You will not only study international business, you will experience it. The Centre for International Business and Policy has been striving to be a leader in providing students and business managers with the skills to understand foreign cultures and business practices and to perceive and grasp overseas marketing and investment opportunities, to overcome language barriers, and to deal effectively with foreign governments and international institutions.
The course enables the participants to understand the working of the global economies and offers a hands-on approach to global management challenges faced by companies, in a global geopolitical environment. The course includes classroom as well as experiential components. It will emphasize interaction with working executives and result-oriented approaches. The aim of the Centre for Risk Management and Insurance (CIRM) of BIMTECH is to turn out management executives who can, so to say, hit the track running.
The Institute is fortunate in having core professionals and experienced faculty to prepare and educate young aspirants to become future managers and leaders in the insurance industry. It will not be out of place to mention that our students are being preferred to others for placement by all the leading insurance companies in India. Some of our students are occupying very good position in these companies. The two year programme in Insurance has been accredited to Associate level by Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai and has also recently received Accreditation by Chartered Insurers Institute UK. There are plenty of opportunities in this sector such as expansion of health insurance and the pension sector, as even in this period of slow down, it is the only industry where new companies are entering the foray. We are looking for students who would take up this challenging task and transform themselves in the process.
The Institute, being the first to launch a professional insurance course in the country in year 2000, has been observing the changes and developments in business for a long time with keen interest, and has envisioned the future growth and expansion of insurance sector in the country. BIMTECH initiated the establishment of a nodal Centre in Insurance and Risk Management Education, Research, Training and Consultancy, CIRM, to fill up the big vacuum of trained professionals in the industry, thus providing a variety of customised services to Insurance Companies, Consultancies and to train educators.
updating the practices prevailing in the global insurance market. To publish journals, magazines, newsletters, books, monographs, etc., for dissemination of knowledge among professionals.

Retail industry has emerged as a sunrise sector and is expected to make a remarkable contribution towards overall economic growth during the next decade-in the same way as contributed by the knowledge-based economy in the recent past. Entry of the leading business houses into the organized retail sector and the well-known international brands waiting to get green signal to enter the field indicate growth potentialities of the sector. Huge gap between demand for and supply of the trained managers has intensified competition for the available managerial talents within the industry.
The Centre for Retail is an initiative to groom qualified work force and educate professionals to play a leading role in promotion of the retail sector in India. Since its inception in 2002 it has been striving to create a new generation of smart retail professionals of international caliber. The Centre aims at enhancing employability of students with the most modern techniques and practices in retailing, as seen and experienced around the world. The approach to classroom education is interactive and based on the three principles of shared learning , namely, explore, participate and learn. Over the years, the Centre has also emerged as a knowledge centre in the field of retail management. In fact, its considerably dependable resource bank has become a ready reference for a sizeable section of the Indian retail industry. E-newsletters and journals, brought out by the Centre, on the business initiatives and evolution of retail are acknowledged within the fraternity and outside.
The Institute has entered into a tie-up arrangement with the following Indian as well as International retail institutions so as to get access to the best resources available in retailing and merchandising. Academic Member of Franchisee Association of India Academic Member of Retailer Association of India National Retail Committee, FICCI Rouen Business School, France Philadelphia University, USA
The Centre for Retail was launched by BIMTECH in 2002, in order to supply quality managers, capable of shouldering responsibilities in a highly competitive retail marketing environment. Our students get apprised of not just all aspects related to retail marketing, but also get in-depth exposure to core management areas such as Marketing Management, Financial Accounting, Organization Behaviour, Quantitative Techniques and Business Economics. This ensures that they would be in a position to shoulder senior managerial responsibilities in future. I am sure our students will always remember BIMTECH as a stepping stone in their future endeavours.
I can attest personally to the high level of intellectual endowment of the faculty and the students of BIMTECH, as LOMA had done a very challenging joint project with BIMTECH in association with USAID and Bearing Point. Our association with BIMTECH is an ongoing one.

We realise that, due to paradigm shift in conducting business, B-schools have to create a space for preparing professionals well versed with intricacies of public policy and sustainable development practices. Its urgency was also highlighted by an International Commission on Education for Sustainable Development Practice (ICESDP), supported by the MacArthur Foundation and based at The Earth Institute, Columbia University, underlined the need of launching such programme. The survey conducted by ICPP covering about 100 thought leaders and development practitioners, also revealed that in India there is acute need of professionals to carry forward the agenda of sustainable development and inclusive growth. Such trained persons are being viewed to play an important and effective role by the corporate, development sector, international and national organisations, research agencies and media, and public organisations. Students and practitioners pursuing PGDM in Sustainable Development (SD) will get challenging and meaningful opportunities for employment with diverse range of institutions and organsiations.
India Center for Public Policy (ICPP) aims to create a platform for debate on public policies and advocacy leading to sustainable development and inclusive growth in the country. One of its objectives is to conduct action research in the areas of public policy and provide policy inputs to central/state governments, public and private sector organisations, donor agencies and international and national NGOs. During its brief existence, ICPP, has organised seminars/workshops/ panel discussions on relevant topics and was associated with developing vision documents for Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttarakhand Governments. It intends to prepare professionals going to work in the areas of public policy and sustainable development and also train man power already associated in the above areas. In order to further the above objective, the center has launched a two years full time Post Graduate Diploma Management Course in Sustainable Development.
