"Aoraba atrapar toda la belleza que me pasara por delante y, a la larga, creo haber satisfecho tal anhelo" Julia Margaret Cameron (1815-1879) A da de hoy, nadie puede sentirse tan especial por hacer fotografas. Hasta un nio, entre Mario y Pokmon, puede hacerlas con su Nintendo DS. Con su cmara Fisher Price. Con su mvil. Y despus, imprimirlas en papel grande, pequeo, adhesivo, metlico, acuarela, taza, cojn... enviarlas por MMS, por e-mail, subirlas a Flickr, Fotolog, Tuenti, Facebook, al blog... Nunca antes hubo tantos ojos detrs de una cmara. La democracia digital, aparte de aplastar con su rodillo al viejo mundo analgico, ha permitido que todo hijo de vecino sea capaz de hacer fotos. Porque "es ms barata" y porque "con la digital, la foto siempre sale bien, y si no, se borra". Ya no es necesario saber fotografa para obtener imgenes que "salgan bien". Ahora es tan sencillo aburrir a los amigos y parientes con cuatrocientas o mil fotos que "mira qu bien han salido"... Cielos, ha ganado algo la fotografa? Sin duda, s. Si tan slo uno de cada cien de estos "nuevos fotgrafos" llegase a interesarse de verdad por la fotografa, como arte, como lenguaje... resultara que, de los millones de personas-concmara, habra varios miles que podran considerarse verdaderos creadores... Es una cuestin estadstica. Y es real. En los das de Julia Margaret Cameron, la fotografa era un lujo que slo podan permitirse las personas de clase acomodada. De ah que el colectivo de grandes fotgrafos fuese ms bien reducido. Hoy, basta asomarse a cualquiera de las redes sociales fotogrficas, Flickr, DeviantArt, Ipernity, etc., para abrumarnos con la cantidad de nuevos talentos que desarrollan trabajos a la altura de los masters histricos o de las celebrities del arte actual. Creadores y creadoras que slo necesitan un pequeo impulso para despegar. Y lo mejor: la mayora an no ha cumplido los veinticinco. Es una nueva generacin, plenamente integrada en las antao llamadas "nuevas tecnologas". Hace tan slo 15 aos, conocer a la Sra. Cameron, a los Avedon, Capa, Sherman, CartierBresson... implicaba una bsqueda bibliogrfica que hoy se reduce a unos segundos: Google, Wikipedia, Youtube... en minutos, se obtiene una informacin suficiente para comenzar a conocer la obra de cualquier artista del catlogo de... toda la historia. Adems, la red permite compartir conocimientos, experiencias, bibliografa... y conseguir que el "saber hacer" personal evolucione mediante un continuo feedback transnacional como nunca antes pudo permitirse ningn creador. A esta generacin pertenecen las artistas que conforman este pack de cuatro, este Tetrapack: Ania, Blanca, Irene, Yone. Para ellas, la fotografa y todas las tecnologas que la rodean, tanto de edicin como de difusin, son una forma natural de expresin, de dilogo, de creacin. A travs del lenguaje fotogrfico exteriorizan su mundo, el que ven y el que les sale de dentro. La msica, la moda, la cultura, lo que encuentran aqu y lo que se bajan de all. As pues, las componentes de este Tetrapack s tienen motivos para sentirse especiales. Porque no son como el resto de las personas-con-cmara. A ellas, la flecha del punctum de Barthes les ha atravesado y les ha llevado a formarse en fotografa. Les ha animado a compartir su obra y experiencias en las redes sociales. Y gracias a la oportunidad que les ha brindado el ser ganadoras del certamen Gazte Klik, tambin les ha trado hasta aqu, a la que es su primera exposicin. Es un pequeo impulso para ellas. Seguro que no les falta energa y timn para mantener el rumbo y llevar su trayectoria a buen puerto. Josean Pablos

Alternate Realities

Irene Orozko es una joven artista bilbana que desde muy joven se sinti atrada por la fuerza de las imgenes y su capacidad expresiva. Sus obras se han caracterizado desde el principio por una clara influencia del surrealismo, y por tener en la figura de la mujer una de sus claras fuentes de inspiracin. "Alternate Realities" es una coleccin de imgenes donde ficcin y realidad se entremezclan para recordarnos la belleza de las posibilidades invisibles, ocultas en cualquier rincn del da, que como en aquella sentencia de Edgar Alan Poe ( "toda belleza duerme" ) existen a otro nivel, pero junto a nosotros, esperando la capacidad del artista o el soador para despertarlas: una estacin de tren, una cafetera, una habitacin de hotel en Barcelona o una abarrotada calle de Tokio se convierten en el escenario de un cuento de hadas gracias a las protagonistas de todas sus fotografas. La propuesta de la autora consiste precisamente en esto, en desvelarnos sin tapujos otra forma de ver nuestro entorno, una perspectiva radicalmente naif y al mismo tiempo valiente, que sita la ensoacin no en parasos perdidos o artificiales, sino en el aqu y el ahora, tan real y vigente como cualquier otro asunto cotidiano. Una serie de "realidades alternativas" que nos conducen al particular universo de la fotgrafa y a su forma de reconciliarse con el mundo, un mundo donde todo es posible, slo hay que saber detenerse un instante para poder admirarlo y volver a creer en las hadas.

bibliographies to be shared and enables the evolution of ones personal "know-how" to be achieved through a constant transnational feedback that no creators have ever been able to enjoy before. / The artists that make up this four-pack, this TetraPack, belong to this generation: Ania, Blanca, Irene and Yone. Photography and all the technologies surrounding it are a natural way of expression, of dialogue, of creation for them, in terms of both publication and dissemination. They use the language of photography to exteriorise their world - the one they see and the one that comes from within them. Music, fashion, culture, what they find here and what they download there. / Thus, the ingredients of this Tetra Pack do indeed have reasons for feeling special. Because they are not like other people-with-cameras. The arrow of Barthes punctum has pierced them and led them to train in photography. It has encouraged them to share their work and experiences on social networks. And thanks to the opportunity that winning the Gazte Klik competition affords them, it has also brought them here, to their first exhibition. Just a little boost for them. Irene Orozko is a young artist from Bilbao who has felt attracted by the force of images and their expressive capacity ever since she was a child. From the start, her works have been clearly characterised by the influence of surrealism and inspired by the figures of women. / Alternate Realities is a collection of images in which fiction and reality intermingle to remind us of the beauty of the invisible possibilities hiding in any corner of the day, possibilities that - as Edgar Allan Poe would say (All Beauty sleeps!) - exist at another level, yet they are also beside us awaiting the artists or dreamers capacity to awaken them: a train station, a cafeteria, a room in a hotel in Barcelona or a bustling street in Tokyo become the setting of a fairy tale, thanks to the protagonists of all her photographs. / That is precisely what the authors proposal consists in: a guileless revelation of a different way of seeing our surroundings, a radically naf, yet simultaneously brave perspective that situates the reverie not in paradises lost or artificial paradises, but rather in the here and now, so real and current as any other everyday matter. A series of alternate realities that lead us to photographys unique universe and its way of reconciling itself with the world, a world in which everything is possible. One only needs to know how to stop for a moment to be able to admire it and believe in fairies once again. Irene Orozko
