ORIMA 9.20 Installation Issues

General Issues
To install software on Windows XP/Vista you must have Administrator privileges. Either you need to log on as Administrator or ask your Administrator to assign appropriate privileges to your account. ORIMA-LPS requires LPS to work properly. Therefore it is necessary that LPS v9.20 is installed on the computer prior to installing ORIMA. To install LPS please refer to the information provided together with LPS. By default all language versions of ORIMA (English, Spanish, French) will be installed. If you do not want all languages being installed make sure you deselect that language which is not needed during installation. The installation of different language versions of ORIMA in parallel is fully supported e.g. you can have the English and Spanish version in parallel. Project files created by any language version of ORIMA are fully compatible. At the end of the installation process the ORIMA Preference program is launched. It allows you to decide, which language should be used when ORIMA is launched from LPS. The ORIMA Preference program is also installed in "c:\ORIMA_DP\programs". You can start this program later if you want to change the language. The ORIMA Preference program also allows you to define whether the raster images should be displayed always inside the image viewer (Viewplex) or outside

Licensing Issues

The use of ORIMA is controlled by a license mechanism. The license mechanism used by ORIMA is based on FlexLM license technology. This technology supports two types of licenses, either node-based or floating licenses. A node-based license is strictly bound to one workstation. A floating license can be shared by many workstations on a network, it is not bound to a single workstation, but hooked onto a network server. Each license type is hooked to some unique hardware identification, which can be optionally a dongle, a processor ID, an Ethernet adapter ID or a hard disk ID. Based on one of these IDs Leica Geosystems generates a unique license file. ORIMA licenses are always floating licenses. The license file is located on the license server computer. To simplify the management of all Leica Geosystems licenses, Leica Geosystems provides a software tool called License Management. This tool allows specifying the name of the license server. Furthermore it shows the currently available number of licenses.

Licensing Issues

For the floating license the License Server, which is software, must be installed on the server computer. This software is an operating system service and serves to control all Leica Geosystems licenses on a computer network. The license service must be installed and running on the license server before ORIMA can be executed on one of the network computers. The License Management software is used to register the server computer on the client workstations and to view the currently available ORIMA licenses on the network. ORIMA must be installed on each client computer on the network, on which it will be used. The installation on each client is required to maintain client specific registry entries of ORIMA on each client workstation. It is permitted that all clients share the same executable on the network server. To share the same executable, the same installation directory, pointing to the network server, must be defined during the installation. In case of different ORIMA floating licenses, e.g. one ORIMA-DP-TE/GPS and three ORIMA-DP-TB, ORIMA will pop up a dialog at startup to pick a license.

Installation workflow for floating licenses

1. Install License Server on the license server computer (if not yet

installed)

2. Copy the ORIMA license file to the server computer 3. Stop the License Server (if the service is running)

(To start or stop services on Windows XP, right click on My Computer, select Manage, expand Services and Applications, select Services. Search the ERDAS License Server. Right click on it and select Stop or Start what ever is appropriate.)
4. Use License Server Setup Tool to merge the ORIMA license file with

the existing license file (From Start select Programs then Leica Geosystems Licensing Tools and finally License Server Setup.)

5. Start the License Server 6. On every client computer on the network which will use ORIMA

a.Install ORIMA b.Do not copy the license file on any client computer c.When performing the license registration using License Management the license server name must be registered

Installation workflow for floating licenses

Installing ORIMA for the first time

1. Log on as Administrator 2. Install LPS 9.20 and the latest service pack (if not yet installed) 3. Install ORIMA (Double click "ORIMA_DP.exe") 4. At the end of the installation the License Manager is automatically

launched to register the ORIMA license

5. Log off 6. Log on as ordinary user 7. Use "Start->Programs->Leica Geosystems ->ORIMA->ORIMA" to

complete the installation

8. ORIMA launches and adds entries into the Registry. 9. When asked to confirm registry entries select Yes. 10. From the File menu from the recent file list select any suitable

example project.

11. Verify that project opens up properly. 12. Exit from ORIMA.

To verify the proper installation:

Installing ORIMA for the first time

Installing ORIMA as an update to the previous version of ORIMA

Log on as Administrator. To uninstall the previous version of ORIMA: - Press the Start button on the task bar. - Select Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs - From the list of installed programs select the previous release of ORIMA - After selection press the Remove button.

