Continue flushing for at least 15
minutes. Do not use an eyecup. If a contact lens is in the eye, begin flushing over the
lens immediately. This may wash away the lens. Do not bandage the eye. Seek
immediate medical treatment after flushing.

Cuts
Stop the bleeding. Minor cuts and scrapes usually stop bleeding on their own. If they
don't, apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth or bandage. Hold the pressure
continuously for 20 to 30 minutes. Don't keep checking to see if the bleeding has
stopped because this may damage or dislodge the fresh clot that's forming and cause
bleeding to resume. If the blood spurts or continues to flow after continuous pressure,
seek medical assistance.

Scold

You can get scolds from liquid substances. If you encounter an accident and get
scolded run it under the water for 10-15 minutes if the injury is survive go to the
hospital or call 999.if the scold starts to bleed u should apply a plaster of if it gets
irritating and painful apply a bandage.

Inhaled gas

If the victim has inhaled a gas gently take them outside and to breath fresh air if the
victim feels sick try not to make them vomit if the victim is still ill, ring for a doctor
or take to the hospital.

Swallowed gas

If someone has swallowed chemicals rinse their mouth out with cold water try not to
make the victim vomit if the victim feels ill take them outside to get some fresh air if
they still feel ill take to the hospital.

• Wear suitable eye protection
• Use a fume cupboard for all but test-tube amounts of the gas and more con
Assessing the risk
• What is the chance of some thing going wrong
• Solution spraying out
• How bad would be if some thing happened alkaline In the eyes may cause my
cause more danger then acids would
• How can the risk be controlled
• Think about if you need to clear the area and should you use goggles or gloves
to contain the problem and if to dangerous call for help
