LESSONS ON PRAYER
BY PASTOR SANTOS YAO MATTHEW 6:10-11
At our conversion, we were adopted into Gods family (Rom. 8:14-15). God is now our Heavenly Father. We became His children. Because of our special relationship with Him, we, as His children will be concerned with what belongs to the Father. And as the model prayer that Jesus taught His disciples would show, our new priority in life would be His name, His Kingdom, and His will. We will seek that His name be shown to be holy... especially in how we live. We will never treat His name with contempt. Nor will we do things that brings shame to the Familys name. We will have a deep desire that His Kingdom rule be extended now as more and more people come to faith in Christ and submit to His Lordship. Such a desire involves a deep commitment and involvement in the Kingdom ministries. We will have the intense desire to seek the quick appearance of His Kingdom. We would, moreover, be obedient to his moral will. We will be determined in aligning our will to His will... our intent and purposes in life to His intent and purposes for our lives. As a Christian, our priority should always be His name... His Kingdom... His will. Nothing less.