NOTE: The uninstall process will just remove the software and example data from the system, NONE of your newly created ORIMA project data will be removed. In case you added your camera data directly into the example camera file as delivered with ORIMA make sure you copy this file to a safe place before uninstalling ORIMA! After finishing the uninstall process: Perform steps like installing for the first time.

Start with New Features to learn about the new release of ORIMA. Press the Start button on the task bar. Select Programs ->Leica Geosystems ->ORIMA -> What's New in Orima

Install and use ORIMA-SOCET and ORIMA-LPS on the same system

Both versions must have the same Release number. ORIMA for SOCET SET and LPS can be installed and used on one computer. Projects can be shared among both versions as they use the same data format to store project data. ORIMA-SOCET needs to be installed first. Install it e.g. in directory c:\orima. After installation make sure that ORIMA works properly together with SOCET SET. ORIMA-LPS needs to be installed second. Install it e.g. in directory c:\ORIMA_DP. After installation make sure that ORIMA works properly together with LPS. Make sure you are using the license for ORIMA-DP. Although both versions use the same license they cannot run in parallel. The installation path in the registry will point to the last installation. When ORIMA is started from SOCET SET the "orimadir" variable from the SOCET SET configuration file is used. This is pointing to the ORIMA-SOCET installation. When CAP-A is launched from ORIMA-SOCET it will actually launch the newer version that came with ORIMA-LPS.

Install and use ORIMA-SOCET and ORIMA-LPS on the same

When ORIMA is launched from LPS the installation path is used to locate the executable.

Sharing ORIMA projects with ORIMA-SOCET and ORIMA-LPS

1. The ORIMA project should be created under SOCET SET. 2. Convert the SOCET SET project file into a LPS block file and place the

block file where the SOCET SET project file resides: e.g. "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.prj" and "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.blk". By default ORIMA assumes the project data in: "c:\usr\geoset\data\example\orima".

3. Open the file "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.blk" in LPS. 4. When you then start ORIMA from LPS it will automatically find the

ORIMA project that is located under: "c:\usr\geoset\data\example\orima". ORIMA will load the last image pair into ViewPlex that was used in the ORIMA-SOCET project. As LPS and SOCET SET use different definitions of the pixel coordinate system, the image points displayed in ORIMA fall partially outside the frame. This is fixed by an image reloading, because this will update the inner orientation in ORIMA. LPS.

5. After image reloading you are ready to continue working in ORIMA-

NOTE: If you reopen the project in ORIMA-SOCET you also need to reload the images to update the inner orientation in ORIMA.

ORIMA registry entries

ORIMA stores various settings in the registry. The values stored are user dependent and are updated each time you use any of the save template functions from the ORIMA Settings menu. When ORIMA is installed for the first time it adds a default set of settings to the registry when ORIMA is launched for the first time. As these entries are maintained by ORIMA and not by the install process, the uninstall process does NOT remove those entries. This means your personal settings remain valid also after the uninstall of ORIMA. When a new release is installed and ORIMA is launched for the first time after installation, it recognizes the old entries in the registry. It will preserve these personal settings. This way it is assured that your personal settings like window arrangements, colors or wizards are kept on software updates. ORIMA stores its entries under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Leica\ORIMA".

Notas generales
Para instalar el programa en Windows XP se debe tener privilegios de Administrador. Se puede iniciar la sesin como Administrador o se debe pedir al Administrador los privilegios necesarios para su cuenta. ORIMA-LPS requiere que el programa LPS est funcionando perfectamente. Por lo tanto, antes de instalar ORIMA es necesario instalar en su ordenador el LPS v9.20 Para instalar LPS, referirse a la informacin suministrada con el programa LPS. Por defecto se instalarn todas las versiones de ORIMA en diferentes idiomas (Ingls, Espaol, Francs). Si no necesita la instalacin de todos los idiomas, antes de la instalacin asegurarse de desactivar el idioma correspondiente que no sea necesario instalar. La instalacin simultnea de versiones de ORIMA en diferentes idiomas es totalmente permitida, ej. se puede tener Ingls y Espaol en paralelo. Todos los proyectos creados en diferentes idiomas son totalmente compatibles. Al final del proceso de instalacin, se ejecuta el programa de preferencias de ORIMA. Aqu se puede asignar el idioma necesario para cuando se inicie ORIMA desde LPS. Este programa de preferencias de ORIMA se encuentra instalado en "c:\ORIMA_DP\programs" y se puede ejecutar cuando sea necesario cambiar el idioma. El programa de preferencias de ORIMA tambin permite asignar si las imgenes deben ser visualizadas dentro o fuera del visor de imgenes (Viewplex).

