The Best Screensaver for Nokia 3230

Well, it works on a few other Nokia handphones including 6600, 6620,

6630, 6682, 7610, N70 (so far) too.

A simple way to hide a jpg file (or a folder full) is by using FileMan or FExplorer to set
its Attribute to hidden. The Gallery program can no longer display the file. 3rd party
programs may still be able to.

I’ve always wished the 3230’s date and time screensaver has a larger
sized font. I don’t know why Nokia restrict the font size so small to the
extend you need to turn-on the back-lighting to read the date and
time. But of course the moment you turned-on the back lighting, the
date and time screensaver disappears! Argh. Silly isn’t it?

I’ve tried a number of “clock” screensavers. The Best Lock by

Smartphoneware is pretty nice but at SGP$17 a tad expensive.

If you forgot your MMC’s password and didn’t reformat your phone, retrieve it from
C:/System/mmcstore

The Tramontána Co’s Clocksaver simply works. Unlike Best Lock which
has other functions and is a background running program, the
Clocksaver is a screensaver you configurate in your choice theme,
presumbly doesn’t use up extra memories compared to a background
running app.

Nokia Picture Viewing Short-cuts: Press 5/0 to Zoom In/Out, 1/3 Rotate, * to toggle Full-
screen.

A friend asked me to send a file via Bluetooth to his Nokia 3230.

Since his Nokia is not in my known devices list. I had to get my Nokia
to search for his Nokia.

Moments after searching for it, my Nokia re-booted itself! Yes, the
buggar abruptly restarted!

I was surprised by this expected event, but I saw an evil grin on my

friend’s face…

How to Reformat a Nokia 3230

You can re-format the phone using either tricks:

The Three-Keys Boot Method:

• Turn off the phone

• Press and hold [*] [3] [Green Button] simultaneously while you,
• Turn on the Phone

The *#7370# Method (Deep Reset*):

• Turn on the phone

• Key in *#7370#
• Enter the Security Code when prompted (the default Security Code is 12345)

Caveat: Make sure the battery is at nearly full charge (or do it while
charging the phone.) A discharged battery while formatting the phone
will lead to unpredictable results.
After formatting, the phone will revert to default settings including a
freshly installed Symbian OS. You will lose all your data so back them
up first.
* You can key in *#7780# to perform a Normal Reset. The Normal
Reset will restore files from the ROM but keeps user data (your pics,
sms in the Inbox, 3rd party software etc) intact.
