Si Shui Gate, Allied Forces; Defeat Lu Bu within 5 minutes of appearance Battle of Chi Bi, Allied Forces. Successfully make all 3 parts of the fire attack succeed. Invasion of Nan Zhong, Wu Forces. Rescue Sun Quan after the ambush event and defeat all officers except for Meng Huo. Hei Fei, Wei forces: Freely kill many generals and sub-generals till 3 messages apprear with Wu soldiers admiring Zhang Liao Battle of Cheng Du, Shu Forces. Completely take over the South Fort. Battle of He Fei Castle, Wei Forces. Kill at least 300 troops and go by Cao Pi to get a scene of her killing enemy troops. Battle of Yi Ling, Wu Forces. Defeat Zhao Yun before the fire attack and successfully complete the fire attack.

How to Unlock The Battle of the Wu Territory, Sun Ce's Forces. Kill Yan Baihu and Wang Zhou Yu Lang The Invasion of Nan Zhong, Nanman Forces. Defeat Jiang Qin and Gan Ning Zhu Rong without having the bridge destoryed Battle of Tian Shui, Shu Forces. Defeat Xiahou Mao and Cui Liang and Zhuge Liang capture the castles. Then, defeat Jiang Wei before he gets to Tian Shui Castle. Zuo Ci Hu Lao Gate, Allied forces: Kill Lu Bu on hard mode. Kingdom of Shu

Guan Ping - Chi Bi Retreat Battle - Defeat all the generals, then when the 2 reinforcements appear kill the general at the escape point. Guan Yu - Battle of Fan Castle - Kill the gate and stronghold captain in under 5 minutes. Then kill Niu Jin and Le Jin and enter the castle to start the flood event. Huang Zhong - Battle of Mt. Ding Jun - Kill Xiahou Yuan and Zhang He before Cao Cao arrives. Jiang Wei - Battle of Wu Zhang Plains - Complete all events before the death of Kongming. Protect the wooden ox and then kill Zhang He and Xiahou Dun. Liu Bei - Battle of Ru Nan - Meet up with Guan Yu and Zhao Yun then kill all officers except Cao Cao. Ma Chao - Battle of Tong Gate - Cross the river at the start of the map and knock Cao Cao off his horse before he crosses to the opposite side from where he starts. Pang Tong - Battle Of Nan Zhong - Kill the gate troops to get the bridge event. Seal the gate near Kongming and then wait for the Yue Ying Tank event. Ignore Meng Huo until he retreats. Protect the bridge captain and kill Wu Tugu to get an item report. Wei Yan - Battle of Cheng Du - Complete all objectives and don't trigger the ambush. Keep all your allied generals alive. Xing Cai - Battle Of Bai Dai - Let Xing Cai's health fall into the orange section so Liu Chan gives you a message about courage. Meet up with Liu Chan to trigger a cutscene and a morale increase. Then rescue your allies and head back to Ba Dai. Yue Ying - Battle of Wu Zhang Plains - Defend the wooden ox for their entire journey. Zhang Fei - Battle Of Chang Ban - Kill Xiahou Dun and his officers. Meet up with Zhao Yun and return to camp. Kill Xiahou En to get an item report. Zhao Yun - Battle of Cheng Du - Move to the west gate and kill Liu Xun and the gate captain there. Then take the North gate in the base. Zhuge Liang - Battle Of Tian Shui - Occupy An Ding and Nanan. Then release Xiahou Lin and a defection will be reported. Go near Tian Shui and Jiang Wei will try and return to the castle. Stop him by killing him and you'll get an item report. Kingdom of Wei

Cao Cao - Battle of Xia Pi - Go to the water gate and kill Zhang Liao and then Gao Shun. The water event will happen and you'll be notified about an item which is the 4th weapon. Cao Pi - Battle of Wu Zhang Plains - Secure the Supply lines and destroy all the Automatic Crossbows. Cao Ren - Chi Bi Escape Battle - Kill Guan Yu, Liu Bei and their officers. When Sun Quan arrives kill him as well. This must be done while keeping all of your officers alive. Dian Wei - Battle of Wan Castle - Meet with Cao Cao and then defeat Hu Che Er and Jia Xu. Then kill 10 troop leaders without letting any of them get past you. Pang De - Battle of Mt. Ding Jun - Kill all officers except Liu Bei and Huang Zhong before he charges. After Huang Zhong has charged then kill him. Sima Yi - Battle of Chen Cang - Control 3 of the weapons storage locations without losing control of the castle. Xiahou Dun - Battle of Fan Castle - Kill Guan Ping to prevent the water attack. Xiahou Yuan - Battle Of Mt. Jing Dun - When Huang Zhong charges, kill him and his officer. Xu Huang - Battle of Fan Castle - Kill all officers in under 11 minutes. Xu Zhu - Battle Of Tong Gate - Make Han Sui defect and then escort Cao Cao back to base. Zhang He - Battle of Jie Ting - Surround Ma Su and then kill him when he says that he is retreating to the main camp. Zhang Liao - Battle of Hei Fei - Kill 6 officers to get an event. Then keep killing generals until a second event happens. Then there'll be an item report. Zhen Ji - Battle of He Fei - Kill Taishi Ci and destroy the siege ram. Go back to base to trigger an event. Wait for Cao Pi to appear then there'll be another event and you'll get an item report. Kingdom of Wu

Da Qiao - Battle of Xia Kou - Clear out the boat before it leaves the docks and kill Gan Ning. You'll then get an item report, the 4th weapon. Gan Ning - Battle of Xia Kou - Kill Ling Chao. Then you'll get an event where Ling Tong attacks Gan Ning. Kill Ling Tong and Ling Cao. Huang Gai - Battle of Chi Bi - Set the ships on fire and then help Zhuge Liang to get the wind event, do not help Pang Tong though. Ling Tong - Battle Of He Fei - Defeat Zhang Liao 4 times.