Notas sobre licencias

El uso de ORIMA est controlado por un mecanismo de licencias. El mecanismo usado por ORIMA est basado en la tecnologa de licencias de FlexLM el cual permite dos tipos de licencias: nodo y flotante. Una licencia nodo est restringida a una estacin de trabajo. Una licencia flotante puede ser compartida por varias estaciones de trabajo, no est restringida a una estacin de trabajo pero est conectada a un servidor de red. Cada tipo de licencia est relacionado con un identificador de componente nico que puede ser una mochila, el identificador de un procesador, el identificador del adaptador Ethernet o el identificador de un disco duro. Tomando en cuenta uno de estos identificadores, Leica Geosystems genera un archivo de licencia nico. Las licencias de ORIMA siempre son licencias flotantes. El archivo licencia estar ubicado en el ordenador servidor de licencias. Para simplificar el control de todas las licencias, Leica Geosystems entrega una herramienta llamada License Management. Esta herramienta permite especificar el nombre del servidor de licencias. Adems muestra el nmero de licencias disponibles actualmente.

Notas sobre licencias

En caso de licencia flotante, se debe instalar en el ordenador servidor, el programa License Server. Este programa es un servicio del sistema operativo que sirve para controlar todas las licencias de Leica Geosystems en una red de ordenadores. El servicio de licencias debe ser instalado y ejecutado en el servidor de licencias antes de iniciar ORIMA en alguno de los ordenadores de la red. Tambin en este caso el programa License Management es usado para registrar el ordenador servidor en las estaciones cliente de trabajo y para ver las licencias de ORIMA actualmente disponibles en la red. ORIMA debe ser instalado en cada ordenador cliente de la red en los cuales va a ser usado. Se requiere la instalacin en cada cliente para mantener las entradas del registro especficas de cada cliente de ORIMA para cada estacin cliente de trabajo. Todos los clientes pueden compartir el mismo ejecutable en el servidor de la red. Para compartir el mismo ejecutable se debe definir durante la instalacin, el mismo directorio de instalacin e indicando el servidor de la red. En caso de licencias flotantes diferentes de ORIMA, ej. una ORIMADP-TE/GPS y tres ORIMA-DP-TB, ORIMA se desplegar un dilogo para seleccionar una de las licencias.

Instalar licencias flotantes

1. Instalar el Servidor de Licencias en el ordenador servidor de licencias

(si aun no est instalado)

2. Copiar el archivo licencia ORIMA al ordenador servidor 3. Parar el Servidor de Licencias (si el servicio se est ejecutando)

NOTE: Para iniciar o parar el servicio en Windows XP, clic con el botn derecho en Mi PC, seleccionar Administrar, expandir Servicios y Aplicaciones, seleccionar Servicios. Buscar Servidor de Licencias ERDAS. Clic con el botn derecho sobre ste y seleccionar lo necesario, Parar o Iniciar.
4. Usar la herramienta License Server Setup para incluir el archivo

licencia de ORIMA en el archivo de licencias existente (En Inicio, seleccionar Programas, luego Leica Geosystems License Tools y finalmente License Server Setup.)

Instalar ORIMA por primera vez

Instalar ORIMA como actualizacin de la versin anterior

Iniciar sesin como Administrador. Para desinstalar la versin anterior de ORIMA: Presionar Inicio en la barra de tareas. Seleccionar Configuracin -> Panel de Control -> Agregar o Quitar Programas Del listado de programas instalados seleccionar la versin previa ORIMA Despus de seleccionar, presionar el botn Eliminar.

