CAREER EXPERIENCE
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN (AAUW) Washington, DC 20082011 National organization including 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) committed to advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Network encompasses 10,000 members/donors, 1,000 branches, and 500 college/university institution partners with 70 employees in DC. Awards $3.2+M annually in fellowships and grants. PROGRAM OFFICER, AMERICAN AND INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS Utilized strategic planning expertise combined with decisive leadership to build American and International Fellowship and Grant flagship programs awarding $2M+. Worked with Publications, Marketing, Finance, IT, and Development. Led successful transition of the fellowship application review and selection process from an in-person forum to an accessible online process while retaining 95% of scholar panelists for continued support. Led multiple program design and facilitation teams for domestic/international advocacy capacity building programs for social justice (15 to 75+ participants per program). Interim Lead, Leadership for a Changing World (LCW) Program. Managed donor relations with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Ford Foundation, Independent Sector, and more. Reporting directly to the President, managed domestic partnerships with the National Council for Nonprofit Associations and Maryland Association of Nonprofits and international partnerships with Ukraine Citizen Action Network.

Secured $500K+ in grants for domestic/international advocacy, policy, and leadership training programs. Captured/maintained new short-/long-term advocacy training contracts ($2.5K to $300K). Led advocacy training/capacity building in the Ukraine to ISC activist groups working in education, human services, philanthropy, HIV/AIDS. Championed dynamic advocacy and drove change from a formerly rigid hierarchy to empower/unite activists for a greater impact with their government and media. COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR PALM BEACH AND MARTIN COUNTIES West Palm Beach, FL 19952000 Seeks to enhance the quality of life for all residents by promoting effective delivery of programs and services to donors and grantees. Serves 2 large and diverse counties in south Florida. SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER Carried out the primary mission of the Community Foundation in directing activities of the Ford Foundation-funded diversity initiative involving 20 community foundations and overseeing the grant-making and convening aspects of the Human and Race Relations Program. Directed the Dwight Allison Fellows Community Awards Program. Provided strategic planning, leadership, and vision to found 501(c)(3) non-profit, "Toward a More Perfect Union," to facilitate better understanding among segregated neighborhood communities through race relations dialogues. Rallied government, business, and media support to fund communitywide initiative. Elevated the Community Awards Program by cultivating relationships with NBC affiliates and Palm Beach County. PLANNED PARENTHOOD OF THE PALM BEACH AREA West Palm Beach, FL 19931995 Planned Parenthood affiliate (named Planned Parenthood of Greater Miami, Palm Beach, and Treasure Coast) that works to ensure broad public access to quality reproductive healthcare through direct service, education, and advocacy. DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING Directed community outreach strategy to increase visibility and effectiveness of affiliate Education and Training programs. Directed re-certification process. Supervised diverse staff of 5 personnel. Achieved 99% re-certification rating based on national standards on education, training, and marketing. Increased community outreach programming 50%. Enhanced affiliate visibility and access within the school community through strategic partnership building. Established a nonprofit night within the music and arts festival that attracted thousands of attendees. Galvanized support and led effort that saved a Planned Parenthood clinic in a lower income neighborhood.