Lu Meng - Battle Of Yi Ling - Kill all gate captains in under 6 minutes. Lu Xun - Battle of Bai Di - Go into the maze and successfully come out the other side. Once you've done that you must defeat Jiang Wei. Then Ma Chao will attack your base, defeat him to get an item report. Sun Ce - Sun Ce Illusionary Battle - Kill fake Sun Ce(s) and Da Qiao then all of Gan Ji clones. Sun Jian - Battle of Shi Shui Gate - Defeat Lu Bu in under 5 minutes. Sun Shang Xiang - Battle Of Nan Zhong - Return to base when reinforcements arrive and kill all of the backup troops. Sun Quan - Battle of Chi Bi - Kill Wang Lang then clear the bridge. Kill Cao Mao, clear the bridge again. Succeed in the sabotage and make sure Pang Tong succeeds as well. Help Huang Gai start the fire and help Zhuge Liang succeed in the wind prayer. Once they both succeed, you'll get an item report. Taishi Ci - Battle of Wu Jun - Lure Sun Quan into the fort and defeat him before Zhou Tai arrives, then kill Zhou Tai. Xiao Qiao - Battle of Jing Zhou - Prevent Sun Jian from being ambushed. Kill Huang Zu and then kill Zhang Hu, Jing Liang, Cao Mao and Lu Gong. Seal all strongholds and keep all allies alive, this will prevent reinforcements from arriving and you'll get an item report. Zhou Tai - Battle Of Yi Ling - The fire event must happen while keeping all your generals alive. There'll be an item report. Zhou Yu - Battle of Wu Territory - Kill Yan Baihu and Wang Lang. Other Officers Diao Chan - Battle Of Chang Shang - Help Lu Bu when he is ambushed and repel the attack. Dong Zhou - Battle of Hu Lao Gate - Seal the gates by the castle and then kill every sub general. Lu Bu - Battle of Chang Shang, Yuan Shao side - Get the event where Yuan Shao doesn't trust Lu Bu, then there'll be an ambush and Yuan Shao will choose not to rescuse you. There'll be a Diao Chan event, then kill Zhang Yan and wait until Yuan Shao trusts you. Then get 1000 kills. (KOs) Meng Huo - Battle of Nan Zhong - Defeat all enemy officers without losing any of your own. Yuan Shao - Battle Of Yi Zhou - Defeat all officers in under 11 minutes. Zhang Jiao - Battle of Jing Zhou - Kill everyone in under 10 minutes. Zhu Rong - Nanman Campaign - Have the Wu Tugu event occur and stop him from being killed. Then kill Wang Ping and Guan Xing. Zuo Ci - Beat Lu Bu at Hu Lao Gate.

Unlockable: Guan Yu At the battle of Fan Castle, Shu Forces, you must beat Niu Jin and Yue Jin before the water attack is triggered. Unlockable: Huang Gai At the Yellow Turban Rebellion, Han Forces, you must kill all subgenerals and officers outside of Zhang Jiao's fort. Unlockable: Huang Zhong At the battle of Mt. Ding Jun, Shu Forces, you must beat Xiahou Yuan and Zhang He within 5 minutes before Cao Cao appears. Unlockable: Zhuge Liange Select the battle of Tian Shui (playing on the Shu side). Once the battle begins, capture Nan An and An Ding Castle. To do this, simply eliminate Xiahou Mao and Cui Liang. Now, to acquire the Zhuge Liange, chase after Jiange Wei as he retreates from Tian Shui Castle. Defeat him when you catch up with him, and an item box will appear holding the weapon you seek - Zhuge Liange. ====================================================== 1-Introduction ====================================================== This is the first FAQ Ive written for Dynasty Warriors 5, however I am no stranger to the Dynasty Warriors series. I have played DW3, DW3Xtreme, DW4, DW4Xtreme, and now DW5. In my opinion, DW5 has made some very significant advances from the previous games and has become the best in the series. I got the game the first day I could, and everything in the below text is from my experience in the U.S. version of the game. This FAQ contains my experience playing Dynasty Warriors 5 as Zhou Tai. Among things Ill cover in this FAQ are his move set, weapon info (including lvl 4 weapon information), musou mode stages, and models. ====================================================== 2-Why Should I use Zhou Tai? ======================================================

Zhou Tai is a strong, quick on the ground, fairly quick attacking, good all-around character. He is great on the ground and on a horse. For a sword-user he has good crowd control. With his final weapon he is one of the three best people in the game on a horse (the others being Ma Chao and Pang De). Also, his musou is one of, if not the best officer killing musou in the game in my opinion. Finally, Zhou Tai is one of, if not the coolest looking/sounding characters in the game. ====================================================== 3-Unlocking ====================================================== Zhou Tai is unlocked by completing any 1 Wu musou mode. ====================================================== 4-Move Set ====================================================== Keys: S = Square button, T = Triangle button, C = Circle button S- An upward slash to the right. SS- A sideways slash to the left. SSS- An upward slash to the right. SSSS- A hop with a downward slash to the right. SSSSS- A downward slash to the left. SSSSSS- A quick lunging slash attack. *Alternate SSSSSS- A sideways slash to the right. *SSSSSSS- A sideways slash to the left. *SSSSSSSS An upward slash to the right. *SSSSSSSSS- A quick lunging slash attack. T- Zhou Tai does a quick two hit lunging slash attack from left to right then right to left. This move stuns. ST- Zhou Tai uses the butt of his sheath to send the enemies into the air. SST(T)- Zhuo Tai quickly slashes his enemies up to 10? times and finshes with one final slash. SSST- Zhou Tai does a hard slash while taking a little step forward. SSSST- Zhou Tai stomps on the ground sending the enemies nearby into the air. SSSSST(T)- Zhou Tai does a hard, stepping jab/stab attack. *Note* If triangle is pressed twice, Zhou Tai charges longer and appears to do more damage as well as going through blocks. --Thanks to Raliem for bringing this to my attention-Jump attack- A downward slash from left to right. Jump Charge- Zhou Tai does an air jump, followed by a downward slashing combo move. Running attack- Zhuo Tai does an upward slash from left to right. Mounted attack- Similar to Ma Chao and Pang De's mounted attacks, Zhou Tai does 6 downward slashes all to the right of the horse. Mounted charge- Zhou Tai does a quick slash over the head of the horse, attacking those directly in front of him. Mounted Musou- Zhou Tai does repeated downward slashes to the right and finshes with his charge attack.