NOTE: El proceso de desinstalacin eliminar del sistema slo el programa y los datos ejemplos, NINGUNO de los proyectos ORIMA recientemente creados sern eliminados. En caso de que se agregue datos de cmara directamente al archivo ejemplo de cmaras instalado con ORIMA asegurarse de tener una copia de este archivo en un lugar seguro antes de desinstalar ORIMA! Despus de terminar el proceso de desinstalacin: Realizar los mismos pasos que al instalar por primera vez.

Empezar con Lo Nuevo en ORIMA para conocer la nueva funcionalidad. Presionar el botn Inicio en la barra de tareas. Seleccionar Programas -> Leica Geosystems -> ORIMA -> Lo Nuevo en ORIMA

Como instalar y usar ORIMASOCET y ORIMALPS en el mismo sistema

Ambas versiones deben tener el mismo nmero de Versin. ORIMA para SOCET SET y LPS puede ser instalado y usado en un mismo ordenador. Los proyectos pueden ser compartidos en ambas versiones debido a que ambas versiones usan el mismo formato para guardar los datos del proyecto. Primero, instalar ORIMA-SOCET. Instalarlo, por ejemplo en directorio c:\orima. Al finalizar la instalacin, verificar que ORIMA funciona normalmente con SOCET SET. Despus, instalar ORIMA-LPS. Instalarlo, por ejemplo en directorio c:\ORIMA_DP. Al finalizar la instalacin, verificar que ORIMA funciona normalmente con LPS. Asegurarse de usar la licencia para ORIMA_DP. A pesar que ambas versiones usan la misma licencia, estas versiones no se pueden ejecutar simultneamente. La ruta de instalacin en el registro corresponde a la ruta de la ltima instalacin.

Cuando se ejecuta ORIMA desde SOCET SET se usa la variable "orimadir" del archivo de configuracin de SOCET SET, correspondiente a la instalacin de ORIMA-SOCET. Cuando se ejecuta CAP-A desde ORIMA-SOCET, se ejecuta la nueva versin incluida en ORIMA-LPS. Cuando se inicia ORIMA desde LPS, el ejecutable se encuentra en la ruta de instalacin.

Compartir proyectos ORIMA con ORIMA-SOCET y ORIMA-LPS

1. El proyecto ORIMA se debe crear en SOCET SET. 2. Convertir el archivo proyecto SOCET SET en archivo bloque LPS y

poner el archivo bloque junto con los archivos proyectos SOCET SET, ej. "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.prj" y "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.blk". "c:\usr\geoset\data\example\orima".

Esto se corrige al recargar la imagen porque esto actualiza la orientacin interior en ORIMA. ORIMA-LPS.

Registrar datos de ORIMA

ORIMA guarda varios ajustes en el registro. Los valores guardados dependen del usuario y se actualizan cada vez que el usuario usa cualquiera de las funciones de guardar plantilla disponible en el men Ajustes de ORIMA.

Cuando ORIMA se instala por primera vez, la primera ejecucin de ORIMA agregar una serie de datos por defecto en el registro. Como estos datos son controlados por ORIMA y no por el proceso de instalacin, el proceso de desinstalacin NO eliminar estos datos. De esta manera se mantienen vlidos los ajustes personales incluso despus de la desinstalacin de ORIMA. Cuando se instala una nueva versin y ORIMA se ejecuta por primera vez despus de la instalacin, ste reconoce los datos anteriores en el registro, conserva estos ajustes personales y hace una copia de ellos. Entonces agrega los nuevos datos de la nueva versin y restablece los ajustes personales. De esta manera se asegura que los ajustes personales como la disposicin de las ventanas, colores o asistentes, permanecen actualizados con el programa. ORIMA guarda estos datos en "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Leica\ORIMA".

