guys thanx to someone iam able to upgrade my galaxy tab from 2.2 froyo into 2.3.3 gingerbread and guess what whole process bugs free so here iam-----

Pre Upgrade Instructions:

Ensure that you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab P 1000 and not similar looking models like P1010 or even any such other Galaxy Tabs or else you will brick your Tab or some of the functionalities might not work. Also, most importantly note that only Network free Galaxy Tabs can be updated with the procedure which is mentioned below. Create a backup of all the Contacts, Messages, Applications, Images, and Videos as in the due course of the firmware update your device will be completely wiped which will eventually erase all the things in your phone, though after creating the backup you can easily restore back all the contents including the Call log too which too can be backed up. Your Samsung Galaxy Tab P 1000 should be charged to more than 50% so as to facilitate the smoother firmware update as the firmware update generally requires higher battery life though higher the battery life is always better. It’s highly recommended to close all the Antivirus programs, firewall software applications including the softwares like KIES etc. as these softwares may prevent the firmware upgradation and also is advised to remove memory card or the SIM card if any so as to further ensure that data is not lost in these mediums. Installing this firmware doesn’t mean that you will have to root the device or void the warranty as the only way you can void the warranty is when you Root the Galaxy Tab.

Procedure to update Galaxy Tab P1000 with Gingerbread 2.3.3:

1. First up you will have to download the complete firmware package (link below) which contains all the files which are related to the firmware update right from the firmware update to the PIT file to the Odin which will be required for the firmware update.

http://androidadvices.com/downloads/....3.3_P1000.zip

2. now download the latest version of odin3 v1.7, u can find it anywhere easily 3. After downloading the package you will have to unzip to get the same. Please note that you will have to unzip the package after downloading and in the process of unzipping if it prompts you to enter the password then you will have to enter password as “androidadvices.com” and then the files will have to be extracted to the desktop. 4. Now, next up you will have to open the Odin’s exe file which is Odin3 v1.7 as shown above from the downloaded package after which you will see that a pop up screen will be launched which will look like the below shown screen shot.

5. Up next, just open the Odin, in the Option list as shown below, you will have to check 2 options in the Option field which are “Auto Reboot” and also the “F:Reset Time”. now you will have to next choose the PIT file.

6. After this you will have to put the Galaxy Tab in the download mode which can be done by holding the volume down button you will have to switch ON the device as shown in the below pictured manner.

7. So, now after entering in the download mode as shown in the above screen you will have to connect your device to the computer with the data cable and need to make sure that the ID:COM box glows yellow which means that all the device drivers are loaded successfully and you are ready to proceed for the rest of the steps ahead. You will have to enter in the options as mentioned below, Please note that apart from the below options don’t choose any other options.

8. Now, as soon as the yellow light is turned ON, there you go you can now hit on the Start button after which you will have to wait for a while till the Green colored “PASS” box is not shown up which is shown below. It may take 3-5 minutes to show up this box which is shown below.

9. So, that’s it you have now successfully upgraded to the new latest firmware of 2.3.3 gingerbread version for your Galaxy Tab. Now to simply find via the code whether you have upgraded the firmware or not successfully, all you need to do is to just simply enter in the code as *#1234# after which you will be able to see the device’s version number along with the firmware version in detail easily. Do, let us know if you face or any issues while updating the firmware of your Samsung Galaxy Tab. Do, let us know if you face any sorts of issues as w will help you to get out of the same. Please note that, since you have installed the new firmware you will have to again configure all important settings so as to enjoy the services like before and also you will have to reset the phone once after the firmware update.

Note: In an unlikely event if the firmware doesn’t update successfully then you will have to re follow the instructions to update with the same.

No real need for any of this. Just go to the Overcome thread, download the PDF guide which has links to the stock rom and then the custom rom for safe upgrading. The guide is easy to follow and has all the needed information.

I tried this on my CDMA Tab yesterday, took a few hours, got it to boot, hung on samsung logo, i am digging the Samsung boot logo though. No other response, still trying to flash it back to stock verizon, finding stock verizon PIT file was hard, took awhile, it keeps failing, but Ill let it charge back up, try again later. Oh, lol I own 3 Tabs, was doing this to my "bitch" tab. the one I flog with different roms. __________________ DX~~~Blurrybread GB VZW Galaxy Tab VZW Galaxy Tab HC Port. My guinea pig tab. I'm also stuck on the Samsung logo. I've reset a couple of times, and also factory reset. When I factory reset I get an error (in red text): E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10 This error happens immediately after: Formatting /dbdata... Any help appreciated - but please be gently 'cos I'm an Android noob

I am very much a noob at this, but I have managed to get 2 other ROMs flashed in the past. You all say this is for GSM tabs only, but aren't these baby's all inclusive? Meaning they are capable of CDMA and GSM? I am assuming that you mean if you want to use the CDMA function, do not use this ROM. I bought my Galaxy as a stock Bell (CDMA) tab, and swapped it into a Rogers (GSM) device VERY easily. Side note: I am attempting this flash as I write this, will edit as success happens

Hello Mate, You gave a very detailed information about upgradation of the Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 to Gingerbread OS. But one vital information was missing. That the Kies software must be shut down prior to start of update. Because otherwise the port is unavailable to Odin3. Pardon my ignorance, but I tried getting around, before it struck me that I should try shutting down Kies ... Maybe this may help some of the noobs like myself. Thanks for all the details. Best Regards,

Samir

That is the latest Arabic froyo build. Yes you can upgrade to JQ1. just be sure to unsign bootloaders with chainfire patch and root using superoneclickroot first before upgrade. Use Chainfire's method here in the forum, use search don't ask for procedures as it is all on the thread already,no need to repeat here.... Good luck __________________ Galaxy Tab P1000 GINGERBREAD OFFICIAL ASIAN EDITION

This version of gingerbread rom was not meant for your tablet, This is for generic P1000 tabs and not P1000N/L (latin versions). I guess your boot loader is messed up; however your tab is still recoverable Check this thread by humberos http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918722 _vDi_

Worked great for me, thank you very much! GT-P1000, Baseband P1000XXJPZ Now I'll start enjoying. I wonder why, the heck, Samsung has to do this to us, our loyal customers, and make us look for device hacking instead of using the legit ways. It's fun, but still...

Because Samsung does not get anything in return-Samsung is first and foremost a business. On the other hand Apple controls the Apps market so it benefits from updating its OS. That is the drawback of open source. But we must be thankful that there are free and legal work around to the problem. Nobody will get sued for installing a ROM or applying root.... __________________ Galaxy Tab P1000 GINGERBREAD OFFICIAL ASIAN EDITION

Looks like arabic froyo. Yes it can be upgraded/flashed manually. You have to root then patch the bootloader first. Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk __________________ Galaxy Tab P1000 GINGERBREAD OFFICIAL ASIAN EDITION
