STATMENT OF PURPOSE
Success is a journey not a destination, this we all know. An incessant urge to learn and explore, an aspiration to strive for excellence and an ambition to be a part of a fast growing technological world have been the principal guiding forces throughout my career. In this ever changing world of engineering technology where each day sees a spate of new concepts and applications and each passing day makes them obsolete, it is essential to keep pace with the latest technology and continuously update ones knowledge. The caliber to match international parameters is the vital need of the hour. Therefore, to attain the highest level of education and explore new horizons in my chosen field of study, I have decided to pursue my graduate study (M.S) in Telecommunications which is in relation with Electrical Engineering. My academic record has been very promising. My school life has a tremendous impact on my personality; right from my 5th grade, my teacher adored me for good performance and politeness. I was the School Vice captain and have participated in various District level and School level competitions and was awarded 11 merit certificates for Throw ball, 6 for General Profiency, 3 for Painting, 1 for Shuttle Badminton, 1 for National Level Mathematics Aptitude & 1 for Computer Basics Competition during 1995-2001. My innate strength has always been Mathematics and Physics and I opted for the same in my 10+2 level. My efforts brought out a highly respected percentage of 92.9%. My diligence, perseverance and integrated effort helped me to get through the engineering entrance examination into one of the top colleges. The childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day as stated by John Milton. Right from my childhood, I was fascinated by the multitude of electrical and electronic devices around me and eventually developed a strong inclination to explore this exciting field. My nascent attraction to the field of Electrical & Electronics led me to choose Electrical and Electronics Engineering in GITAM College of engineering.

GITAM College of engineering is one among the top 10 of all accredited colleges in the terms of research and infrastructure facilities with the motto Strive, Thrive, Serve. It was a proud moment when I obtained admission in to this institution. The well organized curricula, infrastructure facilities coupled with experienced and dedicated faculty helped me gain an in depth knowledge of subjects like IT fundamentals, Electric Circuit Theory, Electrical Machines, Electrical Measurements, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Electro Magnetic Field Theory, Control Systems, Power Electronics, Digital Signal Processing, in later semesters with High Voltage Engineering and HVDC Transmission as electives in my final year, the course provided a thorough foundation to facilitate my understanding of the fundamentals. My schedule at engineering college was filled with intense study and focused work for research and a variety of technical projects. I was active on many other fronts too. As an active member I was involved in organizing various seminars, presentations and quiz competitions. I have presented a paper titled GPS in Power Systems, in Impulse 06, National Level Technical Symposium conducted on 21st January 2006 by Elite in association with Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. Apart from acquiring knowledge on theoretical aspects I had made a constant endeavor to acquire practical knowledge as well. During my course work I had gone through a four week industrial training in Steel melt shop department at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant which offered me an in depth knowledge of Control System engineering, relay drives, sensors, PLC and computer control of processes. I have been following the trends in the information technology industry very closely since my school days. I never wanted to be left behind and kept myself updated. I have good command over software such as MS-DOS, C, MS Office, Windows 9x/2000/XP etc. I have done a project in final year of B.E. The Venin Model Validation for Load Flow Studies. In this, we largely addressed to investigate the validity of the Venin Model in obtaining Q-V characteristics of P-Q loads, the main consideration for analysis of the problem of voltage instability and reactive power management. Normally, in several investigations, as the size of the system increase, the error gets lower.

Here, it seems to be the other way, the error appears to increase with the system size and with also with wide variations in Q. Throughout the course of my study I maintained an average of 8.05 CGPA. Received First prize in a seminar conducted on the Achievements of Michael Faraday in 2003, GITAM., Received Fourth prize in a quiz conducted in GITAM. Participated in throw ball and declared Runners-up in Inter Engineering College Sports meet in 2004, in Gayatri College of Engineering. Also, participated in throw ball and declared Runners-up & in Shot put and won third prize in Intra Mural Competitions held in 2004-2006, GITAM. I am hardworking, scrupulous and sincere by nature with a strong penchant for learning. I derive satisfaction from dedicated work and firmly believe that dedication, deference and diligence are surest means of reaping benefits. I am calm and good humored by nature with ability to work individually as well as in a group. Being a cheerful person with an optimistic outlook to confront success and failure with equanimity, I would be the ideal student for your school. These qualities have kept me in a good stead all along and I am sure will continue to abide by me. Graduate education in United States of America is known for its spirit of innovation that sets a global standard of academic excellence. Your esteemed university with its high quality of intellectual and material resources would provide the right milieu for me to realize my academic and research goals. It would be a great pleasure and honor for me if given a chance to ensue my graduate studies at your university and if given an opportunity to teach or do research work, I would not fall short of your expectations. I hope that you will find me a deserving and creditable student for your renowned university.