Gnralits
L'installation d'un logiciel sous Windows XP/Vista requiert les privilges d'Administrateur. Vous devez soit tre dans une session ouverte en tant qu'Administrateur de la station, ou alors votre compte doit disposer des privilges d'administrateur. ORIMA-LPS fonctionne avec une installation LPS. Il est donc ncessaire que LPS v9.20 soit install sur l'ordinateur avent d'installer ORIMA. Pour installer LPS se rfrer aux instructions accompagnant le logiciel LPS. Par dfaut toutes les versions linguistiques de ORIMA seront installes (Anglais, Espagnol, Franais). Si vous ne voulez pas installer toutes les versions, assurez vous de dslectionner les langues indsirables pendant le processus d'installation. Vous pouvez utiliser les diffrentes versions linguistiques en parallle, ainsi vous pouvez passer d'une version une autre en cours de chantier. A la fin du processus d'installation, le programme ORIMA Preference sera lanc. Il permet de dfinir la langue de travail lorsque ORIMA est dmarr directement depuis le chantier LPS. Le programme ORIMA Preference est disponible sous "c:\ORIMA_DP\programs". Il est possible de le dmarrer directement depuis cet emplacement, il permet aussi de dfinir si les images doivent tre affiches l'intrieur ou l'extrieur du cadre de la fentre stroscopique (Viewplex).

Gestion des licences

L'utilisation d'ORIMA est protge par une clef logicielle. La technologie utilise par ORIMA est celle de FlexLM, qui permet de grer des licences fixes et flottantes. Une licence fixe est attache de manire permanente un ordinateur. Une licence flottante peut permettre d'utiliser un logiciel ou une version d'un logiciel sur n'importe quel ordinateur reli un rseau, dans la limite des licences effectivement acquises. Chaque licence est associe un objet physique unique, qui peut tre par exemple une clef physique (dongle), un numro de processeur, un numro de disque dur, une adresse Ethernet. A partir d'un de ces identifiants, Leica Geosystems cre un fichier de licence exclusif. Les licences Orima sont toujours flottantes. Le fichier de licence sera sur l'ordinateur serveur des fichiers de licence. Afin de faciliter la gestion des licences Leica Geosystems, un logiciel appel License Management permet de spcifier le nom du serveur de licence et montre le nombre de licences disponibles tout moment.

Le logiciel "License Server Setup" doit tre pralablement install sur le serveur. Ce logiciel permet de distribuer toutes les licences Leica Geosystems sur les ordinateurs d'un rseau. Ce logiciel doit tre lanc avant que ORIMA ne soit lanc sur un des ordinateurs. Dans ce cas, le logiciel "License Management" doit tre utilis pour enregistrer le serveur de licence dans la base de registre des ordinateurs du rseau, il permet aussi de voir le nombre de licences instantanment disponibles. ORIMA doit tre install sur chaque ordinateur du rseau sur lequel on souhaiterait travailler : ceci permet de sauvegarder les prfrences de chaque utilisateur sur son propre systme, dans la base de registre de la machine. Il est aussi possible de partager le mme excutable install sur le serveur : dans ce cas, il faut bien indiquer que le rpertoire d'installation est sur le serveur (au moment de l'installation). Dans le cas o l'on possde plusieurs licences flottantes d'ORIMA, par exemple une ORIMA-DP-TE/GPS et trois ORIMA-DP-TB, ORIMA lance une boite de dialogue au dmarrage pour demander quelle version utiliser.

Installation d'ORIMA en licence flottante

1. Installez si ncessaire le "License Server" sur le serveur de licences

(en gnral le serveur du rseau).

Rptez la procdure d'installation d'ORIMA. Ne recopiez aucun fichier de licence sur aucune de ces machines. Lors de la mise jour de la licence en utilisant " License Management " entrez le nom du serveur de licences la place du nom du fichier de licence.

Premire installation d'ORIMA

1. Ouvrir une session comme "Administrateur" (ou partir d'un compte

disposant des mmes privilges).

2. Installer LPS 9.20 et le dernier service pack 3. Installer ORIMA (Double clic "ORIMA_DP.exe") 4. A la fin de l'installation le "License Manager" est dmarr

automatiquement pour dfinir la licence ORIMA.

5. Quitter le compte "Administrateur" 6. Ouvrir une session comme Utilisateur 7. Utiliser "Dmarrer ->Programmes->Leica Geosystems ->ORIMA-

>ORIMA" pour complter l'installation de registre. s'affiche.

8. ORIMA se lance et inscrit les informations ncessaires dans la base 9. Cliquer "oui" lorsque le message "mettre jour la base de registre" 10. Avec la commande "ouvrir" du menu "Fichier" d'ORIMA, ouvrir un

fichier d'exemple.

