Kelly sweats is all out on stage
took NYP by storm when she was
here to promote her latest album
‘Zai Shi Jie Zhong Xin’ also known
as ‘In the Heart of the World’.
With a wholly new look and
sizzling sexy dance moves,
Kelly dazzled and wowed her
ever supportive fans at NYP’s
auditorium performing her latest
super hit - “Shakalaka Baby”
along with other favourites from
her albums. She greeted her
fans cheerfully and exchanged
pleasantries with them once she
hit the stage.
Clad in a Taiwanese inspired
fashion style, Kelly danced and
performed alongside her talented
dancers. The alluring songstress
had the entire auditorium
captivated in her energetic, sexy
dance movements, and did the
melody of her soft timbre voice
as she belted out the lyrics to
her songs. Kelly made the day a
memorable one when she engaged
the audience into learning the
dance moves to her acclaimed
song, “Shakalaka Baby”. She had
the entire crowd boldly dancing
her songs throughout her concert.
The cheerful songstress also
spent some time addressing
her fans where she expressed
her appreciation to them and
encouraged them to buy her
latest album before she ended the
concert and proceeded for a short
autograph session outside the
auditorium.
During a short interview with
CATCH!, Kelly reveals more about
herself.
“Whenever I’m away from home,
I miss my family and friends. I’ve
also missed the food here and my
bed! And, my lifestyle at Taiwan
has been very stressful due to the
training and activities, but I try
my best not to let those feelings
affect me much.”
Kelly sheepishly added that
whatever happens she’ll give her
utmost best. She also quipped
that her experience while making
her album has been fruitful and
advises wanna-be singers to take
up singing lessons like she did and
possess a humble, appreciative
and hardworking character.

A song that vividly echoes and further amplifies Kelly’s new image and style, “Shakalaka Baby” has topped
the local radio station 93.3 FM’s top 10 charts flanking other hit songs. It has appeared on the top 5
positions consecutively for 6 weeks since the album launch. Kelly’s sweet voice now has an edge to it,
thus adding a much appreciated dimension to her strong vocals. Kelly has much to be proud of her
latest album as she has been working with the much acclaimed veteran producer Yao Qian (who has
produced for Coco Lee, A-Mei and other famous Taiwanese artistes).

To them, their voices are their instruments, their power, and

their passion. And when they unite, they make transcendence.
The VOICE ENSEMBLE promises a performance full of
expression and vibrant vocals. titled “Vita De La Mia Vita” once

Ensemble, “Les Voix” also known
as The Voices was a phenomenal
experience that spoke volumes
with its diverse repertoire of choral
pieces that was simply music to the
ears. Their ‘Escapades’ concert held
last year had certainly brought them
praises from all.
The usual elegance...
Held at the campus’ Theatre for the
Arts (TFA), more than 200 people
turned up to watch the evening of
understated classiness. Under the
baton of the talented conductor,
Mr. Ong Kok Leong, the choir of 30
sopranos, altos, tenors and bass
- all very elegantly clad - promptly
launched into their first love song
...with a little more action!
they took the stage.
Conductor Mr Ong was
unquestionably in his forte as he
led the expressive choir who sang
the different styles of choral music
ranging from Shakespearean, to
poetry traditional folksongs like
‘Lenggang’. The singers were
passionate and expressive not only
in their singing but also in their
gestures and simple dance steps like
twirling around, clapping with gusto
and stomping their feet. Needless to
say, their diction was flawless and
clear with the long, flowing lines
splendidly controlled - particularly
when performing some of the
awesome crescendos. The chording
was clear and well balanced, tinged
with resonance and quality. It was
simply a sheer beauty to watch
them sing aloud.
The second half of the concert
featured vocal adaptations of pop
and jazz pieces like “When I fall in
Love” and “Dancing Queen” which
were among some of the favourite
pieces among most audience.
The aura at the TFA was vibrantly
glowing with energy. The songs
definitely left members of the
audience stunned!
Once again, it was an evening of
success for the choir members. The
performance surely spoke volumes
of the hard work, effort and
enthusiasm they had put in.