Musou attack- Zhou Tai stands in one place and quickly, repeatedly attacks enemies in front of him, finishing with a quick slash. True Musou attack- Pretty much the same as his Musou attack, except he finishs by sheathing his sword (creating a shockwave around him) followed by a slash to the right. *Note: The alternate S6-S9 are only available if you have a weapon that is at least level 3 with a light blue dot by the weapon title, as well as a full musou gauge. All 4th level weapons are Evo-capable. ====================================================== 5-Weapons ====================================================== Stats-Eastern Sword Base Attack 4 Number of attacks 4 Weight Random Stats-Katana Base Attack 8 Number of attacks 5 Weight Random Stats-Dawn Base Attack 12 Number of attacks 6 Weight Random Stats-Dusk Base Attack 36 Number of attacks 6 Weight Average Musou Charge Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 18 Requirements for Obtaining Zhou Tai's 4th Stage- Battle of Yi Ling (Hard Difficulty) Requirement- 1) Defeat Zhao Yun before the fire attack 2) Successfully complete the fire attack Strategy- First of all a horse is recommended if not necessary as Zhou Tai starts on the opposite side of the stage from Zhao Yun. I also recommend you try to quickly dispatch Ma Chao on your way across the stage. He and his subgenerals destroy Sun Shang Xiang if you leave them alone. Other than that, ignore everyone else and take out Zhao Yun. At this point, it is a good idea to kill Shamoke. He can cause Ling Tong and Gan Ning real truble otherwise. Now you should see that Zhu Ran is charging into the Shu camp. He starts the fire attack, so all you have to do is keep him alive untill the fire attack succeeds. At this point, Liu Bei will retreat to the bottom corner through the Stone Sentinel Maze. You should get the "precious item report" at this point. The weapon is in the Stone Sentinel Maze directly south from the entrance.

The trickiest part of this is not getting carried away killing people, thereby losing track of time and not killing Zhao Yun fast enough. Overall, not that hard. If your Zhou Tai is resonably strong you can get his weapon without too much difficulty. ====================================================== 6-Musou Mode ====================================================== Zhou Tai has 5 stages in his musou mode, The 5 stages are 1) Battle of the Wu Territory Sun Ce's Forces vs. Allied Forces Strategy- Basically take out all the forts and the generals inside them, finishing the battle by beating Taishi Ci since Liu Yong flees. 2) Battle of Chi Bi Allied Forces vs. Cao Cao's Forces Strategy- Make sure the bridge gets destroyed by Pang Tong, Make sure Zhuge Liang's prayer is successful, and make sure Huang Gai's fire attack succeeds and everything else is easy. 3) The Invasion of Nan Zhong Wu Forces vs. Nanman Forces Strategy- Taking over the neutral attack base to the north might be useful to do at the start of the mission, as later on it provides some defense/ offense against an ambushing Mang Yachang. After that, basically advance southward towards the Nanman camp in the southeast of the map killing officers on the way. When you finally get there Meng Huo charges up the right side of the map and starts attacking Sun Quan. Simply track Meng Huo down from behind and kill him. 4) Battle of Yi LIng Wu Forces vs. Shu Forces Strategy- Head southwards and take out Guan Xing and Ma Chao as they and their subgenerals advance up the right (eastern) side of the map. Then head westward, killing all the generals in front of Liu Bei's fort. You can then advance westward and take out Zhao Yun and Shamoke or you can just advance into the fort and kill Liu Bei. Also having the fire attack succeed here makes things much easier. 5) Battle of Bai Di Castle Wu Forces vs. Shu Forces Strategy- Technically, Zhou Tai should charge along the south edge of the map in order to clear the far southeastern gate... as the story goes. However, it may be of your benefit to first take out Huang Zhong as he and his subgenerals can wreak havok on Sun Quan, especially when Ma Chao mysteriously shows up in your camp area. After defeating at least Huang Zhong take whatever path to the castle you prefer. Beware of the arbelists though as they are everywhere in and around the castle and they will mess your life up if you aren't carefull. ====================================================== 7-Zhou Tai's models ====================================================== Model 1- This model comes with Zhou Tai. He has on dark red/black armor, with a black headband. Has a red/black sash running from his left

shoulder down to his right knee. cool.

Mostly black and red costume looks pretty

Model 2- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get's about 6000 points. This model is just his first model with different colors. The dark red armor turn to a lighter red... Don't worry it isn't pink. Still a good outfit, but not much different from his starting costume. Model 3- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get about 20000 points. This is his first DW4 model. Basically it is a black and red armor with a red cape, and red feathery shoulders. Model 4- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get around 20000 points along with his model 3. This is Zhou Tai's fourth DW4 model. It is similar to his model 3 except that it has silver instead of red, and has an incredibly cool pointed silver mask. ====================================================== 8-Zhou Tai's Encyclopedia Information ====================================================== Born 170 A.D. Died 225 A.D. A Wu officer, Zhou Tai joined Sun Ce with his former comrade, Jiang Qin. Despite a serious injury, he succeeded in rescuing Sun Quan when he was attacked by bandits. At the Battle of Yi Ling, he killed the barbarian general, Sha Moke. ====================================================== 9-Q&A ====================================================== Since this is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) this section will continue to grow as people send emails containing questions about Zhou Tai. Q: Why can't I get his final weapon? A: Make sure you are playing at Yi ling from the Wu side on hard difficulty. Then check to make sure you are killing Zhao Yun before the fire attack, and stalking Zhu Ran until he completes the fire attack. Q: How many items does Zhou Tai get to carry in this game? A: Zhou Tai like everyone else in the game can carry up to 5 items. Q: What are the best items to use with Zhou Tai? A: Right now I am using a shadow harness, ice orb, tiger amulet , tortoise amulet, horned helm, dragon amulet, and wind scroll. I use thes so that I can use him as an effective mounted fighter. Q: What are the best places to max him out for his 4th weapon? A: Any place with four or five stars is good to level your characters. Also, Normal difficulty seems to give the the same officer drops as Hard difficulty on 4 and 5 star levels, you can therefore easily get +8 attack and defense from Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, and other 5 star stages on Normal difficulty. Q: What happened to Zhou Tai's throw from DW4? That thing was awesome!! A: KOEI got rid of all the throw attacks for DW5. ======================================================

