Buddhist Meditations.

Main Obstacles For Doing Meditation (Pancha Nivarana) 1. Desires to five senses via lustful images, smells, sounds, body feelings, foods & drinks. 2. Angry, hate feelings, fight with problems, jealousy, impacts with negative people. 3. Boring, sleepy & dull feelings - staying without courage. 4. Swaying nature of mind or thinking worried experiences about past (i.e. sins, losses & mistakes). 5. Doubted concepts about Dharma, path and fruition in Buddhism. What Is Meditation? Meditation is focusing mind to one subject (Focus) which is not helping to collect defilements in mind, It can be - breathing, colored circular plate or flowers, sentences about Dharma, feeling like kindness, Some solemn monks use death body, internal body parts and it's uncanny states as focus, Dayana or Jhana or Holding can be achieved because of concentrating mind for a long time towards focus, There have four Jhana related to material world and another deep four related to only non-material world, To get Jhana we need to be achieved five holdings roots, which are given in below sections, Before doing meditation we need some knowledge about Dharma or guidance of good mentor, Also you need good devotion to Buddha, Dharma, Sangha and your spiritual teacher. It is good doing meditation in front statue or pictures of Lord Buddha or your desired god. Good directions for doing meditation are North or East. Pose must be comfortable for your body conditions. You need silence place (under the tree, temple, silence room, etc) and calm mind to doing meditation, Observing five precepts & courage are important factors for concentrating mind for a long time, Meditation methods can be chosen according to your likeness & skills or according to your character. Meditative Focusing Methods In Theravada Buddhism (Samatha Bawana) Samadhi or Concentration - Earth (Clay Plate) - Water (Round Pond) - Fire (Flame of Lamp) - Air (Swaying Object) - Blue colored circle - Gold colored circle - Red colored circle - White colored circle - Light (i.e. Moon) - Space (Hole in Plate) - Attain miracle powers - Attain all Jhana - Need good teacher - Want big persistence - Want pure precepts Continually Thinking on Meditative Sentences Buddha Dharma Sangha Precepts Donations Gods Understandings on Meditative Sentences - About death - Internal organ of body - Death body - Breathing - Body movements - About Nibbana Soft Feelings with Meditative Sentences Loving kindness Clemency Happiness or delight Equality or indifferent

Five Holdings Roots Of Jhana (Samadhi Angha) Keep binding mind with focus - means mind should only think about focus. Sustain that keeping with focus - trying to separate other feelings except focus. Happiness - noble happy get after remove your negative thoughts. Comfortable or weightless - body become weightless and cool, so it help to further concentrating. Concentrating - finally mind only absorb focus, mind will not swaying or insane. Four Miracle Roots (Satara ErrdiPadha) There have four facts for practice attaining miracle powers from 4th Jhana in meditation, Likeness : firstly we need likeness to meditation and earn relevant mind power (e.g... Telepathy). Persistence : secondly we want middle level persistence to set a goal & achieve it. Binding Mind : then we want to bind mind into only that goal or auto-suggestion about goal in every time. Investigation : also we want to investigate or learn about how it achieve or learn it from good teacher. Material Jhana (Rupa Dayana) & Non-Material Jhana (Arupa Dayana) All five holdings roots (listed above section) accomplish with first Dayana, By neglecting with sane above first & second roots, second Dayana can be achieved, From neglecting happy third Dayana can be achieved - means this state have only comfortable, Fourth Dayana have only concentrating mind to focus, by neglecting comfortable, In fourth Dayana mentally saint can see light sphere or equal omen (nimitta) with any meditation types, Now we want to concentrate our mind into this light as new focus, but not previous focus. This fourth Dayana help to learn and improve super natural powers (ESP) like walking in space, Example : If someone got fourth Dayana as focus like gold color, he can create gold things on meditation, After these four Rupa Dayana, we can attain Arupa Dayana by thinking infiniteness of below things. Infinite Space (Akasanacayatanupaga) - By thinking infinitive space or space round the mental light, Infinite Consciousness (Vianacayatanupaga ) - By neglecting mind light then focusing into own mind, Nothingness (Akicaayatanupaga ) - By neglecting even mind by considering nullity as focusing omen, Neither-Perception-Nor-Non-Perception (Nevasaanasaayatanupaga deva) - By neglecting all identifications include void, i.e. via neglecting feeling, impact of mind, etc... Brahma Living (Loving-kindness, Clemency, Delight & Equations) meditations can be done in two types : - Focusing to infinitive number of beings like as infinitive beings in universe or - Focusing to oneself then own respected people then gradually spread it into vast group of beings. Practicing Jhana for a long time is helping to rebirth your next life in Great Heavens or Brahma Loka.
