PATENT ATTORNEY
Vacancy number 11.007 Position As patent attorney you are responsible for the protection of KeyGenes intellectual property and the development thereof. You will have a close interaction with our scientists and will discuss and examine their work on patentability. Furthermore, you will be responsible for patent reviewing, drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in co-operation with external patent agencies. You will co-ordinate the patent portfolio and will be responsible for the adequate maintenance thereof. You will initiate and co-ordinate opposition and appeal procedures. You will report to our VP Technology & Trait Mechanisms and will support him with the further development and management of a coherent and commercially valuable patent portfolio. You will keep a close eye on KeyGenes strategic and business interests. In addition, you will contribute to creating maximal IP-awareness within our organization and further enhancing the knowledge of our scientists about patent matters. You will co-ordinate patent landscaping (studies) and prior art patent analysis. Furthermore you will advice the VP Legal Affairs on the enforcement of the patent portfolio. Your profile We are looking for a candidate who has: * Relevant intellectual property experience; a qualified European patent attorney or close to passing the qualifying examinations; * Relevant scientific degree in biotechnology/life sciences. Experience in agro biotechnology is a pre; * Relevant experience in an international biotechnology/life sciences environment; * Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; * The characteristics accuracy, punctuality and focal point on quality. Furthermore, we are looking for a strong communicator, with excellent skill to use the English language aptly and accurately, especially in writing.
