Oral communication is,as well as written communication, an own system of rules and norms, just sensitive richer and more

complex, due to extra and para linguistic factors and due to the decisive influence of situational framework. A nuanced analysis made researcher Martin Joos to distinguish five steps of oral communication, which have the same steps of its removal from the rigors of written expression -The style which characterizes the non-cooperative forms of communication,in which the transmitter does not know the receiver and the latest cannot influence in any way the firsts speech. These are radio or television programs, with carefully developed texts just because they know that the absence of the feed-back makes their adjustment impossible in time. -The formal style corresponds to a request to a large audience, whose reactions are, this time, perceptible for the speaker. And in this case, the speech has a high level of coherence, the phrases are carefully constructed of a varied lexical material. The repetitions, the slang expressions or too familiar ones, the ellipses and the beginning of sentences letting in suspension are avoid systematically. -The consultative style is the one of the professional discussions,of business,of negotiations and talks. Here, the speakers participation in the dialogue is active. There is not a detailed plan of communication anymore, but only basic information, enriched in time,in accordance with the requirements of the discussion partners. The absence of a pre development of the speech, causes the appearance of some left lexical items,of hesitations and repetitions,of some expressions which are not entirely correct,or even of disagreements. -The casual style is specific for free conversations between friends. For this time, even the minimum information disappeared,on which the dialogue needed to be built. The participants of the conversation pass unrestricted from one subject to another,in a negligent manner. In addition, here appear elliptical expressions and the use of some terms with special meanings, known for speakers from the previous verbal interactions.Slang elements are quite common.

-The intimate(familiar) style is characterized by the use of a personal code, which does not have anymore the aim to communicate external data, but provides information about the subjects intimate feelings and moods. So,referential funtion is completely overshadowed by the expressive function, emotional function of the communication. Jooss classification has the merit of pointing out that,in different circumstances,we speak different languages, known to all members of the social group, but atternated by the requirements. What distinguishes the language of sociolinguistics is precisely that the first is dealing with a single and unitary language, while the second has many parallel ways of verbal communication. If linguistic focuses on language unit, sociolinguistic especially insists on diversity, determined both by the variety of the speakersstatutes, and the context in which communication takes place. The diversity of communication gives birth to other finer distinctions, between oral addressing modes. In this category, enter speech registers, which correspond the roles that speakers play them in a given context.Coming from theater, the concept of role has a special place in contemporary sociology,it sits at the base of an entire vision of social behavior, whose maximum coherent expression was developed by Ervin Goffman in his works. Enrolled in the theoretical and methodological tradition of Palto Alto school,he combines the symbolic interactionism with other approaches, for example drama analysis,to demonstrate the rhetoric of everyday life.In 1959,Goffman,meets an overwhelming success among sociologists and students;systematically developing the idea that the world is a theater,he shows the contacts and relationship between people as rituals in which mechanisms of identification,of obedience or of recognition obey an implicit grammar. He is taking his through analysis of the rituals during several works, giving great importance to the concept of interaction,he says that every human being possesses a certain image of himself, which tries to push it at every new meeting.Social life is also a glossary full of such situations, and all interlocutors seek above all to be/play a role.It is not to align passive ourselves to a standard, because each of us is trying to impose himself in the

advantageous way for himself. The most banal conversations are in fact small symbolic struggle. Acting in a framework with given characteristics, individuals adopt attitudes and behaviors(clothing, gestures, speech) deduced from the practice of social interaction, which alternates them after certain circumstances.Over a single day,we can play the role of being sons, parents, subordinates, chiefs, patients and buyers.Without specifying the role relationship between people who interact, the choose of variey of language appropriate for the meeting,of the register of communication, suffers. The role is therefore a crucial factor in establishing the registry, that elects him from the variety of different modes of expression learned by an individ in his lifetime.
