Purpose of this Document

The purpose of this document is to delineate the campus requirements for monitoring application that monitors several deployed component in the university, the design of the solution and how the framework can be extended to accommodate more and more functionality as the deployment model for the application grows in terms of volume and complexity.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT:
The following are the software required for the project:
Microsoft Windows NT/XP/vista 1GB RAM IDE: Net Beans / Eclipse

Microsoft SQL Server 2005

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT:
The following are the hardware required for the project:
PC with minimum of 1 GHz. Processor 1GB RAM Minimum 40GB hard disk space. Mouse or Similar Pointing device. A Printer to take out Reports (optional).

The project has three panels namely: 1. Administrator Panel 2. Client Panel 3. User Panel

What the Administrator Panel has to do? Administrator Panel is that section which is associated with providing the services. They manage all the tasks that are to be performed and keep track of the requirements of the clients and users. There main functions are checking for the new user and registering him or if there is existing user then the user can continue doing his task. Secondly, there job is to add new releases (FOR BOOKS) available to the users along with its details like its author, category ETC. And similarly adding results, managing media, academic calander, fees, stocks and so on. What the client have to do? Client first register on the site and mange his account himself. After their registration they can manage themselves and we can provide them with a forum to discuss their daily activities.

What the users have to do? Users can view the various books from their online library, see their results, check their status and any new notices by administrator available which are put by administrator panel on the site. It is only required by the new users to register but not the existing users. Once you have placed the order and confirmed it the administrator panel will in no time start your service.

Back-End: SQL SERVER: SQL Server is an SQL-compliant RDBMS. SQL-compliant means it use the ANSI version of Structured Query Language or SQL. Structured Query Language is a command that allow us to modify or retrieve information from the database.

Client server means that SQL Server is designed to store data in the central location (the server) and deliver it on demand to numerous other locations (the client). SQL Server is also a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).

Reports: Entering of particulars regarding visitor, viz.: name, add., contact No. , gender, etc. Time of check-In & check-Out. Data base can also be provided with the photograph of visitor. Purpose of visit & to whom the visitor is visiting can also contribute to visitors information. An electronic pass with a pass code will be provided to the visitor when enters in campus.