SSST- Ling Tong does a flip forward and smashes his heel into the ground, causeing a small shockwave that damages enemies near by. SSSST- Ling Tong throws a gust of wind from his weapon forward that knocks any enemy in front of him into the air. SSSSST- Ling Tong jumps in a circle causeing a wave of fire to surround him, damaging all enemies near by. This move has a natural fire effect to it that will cause the enemies to burn and loose health until they hit the floor. Jump attack- a straight downward swing Jump charge- Ling Tong does a spin kick in mid air that shoots a wind blade from his foot hitting any enemies below him. Mounted attack- Ling Tong does a series of 6 downward swing going right to left. Mounted charge- Ling Tong does two hard downward swings going right to left. Mounted Musou- Ling Tong does repeated downward swings going left to right. Musou attack- Ling Tong keeps spining his weapon and moving forward while swiching it between his hands, finally Ling Tong jumps in a circle swinging his weapon around him hitting all enemies nearby. True Musou attack- This move is much the same as his musou attack, but instead of jumping in a circle, Ling Tong does a few more swings in front of him. It should be noted that from Alternate S6-S9 you need to have a weapon at least level 3 that's Evo-capable (aka the little blue dot near the weapons name) As well as a full musou bar to use. All 4th level weapons are Evo-capable. Number of attacks 6 Weight Average Charge Attack Lvl 16 Speed Lvl 19 Life Lvl 15 Luck Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Requirements for Obtaining Ling Tong's 4th Stage- Battle of He Fei Requirement- Defeat Zhang Liao 4 times Strategy- This weapon is pretty simple and straight forward to get. The only problem you should have to watch out for is your bodyguardor allys getting the kill. Make sure Ling Tong is built up well, because Zhang Liao is in super mode and can kill you pretty fast if your not carful. You should start close to the center of the map, the first thing you want to do is kill of Pang De, so head straight for him and kill him. When you get close to him a reinforcement unit should appear a little behind him and will come for you. Kill him off as well. Then take the two forts nearby. It takes about 5 minutes for Zhang Liao to appear for the first time, so if you have the time you can try to kill any other general that may be near by. Zhang Liao will appear just below Sun Quan's unit and will charge right at him. As soon as he does this head for him (He can kill Sun Quan pretty quick) and kill him. Now you should have another 5 or 6 minutes before he appears again, use this time to head to the bottom left part of the map and clear out all enemy generals down there. Zhang Liao should have appeared at the top right part of the map by the time your done, but don't worry, it takes him alot longer to make it to Sun Quan, you'll have plenty of time to get to him. Charge up for him and kill him as quickly as possible. Like Before you should have another 5-6 minutes before he shows up again. Use this time to kill of any other general in the area, as well as taking all the forts. Zhang Liao will appear in the bottom left part of the map, (the area you cleared earlier) so go and kill him again. After another 5-6 minutes he'll appear agian right outside Cao Cao's castle, go and kill him for the last time. You should get a Precious Item report on top of the castle walls. Go get the weapon and Kill Cao Cao. It's really nice to have a saddle for all this, but it's not a must. Also make sure you're playing on hard mode, and I'd suggest not bringing a bodyguard or at least turning him/her on defend so it wont kill Zhang Liao (like it did me >_<) -------------------------------------------------8-Musou Mode -------------------------------------------------Ling Tong has 5 stages in his musou mode, The 5 stages are 1-Battle 2-Battle 3-Battle 4-Battle of of of of Wu Jun Xia Kou Chi Bi He Fei

5-Battle of Yi Ling As soon as I get the US release of this game and can better read what's going on in the battles, I'll update with some stage strategies. -------------------------------------------------9-Ling Tong's models -------------------------------------------------Model 1- This model comes with Ling Tong. This model is very Red, red vest, red shirt, red pants. He does have some gold detail around him, as well as a black waist wrap, and black shoes. His hiar is pinned up much like Sun Ce's Model 2- Ling Tong unlocks this model when he get's about 6000 points. This suit is pretty much his first suit with different colors. In this model all of the red get's a little darker, and the gold detail becomes silver. The black waist wrap is now purple. His shoes stay black, but with a little gold detail added. Model 3- Ling Tong unlocks this model when he get about 20000 points. The suit it's self stays pretty much the same, only all the red becomes white with the silver detail. His shoes and waist wrap stay the same as model 2. Ling Tong un pins his hair in this model. Model 4- Ling Tong unlocks this model when he gains about 20000 points along with his model 3. This suit is just a color change to his model 3. All the white becomes purple with the silver detail. His vest is a slight darker purple then his shirt and pants. His waist wrap becomes black again, and his shoes get a silver detail instead of the gold. -------------------------------------------------10-Q&A -------------------------------------------------Q: The requirement for obtaining Ling Tong's 4th lvl weapon isn't working? A: Make sure your playing on hard mode, and make sure YOU score the kill on Zhang Liao all 4 times. Q: Do you have to have played Ling Tong's Musou mode and got his 2nd and 3rd weapon before you get his 4th? A: No, I have got many 4th weapons the first time I played the character. Q:How do you unlock Ling Tong in DW4? A: You cant, Ling Tong is one of the 6 new characters in DW5 Q: Ling Tong looks stupid and boring and is undissevering of a spot in DW5, KOEI should have added Cheng Pu instead. A: Well, if you think you can do better, get a job with KOEI and design the new characters yourself. As for Cheng Pu, KOEI cleary wanted to use Ling Tong instead, get over it. Q: What's the best stage to get high level items? A: I've been able to get 15-20 level items on any 4-5 star stage on hard mode or Shura/Expert Mode. The higer the diffuculty the better chance for a high level item. Also using a good Seven star sash (luck+) and a character with a high luck+ on his weapon ups the chances for a good item. ------------------------- Introduction ------------------------I've long been a fan of Dynasty Warriors ever since 3 came out. Upon playing this game, I first played as Cao Pi. I did this because I admired his personality and appearance as well as his historical background. After using him, he has become a favorite character of mine and I have thus decided to write a FAQ to describe any aspects dealing with him. Cao Pi is an available character at the beginning of the game so there is no need to worry about unlocking him. ------------------- Cao Pi ------------------Surname: Cao Given Name: Pi Style: Zihuan Born: 187 Died: 226 Cao Pi was the second son of Cao Cao. He was very shrewd and skilled in the arts and in warfare and fought alongside his father from an early age. Cao Pi loved literature and poetry like his father, and wrote over a hundred articles on various subjects. During the fight against Yuan Shao, Cao Pi met two women after conquering Ye. He had planned on killing them, but he instead put away his weapon. One of the women was Lady Liu, the wife of the late Yuan Shao and the other was Lady Zhen, the wife of Yuan Xi, Yuan Shao's second son. Cao Pi saw great beauty within Lady Zhen and when she was brought before Cao Cao. Cao Cao said she was the perfect one to be Cao Pi's wife and so Zhen Ji was taken as Cao Pi's wife. After the defeat of Yuan Shao, Cao Pi spent most of his career in guarding the city of Xu Chang with half a million soldiers. Cao Cao was considering

