“Come to Me All You Who are Thirsty and Find Living Water”

KEY TEXT
Isaiah 55:1-3

PURPOSE
That we will find the source of living water and many others will drink of that living water.

INTRODUCTION
I believe that great revival will come soon! There is a story of this boy, Yvonne Roberts, at 13
years old, who heard from his pastor to ready himself for revival. For the next 13 years he
began to pray for revival. The more he prayed the greater hunger there was for revival. He
prayed for 10,000 souls to harvest in the great revival.

In 1904, great revival broke out through him.

I want to challenge you. You and I can live in this world to satisfy our own needs and desires.
Everything you do is to satisfy your own flesh but your flesh will perish. It is like trying to fill a
bottomless pit.

God wants to move through you. Through you, other people will come to the river of life and
find a great revival. Why would you choose second best? I choose to pray for revival! Even
this morning, at two, God woke me up and burdened my heart for revival. God is calling us to
dig a well to find living water. This digging is hard work! To dig and find the source of water, it
causes you to be thirstier! But when you find that living water, you and others will be filled and
never thirsty. Once you find living water, you can share this water.

In these end days, God is calling us to pray for great revival. Revival cannot come unless we
start digging to seek the source of living water. We are living in this last generation…through
young people like you God will bring the great revival. That is way the enemy is seeking out
young people and distracting them from God’s plan.

Whether or not you are prepared for the great revival, it will come because it is God’s will. But it
is your choice whether or not to be prepared for this great revival. May God give you hunger for
this revival!

BODY

• V. 1 – "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no
money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without
cost.”

o This living water cannot be bought with anything we have. There is no work that
can get us this living water.
o We must come freely to this river of life…it was not free from God’s side because
He sent His son to pay for this river of life.

o He is inviting you and I to come and drink! God is asking us to be a part of His
work! If we refuse to join His work in this life, we cannot be with Him in the next
life.
***God is inviting you, but the problem is this: people are filling that hunger and thirst
with others things that will not satisfy them!

• V. 2 – “Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not
satisfy?”

o Do not waste your time and money on things that will not satisfy you!
o Example: woman at the well was hungry for something and was filling that
hunger with men. Jesus saw that hunger and told her to drink of living water
so that she would be satisfied eternally.
o Example: King Solomon had 300 wives and 700 concubines…he said life was
meaningless! He had everything in his life but he still said this life was
meaningless!
o When you are young…find God! Find the source of living water so that you will
not search for the things of this world.

• V. 2b-3a – “Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good and your soul will delight in the
richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; hear me that your soul may live.”

o God is saying to come to Him and simply listen to Him! But your mind will not
accept such a remedy! BUT no matter what you do, where you go, who you’re
with…nothing can satisfy you until you listen to God!

• Psalm 36:7 – “How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find
refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you
give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your
light we see light.”

 Where is joy? Where is life? It is in God!

 Why do men hunger and thirst? Apart from God, we are empty.
 In the beginning of time, Adam and Eve decided to depart from God and
separate themselves from God. Adam and Eve were originally meant to
be in union with God. But sin separated us from God when we were
originally made to be filled by God alone.
 We must come back to God to satisfy our hunger!

• John 7:37 – “On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud
voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.”

o This was happening during the Feast of the Tabernacle in Jewish tradition. This
feast celebrated what God had done for their ancestors in the desert.
o During the feast for six days, they went to a river and brought water…symbolizing
what God had done to satisfy their ancestor’s thirst.
o On the seventh day, Jesus stood up and prophesized the Messiah who was
to satisfy all of mankind’s thirst…himself!

CONCLUSION

You have a thirst, a hunger within you. Without satisfying this hunger you will die. But you are
looking after this world to find satisfaction. Jesus says no, come to me who brings living water
and your hunger and thirst will be satisfied!

How? Believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior! Give your life completely to Him, repenting of
your sins in true repentance, Jesus will send us the H.S. who will bring living water. When you
accept Jesus Christ, you will have a living river flowing within you so that you are never
thirsty and others can drink living water from you!

You are a living well where others will find life through you because the H.S. and living water is
within you. The people around you will find life! This is how revival breaks out! God calls you
and if you are a true believer, the living water flows from you! Others will be drawn to that living
water.

Is your living water cloudy and dirty? The dirtiness of sin is tainting your water! By sinning, you
are blocking the living water from flowing within you. You must dig out another well because you
are thirsty again. It takes time and energy but you must find clean water again so that others
will find living water again.

My challenge is this: if you have any sins and idols in your life, repent of your sin and dig
another well to find living water. If you have never believed in Jesus, which is simply playing
God over your own life, then you must repent of your sin!

In coming back to God, you will find living water again. Through you, God will spring living
water and others will come and find living water through you…starting a revival for God!

QUESTIONS

As MSN was preaching, this is the picture I saw. When people are mining and digging for
precious metals, people blow up tunnels within mountains. Some people got really rich from the
metals they found while other people wasted their lives without finding anything. The thing is,
there is a precious reservoir of riches but while digging to that reservoir, you do not see it. The
people who continue to dig although they do not see any precious metals, they are the ones
who hit the jackpot!

You have a 50/50 chance of finding precious metals! In this life, you can do all you want and
still not achieve to the level you desire. Yvonne Roberts dug for the well of revival with a 100%
chance guarantee, knowing that God would give Him what he was seeking. Why would you
spend your life digging for something if you did not have a 100% chance guarantee! Revival in
God’s will is a 100% chance. Do not give up…perhaps you only have 5 more feet to dig! The
reason we do not give up is because there is a 100% guarantee even though we have been
digging for 22 years!

1. What are you thirsty for? Will that satisfy you or will it last?
2. What’s hindering you from coming to Jesus (the only one who will satisfy you)?
3. Are you willing to remove the stones/dirt that is blocking the living water from flowing?
Why or why not?
