Delta Waves - (0.5 - 3 waves/sec) - Deep sleep. This state is necessary for
complete rest and regeneration of the body.
Hello ,first off I was wondering who invited me to the list, secondly I
noticed from the deeptrance site that hermetics can probably be discussed
so I'm happy that whoever invited me.
In my own studies I have come to the conclusion that keter, binah, hokmah
correlate to delta brainwaves, gevurah, tipheret, hesed correlate to theta,
netzach, yesod, hod correlate to alpha, malkut to beta and dath to the
intersection point of theta and delta.
I'd like to hear some opinions on this and if anyone thinks it's accurate
and if soin what ways might it be useful. I have been able to think of a
specific use for accelerated learning & I am about to begin remoteviewing
training based on my knowledge of guided meditations and brain waves(home
made program) and feel this might be helpful if it is accurate , but I am
unsure.
Carolyn Myss attempted one such integration (of the Tree of Life and the
Chakra system) in her book "Anatomy of the Spirit", and, in my opinion, it
left much to be desired.
I enjoy working with alchemical emblems, because they act directly on the
subconscious, and in order to truly understand them, one has to contemplate
them for quite some time. Eventually, a person experiences a flash of
intuitive understanding leading to a shift in consciousness.
It is true that as you meditate for a longer time, you are able to enter
deeper levels of consciousness, and to access deeper and deeper levels of
theta, and ultimately delta (here you wouldn't need any sleep any more),
while remaining fully conscious. And, sure, as you meditate for longer
periods of time, you would get closer and closer to the experience of
Oneness (Kether level of consciousness).
Just because a person is able to enter alpha or theta state and remain
conscious, does not mean that a person has any understanding of the
symbolism presented through a Tree of Life.
I'm not sure how accurately the rest of your assumption will work. You can
test it and make your own discoveries.
Brain waves have been divided into roughtly seven categories. There is
some disagreement as to where one brain state ends and the other begins,
but generally speaking, neurologists use the following schema:
The abbreviation (Hz) behind each of the numbers stands for Hertz, which is
a way to measure the frequency of vibration. It is the same as a cycle per
second. 1 Hz = 1 cycle per second (cps)
When the person's activity drops below 0.5 Hz, the person is classified as
brain dead.
Delta is the domain of sleep. In delta there are no mental images and no
awareness of the physical body. Most people experience sleep in these
delta states. However, some notably seasoned meditators, can experience
and altogether different state. Such a person reports being aware of
himself, not as a person or a body, but rather as a point of "still
awareness".
In Theta there can be visual images. Such images can seem very real, and
in some of the lower Theta states there is little or no sense of the
physical body. A person may experience his body as a field of energy or as
if parts of his body are floating in the air, unconnected to other parts.
The list of possible bodily "aberrations" in Theta is quite large.
Theta is the ideal state for some types of accelerated learning, self-
programming and psycho-immunology (self-healing).
In Alpha, unlike Theta and Delta, a person is aware of his or her body.
The body is relaxed, which is why Alpha training is so effective in stress
management. Alpha has also been documented to accelerate learning.