both Cao Pi and Cao Zhi to be appointed as his heir, but Jia Xu, who happened to be a friend of Cao Pi's, convinced Cao Cao that Cao Pi was the most reasonable choice. Cao Pi succeeded his father, Cao Cao, when he died. There were a few minor conflicts between his brothers once Cao Pi ascended power. Once Cao Cao died, Cao Pi's younger brother, Cao Zhang made an attempt to secure the Imperial Court before his brother could, but he was too late and sent his soldiers back and went to pay homage to his brother instead. Cao Pi's younger brother, Cao Xiong, was often ill and he could not attend his father's funeral because he was ill. Cao Pi summoned him to the court, and out of fear of his brother, Cao Xiong committed suicide. Cao Pi also always held suspicion against Cao Zhi though he never intended to contend for the throne. After some complaints about Cao Zhi, Cao Pi wanted to punish him, but his mother insisted that he not harm his brother. Cao Pi then decided to test Cao Zhi's poetic abilities. Cao Zhi was to comprise a poem within a set number of paces. And after pulling this off, Cao Pi assigned Cao Zhi as the Lord of Anxing and he was not allowed to participate in political affairs. And after his loss against Guan Yu, Cao Pi put Yu Jin to shame, causing him to become ill and die. Cao Pi's most notable achievement is becoming the first Emperor of Wei. In the year 220, Wei became an established power and controlled the Han court. So Cao Pi deposed Emperor Xian and ascended the throne as the Emperor of Wei, which ended the 400-year rule of the Han Dynasty. Cao Pi also had his wife, Zhen Ji, commit suicide. She began to act strangely and after some slander from his concubine, Lady Guo, he became irritated and ordered her to commit suicide. He then named Lady Guo as the new empress and she was to take care of her step-son, Cao Rui, the son of Lady Zhen. Lady Guo did not favor Cao Rui, but Cao Pi insisted that he would be named heir. In the year 224, Cao Pi led a massive fleet, numbering more than three hundred thousand, to attack the kingdom of Wu. Cao Pi led the fleet to cross the Great River at night, but they were scared off by a fake wall made by Xu Sheng of Wu. Cao Pi ordered the fleet to turn around, but the winds were so strong that his boat was brought down. He was rescued by his officers, but not long after, they were ambushed by Sun Shao and his force. Though Sun Shao's force was small, Cao Pi could not withstand the attack and many of his soldiers were slain. He was rescued by Zhang Liao and Xu Huang, but as they retreated up the river, they were ambushed by Ding Feng. Cao Pi managed to escape, but Zhang Liao was hit in his loins with an arrow and died of his wounds soon after. Cao Pi's campaign against Wu was a failure and he died two years later at the age of thirty-nine. During his reign, Cao Pi continued his father's wars against Shu and Wu, but was unsuccessful. Key: S = Square T = Triangle O = Circle X = X S- A downaward, diagonal slash. SS- A horizontal slash to the right. SSS- A horizontal slash to the left going slightly upward. SSSS- A horizontal slash to the right. SSSSS- A horizontal slash to the left with a little spin move. SSSSSS- A powerful, downward, diagonal slash. T- Forms a ball of ice that explodes and either knocks nearby enemies back or freezes them. ST- A powerful, upward, diagonal slash. SST- First, a downward, diagonal slash, but if continually pressed it goes into a series of 6 alternate slashes using each blade, followed by a powerful last strike. SSST- A powerful, horizontal slash. SSSST- Cao Pi slams both blades into the ground sending a wave of energy up all around him which knocks all nearby enemies into the air. SSSSST- A powerful, downward, diagonal slash. Running Attack (S while running)- Cao Pi spins around and performs a slashing attack. Jump Attack (X,S)- Cao Pi spins around and slashes downward. Jump Charge Attack (X,S,T)- Cao Pi spins around and gives 3 alternate strikes. Horse Attack (S while mounted)- A series of downward strikes. Horse Charge Attack (S,T while mounted)- Cao Pi uses both blades for a powerful slash on each side. Horse Musou Attack (O while mounted and with full Musou Gauge)- Cao Pi uses a series of quicker, more powerful, downward strikes. Musou Attack (O with full Musou Gauge)- Cao Pi slashes with each individual blade followed by a spin attack with both blades together. True Musou Attack (O with full Musou Gauge and Life Meter in red)- Cao Pi alternately uses upward and downward strikes, ending with 2 quick strikes and a spin with a pulse wave. If you pick up an evolution weapon, indicated by a blue circle by the weapon name, you will be able to perform 9 attacks instead of 6. However, you need a full Musou Gauge in order to perform them. The first 5 attacks are the same as mentioned above, but the 6th changes. Here are the evolution attacks. SSSSSS- A downward, diagonal slash. SSSSSSS- A horizontal slash to the right. SSSSSSSS- A horizontal slash to the left going slightly upward. SSSSSSSSS- A powerful, horizontal slash to the right. Cao Pi also receives an extra charge attack after his 9th strike with his evolution weapon. Obviously, you'll need a full Musou Gauge to perform this as well. SSSSSSSSST- Cao Pi releases a red energy orb which will explode with a puff of red smoke, heavily damaging nearby enemies. This orb takes on the properties of the Shadow Orb, therefore it will attempt to instantly kill nearby enemies,