11. Vrifier que le projet s'ouvre correctement. 12. Quitter ORIMA.

Effectuer une mise jour d'ORIMA

NOTE: La dsinstallation retire simplement les programmes et les fichiers d'exemples crs lors de l'installation d'origine. AUCUN de vos projets ne sera dtruit. Cependant, si vous avez ajout vos chambres dans le fichier de chambre livr en exemple (Aerial3.cam), recopiez le avant de faire la dsinstallation. Une fois la dsinstallation termine Lire les informations sur les nouveauts de ORIMA.

Comment installer et utiliser ORIMASOCET et ORIMALPS sur la mme machine

Les deux installations doivent avoir le mme numro de version. ORIMA pour SOCET SET et LPS peuvent tre installs et utiliss sur une mme machine. Les chantiers peuvent tre partags entre les deux installations car elles utilisent les mmes formats de donnes. ORIMA-SOCET doit tre install en premier. Par exemple installer sous c:\orima. A la fin de l'installation, s'assurer que ORIMA fonctionne correctement avec SOCET SET. ORIMA-LPS doit tre install en second. Par exemple installer c:\ORIMA_DP. A la fin de l'installation, s'assurer que ORIMA fonctionne correctement avec LPS.

Comment installer et utiliser ORIMA-SOCET et ORIMA-LPS

S'assurer que l'on utilise bien la licence pour ORIMA-DP. Comme les deux installations utilisent la mme licence, une seule installation peut fonctionner la fois. Le chemin d'installation dans le registre va pointer vers la dernire installation. Quand ORIMA est dmarr depuis SOCET SET, la variable "orimadir" du fichier de configuration SOCET SET sera utilise. Quand CAP-A est dmarr depuis ORIMA-SOCET, il lancera en fait la nouvelle version qui vient depuis ORIMA-LPS. Ce processus est transparent pour l'utilisateur. Quand ORIMA est dmarr depuis LPS, le chemin d'installation est utilis pour localiser l'excutable.

Comment partager des chantiers ORIMA entre ORIMASOCET et ORIMALPS?

Le chantier ORIMA devrait tre cr sous SOCET SET. Convertir le projet SOCET SET en fichier block LPS, et placer le block LPS dans le mme rpertoire que le projet SOCET SET: par exemple "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.prj" et "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.blk". Par dfaut ORIMA assume que les donnes du chantier sont sous: "c:\usr\geoset\data\example\orima". Ouvrir le fichier "c:\usr\geoset\data\example.blk" dans LPS. Au dmarrage de ORIMA depuis LPS, il cherchera automatiquement le chantier ORIMA situ sous : "c:\usr\geoset\data\example\orima". ORIMA chargera dans le ViewPlex le dernier couple d'image utilis dans le projet LPS. Comme LPS et SOCET SET utilisent diffrentes dfinitions du systme de coordonnes pixel, les graphiques des points affichs dans Orima peuvent se trouver l'extrieur du cadre des images. Il faut alors recharger les images, et donc mettre jour l'orientation interne dans ORIMA, pour rsoudre ce problme d'affichage. Aprs avoir recharger les images, vous tes prt continuer le tavail sous ORIMA-LPS. Il est possible de r-ouvrir le chantier sous ORIMA-SOCET, il faut ici aussi recharger les images pour mettre jour l'orientation interne dans ORIMA.

ORIMA, comme la plupart des logiciels Windows, inscrit un certain nombre de prfrences dans la base de registre de l'utilisateur. Ces valeurs sont mises jour chaque fois que vous utilisez une fonction de sauvegarde du programme, notamment dans le menu "Prfrences".

Lorsque ORIMA est excut pour la premire fois, des valeurs par dfaut sont inscrites dans la base de registre. Ces valeurs tant gres par ORIMA et non pas par le programme d'installation, le fait de dsinstaller ORIMA n'effacera pas les donnes de la base de registre. Ceci signifie que, dans le cas o vous mettez jour ORIMA, vos prfrences antrieures resteront valables, car elles seront prises en compte par la nouvelle version de ORIMA lors de la premire excution. Les donnes sont ranges dans "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Leica\ORIMA"