Completing Cao Pi's Musou Mode unlocks Cao Ren. I will give a basic stage layout for each level as well as my recommendation as to how to complete each level. When the stage starts a scene will play with Cao Cao riding out his camp and Cao Pi will ask him if that is safe, but he'll ride out anyways with Guan Yu.

Once you begin, head straight and capture the gate. Then go north and capture the enemy base and defeat Lu Kuang. Then take the other base, a little north from there. Guan Yu should kill Yan Liang around this point. Head towards Zhen Ji and when you encounter her, you will get a scene with Cao Pi trying to convince Zhen Ji to join him. Then defeat Zhen Ji. Guan Yu should hear of Liu Bei's whereabouts around now and both he and Liu Bei will pull back. Now take the nearby gate and defeat Yuan Xi. Take the path towards the east and defeat Lu Wei Kuang. Capture the base to the north and defeat Wen Chou. Yuan Shao will order the Wu Chao supply depot to open. Go inside and pick up the Musou Wine from one of the barrels behind Chunyu Qiong. Then defeat Chunyu Qiong. Afterwards, a scene will play with Yuan Shao and Wu Chao will be up in flames. Exit and take the nearby gate and base and defeat Xun Chen. Zhang He should defect to your side around this point. Yuan Shao's forces' morale will plummet and his officers will begin to drop like flies. Defeat any you are able to and take any bases and gates that are left over. Don't forgot about Jian Yong and Liu Bei in the northeast corner. Your forces won't advance toward them. Go up and defeat them. Afterwards, Guan Yu will withdraw. The bridges connecting Wu's ships and your ships will collapse. Go and defeat Han Dang. Now circle back up and defeat Zhu Huan and

Quan Zong. Then go south and capture the gate and defeat Cheng Pu. Zhou Yu will now send Huang Gai to initiate the fire attack. Chase after him and defeat Huang Gai before he reaches his destination. Now that the fire attack has failed, Zhuge Liang will retreat. Now, defeat Zhu Ran and then Zhou Tai. Take the gate in the center and defeat Zhang Cheng. Defeat Pang Tong and take the gate near him. Now head down the western path and defeat Xu Sheng, Jiang Qin, Pan Zhang, and take the gate in the bottom corner. Then head onto the ships and take the gate in the south. Now go and defeat Ding Feng and Zhu Zhi. Zhuge Jin and Sun Quan will arrive as reinforcements for the Allied Forces. Defeat Lu Su and then head over to Zhuge Jin and defeat him and Dong Xi. Now get Zhou Yu out of the way and defeat him. Begin by defeating Liao Hua and Gao Xiang. Then take the gate in the center area and pick up the Musou Wine from one of the barrels next to it. Then go and defeat Zhang Bao, Guan Xing, and Wang Ping and take that gate. Now the mountain summit will be surrounded, so go and defeat Li Yan, Jian Yong, and Chen Shi, then take out Ma Su and take his base. The stage is not over yet. Now go and defeat Zhang Yi and Ma Dai. Then run back over to Jiang Wei and defeat him. If Shu's reinforcements have not yet arrived, take the remaining gates while you wait for them. Wei Yan, Xing Cai, Ma Chao, and Zhuge Liang will begin to show up. Defeat them as they come and that will complete the stage. ----------------------------- Battle of Wu Zhang Plains -----------------------------

Defeat Zhang Yi and take all the bases and gates in that western area. Capture the other attack base in the center. Defeat Li Yan and occupy the gate near him. Defeat Wei Yan, Ma Dai, and Wang Ping. Zhuge Liang should then die and Jiang Wei will take command of the Shu army. Travel down the eastern path and take all the gates and bases along that path. Also seal off the enemy supply line and defeat Gao Xiang. Jian Yong will arrive as you are doing all this and the enemy will unleash their Arbalests. Guan Suo will also then arrive. Defeat Yue Ying and take the gate down there. Then take the enemy base just northwest of that area. Liu Ye will arrive around this time. Head toward the Shu camp from the western path and take the base and gate over there. Defeat Jiang Wan and Yang Yi and take the gate inside the Shu camp and the one just outside. Defeat Cheng Pu and take the gate near him. Go back inside the castle and defeat Zhou Fang, Zhu Zhu, and Han Dang. Jiang Qin and Pan Zhang will arrive for Wu and Man Chong will arrive for Wei. Defeat Lu Xun and take the gate near him. Go back inside the castle and capture the other gate in there. Sun Shao will arrive around this point. Defeat Chen Wu and Jiang Qin. Defeat Zhu Huan, Quan Zong, and Taishi Ci. Defeat Dong Xi and Pan Zhang and occupy the gates on Wu's ships. Defeat Zhang Cheng and Sun Shao. Defeat Zhou Tai. --Attacks- 6 --Musou Charge Lvl 15 --Defense Lvl 15 --Musou Lvl 19 --Speed Lvl 19 --Attack Lvl 15 --------------Obtaining Chaos --------------You must play as Cao Pi at the "Battle of Wu Zhang Plains" stage in either Musou Mode or Free Mode on Hard difficulty. I reccomend you do this in Musou Mode. It makes it slightly easier since it is his fourth stage. First, you must defeat any 3 generals quickly. This does not include subgenerals. There should be 4 in the middle, they should be good targets. I recommend Wei Yan, Ma Dai, and Wang Ping. Around this point, Zhuge Liang will die. Now you should go and seal off the enemy supply route and then use your time to capture enemy bases and gates. Soon, Jiang Wei will launch the Arbalest units out at your army. Now, run up there and destroy all the Arbalest units. The Special Item Box will appear right in the middle of that central platform near you. Pick up the weapon box and finish the stage. Cao Ren also must not be defeated and you, as Cao Pi, must be the one to destroy every Arbalest. ------------------- Movies ------------------This section tells how to unlock the movies during Cao Pi's Musou Mode. The Movies can be accessed through the Options menu. I shall also give a description of what happens during these movies. -----Events -----Facing an Old Friend - Unlocks before the "Battle of Guan Du" stage. Guan Yu and Xiahou Dun are sparring and Cao Cao walks up and comments on Xiahou Dun's skills. Xiahou Dun then asks if they will be leaving soon and Cao Cao says yes and that they will leave to attack Yuan Shao and that this includes Guan Yu. Guan Yu then accepts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------Me, Myself, and I - Unlocks before the "Battle of He Fei Castle" stage. Wu's fleet is approaching He Fei Castle. Sima Yi says Wu is finished once this battle is over and that Cao Pi's father's dream shall be realized. Cao Pi then holds his weapon to Sima Yi's throat. He says his father's ambition means nothing to him and that this land is his and his alone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------A Shooting Star- Unlocks before the "Battle of Wu Zhang Plains" stage.

Cao Ren is fighting enemy soldiers and says that he can no longer put up with Shu's ramblings of virtue. Sima Yi says that it won't last long and Zhuge Liang, along with Shu, will fall in this battle. Cao Ren then tells the army that victory shall be their's. -----------Ending - Wei -----------Cao Pi - A Second Chance - Unlocks once you complete Cao Pi's Musou Mode. Cao Pi and Sima Yi are walking down a road. A man bows as they pass. Cao Pi says that sometime soon the land will be in chaos again or their kingdom shall simply be taken away and that this is the time to form a kingdom they can be proud of. Sima Yi doesn't understand what he means. Cao Pi then says that if anything should happen to him, Sima Yi can do as he pleases. ------------------- Models ------------------Like all characters, Cao Pi has alternate models. They are achieved as your character advances in rank and achieves a certain amount of points. Cao Pi has 4 different models like everyone else. Model 1 This is Cao Pi's default model. He wears a blue outfit with light, gray battle armor and a blue cape. He has long, brown hair tied into a ponytail. Unlocked- Already unlocke by default Model 2 This is the same thing as Cao Pi's first model, but there are some color variations. Instead of blue and gray, it's more white and silver. Unlocked- Once you achieve 6000 points Model 3 This is basically the same outfit as his first two models except it's a purple outfit with yellow armor and a red cape. And his hair is now tied up at the crown of his head and he also wears a crown. Unlocked- Once you achieve 20000 points Model 4 This is the same thing as Cao Pi's third model except the color is yellow. Site allowed to use this FAQ Gamefaqs.com Neoseekers.com ------------------------------------------------3-Lu Bu Character bio ------------------------------------------------A warrior without equal, his life was an eassy in betrayl. he was first convinced by Li Su to betray Ding Yuan, his adpoted father, to join Dong Zhuo. he killed Ding Yuan and joined Dong Zhuo, rececving Red Hare in the process. his strength of the battle field was proven when at Hu Lao Gate he stoped and killed officers from the allied forces. he was about to kill Gongsun Zan, but Zhang Fei came to his rescue, the two fought without either giving way, Guan Yu joined the fight, but still Lu Bu did not yield, finaily Liu Bei joined in, the was to much, even for Lu Bu. so he feld. he would later be convinced by Wang Yun to kill Dong Zhuo and take Diao Chan for himself, he did, but Dong Zhuo's former officers attacked him causing him to flee, after a breif war with Cao Cao, he settled into Xu, which was under the control of Liu Bei, durning Liu Bei's abence, he took Xia Pi, this caused both Liu Bei and Cao Cao to attack him. although strong Lu Bu was dumb and did not listen to his advisor, Chen Gong, so he was defeated at Xia Pi, losing everything he had to Cao Cao and Liu Bei, including his life. ------------------------------------------------4-Why Should I use Lu Bu? ------------------------------------------------Lu Bu is a pure monster in just about every way. Lu Bu is capable of reaching the attack and defence cap for characters. He's got good speed. He's one of the best(if not the best) crowd controllers in the game. His musou could use a little work, but his true musou is great. SSSSSSSSS- Lu Bu charges forward a bit while doing a hard slash to the right. T- Lu Bu does a upward slash to the left, then charges forward and does a slash to the right. He finshes by stomping his foot into the ground causing a shockwave to hit anything around him. This move has a natural fire effect to it that will cause the enemies to burn and loose health until they hit the floor. ST- Lu Bu uses the hlit of his weapon to knock enemies in front of him into the air. SST(T)- Lu Bu does a series of 5 slashes to the left, followed by a slash to the right, he finshes by stomping his footinto the ground causing a shockwave to hit anything around him. (Best C3 in the game) SSST- Lu Bu charges forward a bit while doing a hard slash to the right. (this move is the same as his SSSSSSSSS) SSSST- Lu Bu does a straight upward slash, hitting the ground with his weapon causing an explosion that knockes enemies into the air. SSSSST- Lu Bu a seires of 6 downward slashes going left to right, he finshes by smashing his weapon into the ground causing a shockwave to hit anything around him. Jump Attack- A downward slash Jump Charge- Lu Bu smashes his weapon into the ground causing a shockwave to hit anything around him, he finshes with a slash to the right. Mounted Attack- Lu Bu does a series of 6 downward slashes going right to left. Mounted Charge- Lu Bu does a series of 2 downward slashes going right to left. Mounted Musou-Lu Bu does a series of downward slashes going right to left. Musou Attack- Lu Bu startes spinning around doing a series of downward slashes to the right. It should be noted that from Alternate S6-S9 you need to have a weapon at least level 3 that's Evo-capable (aka the little blue dot near the weapons name) As well as a full musou bar to use. The best advice I can give you, is try not to kill any gate guards, generals or sub generals, or take any forts. You want as many troops on the field as possable. Really other then this, all I can say is, just keep killing, getting 1000 really isn't to hard. Once you get the 1000 the Precious Item report should appear in the enemy fort. Pick it up and finshes the stage. A saddle is not needed for this. Make sure your playing on hard mode Alternate Strategy added by Geist Schattenfaust A really easy way to get the 4th weapon is to fail the mission you're immediately given by disobeying orders. To do this, run to the main south gate and you will get the message, "Yuan Shao is suspicious of Lu Bu!" This will cause the entire army on your side to sit inside their camp on the south side until you've beaten Liu Bei, essentially allowing you to clear the mission on your own. I sat by the Checkpoint in the NW corner and killed up to 900 before moving on. Lu Bu wears silver armor with some purple outlining. He has a red and gold piece of cloth acrosses his chest, and a red piece of cloth hanging from his legs. He has a gold , dark grey pants and brown shoes. He also has the best head piece in the game, a little gold crown with two huge antennas coming from them. Model 2- Lu Bu unlocks this model when he get's about 6000 points. This model is just his first model with different colors. His sliver armors get's a little brighter, and the purple outlining becomes a much darker purple. The red and gold piece of cloth hanging from his chest in now a kind of tan/white color. The red piece of cloth hanging from his legs is now a muddy brown. His pants are now more of a light grey, with grey and black shoes. His waist wrap is now purple and white. Model 3- Lu Bu unlocks this model when he get about 20000 points. This just Lu Bu's DW4 model. He loses all the clothes hanging from him and get a much more armored look. In this model he's wearing gold armor with red and purple outlining. He also wears a tan waist wrap with some purple outlining. He wears black pants and black and gold shoes. He has the same head piece has his first two models. Model 4- Lu Bu unlocks this model when he gains about 20000 points along with his model 3. This is Lu Bu's alternate DW4 model. His gold armor is now a sliver color, with gold outlining. His waist wrap is now purple with some red outlining. He wears white pants, and sliver shoes, with a little detail. His head piece crown gets a little larger and turns sliver with some purple feathers coming out of it. -------------------------------------------------10-Q&A -------------------------------------------------Q: The requirement for obtaining Lu Bu's 4th lvl weapon isn't working? A: Make sure your playing on hard mode, other then that if you've got the 1000 kills you should have got the weapon. Check you history to make sure you didn't miss the Precious Item report. Q: Why does Lu Bu only have 4 stages in his musou mode? A: All other characters besides Zuo Ci, and Zhang Jiao (I think) has only 4 stages. A: I've been able to get 15-20 level items on any 4-5 star stage on hard mode or Shura/Expert Mode. The higer the diffuculty the better chance for a high level item. Also using a good Seven star sash (luck+) and a character with a high luck+ on his weapon ups the chances for a good item. Q: What will you except for your FAQ? When he was young, Sun Jian's family moved into the area. Sun Ce, Sun Jian's oldest son, became fast friends with Zhou Yu, and the two grew up together. When Zhou Yu became older, he was often referred to as "The Handsome Zhou Yu", due to his impeccable good looks. When Sun Ce went to battle against Liu Yao, Zhou Yu followed him, bringing troops of his own. Sun Ce was happy to see his childhood friend at his side, and the two of them went on to found the Wu territory. They also both married two sisters from the Qiao family, who were said to be the most beautiful girls in all the land. Sun Ce was assassinated at the age of 25, leaving his brother, Sun Quan, to lead Wu. Since Quan was so young, Zhou Yu had to help him with the administration of the country. The battle Zhou Yu is most famous for is the Battle of Chi Bi. Zhou Yu orchestrated the battle, and with the help of Huang Gai, the Wu-Shu coalition defeated Cao Cao's much larger fleet. Huang Gai saw a flaw in Cao Cao's fleet, allowing him to use a fire attack, Zhou Yu quickly attacked, pushing Cao Cao back to the north.

Zhou Yu became sick in 210 AD, and died at the age of 35. On his deathbed, he named Lu Su to be his successor, and told Sun Quan to listen to his advice. He died later that night, leaving behind his widow and two sons. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------3. Why Should I Use Zhou Yu? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------Zhou Yu is one of the best jugglers in DW5. He has a great move set, perfect for defeating enemy generals. Combos are definitely his strong point. He also has an excellent running attack that could make quick work of grunt soldiers. He has good crowd control, but not great, just enough to get the job done. IMO he is the best sword user in the game. Once you learn how to use him, generals will fall in just one combo. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------4. Unlocking Zhou Yu -----------------------------------------------------------------------------First, turn on your PS2. Then, make sure that your DW5 disc is in the tray. When the game starts, choose Musou Mode, or Free Mode. Take a look at the Wu characters, and he is the first in line. Yup, Zhou Yu is playable from the very start of DW5. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------5. Move Set -----------------------------------------------------------------------------S = Square T = Triangle S A single slash to the right SS Slashes to the right, then left SSS Slashes right, left, then right again SSSS Slashes right, left, right, the does an upward hit SSSSS Slashes right, left, right, up, then spins and slashes to the left SSSSSS Slashes right, left, right, up, spins and slashes left, then does a wide slash to the right Evolution (Requires a weapon with an Evolution Attack. These weapons will be either Level 3 or 4, and will have a blue dot next to the weapon name.) SSSSSSS Adds an upward hit to the SSSSSS SSSSSSSS Follows up hit a hit to the left SSSSSSSSS Finishes off with a very wide attack on the right side T Throws a Fire Orb forward. Explodes after a few seconds. ST Zhou Yu uppercuts the enemy, sending him upwards. Not very good, his SSSST is much better. SST (TTT) Does a nice combo where Zhou Yu spins 180 degrees each time,

hitting the enemy. It looks as though he is dancing. The number of times you can do this move depends on what level weapon you have. Stuns all enemies hit at the end SSST Zhou Yu jumps up, hits the enemy while in the air, turns clockwise, for another hit, then turns counterclockwise to get the last hit in. Looks very cool. SSSST A whirlwind surrounds Zhou Yu, throwing all close by enemies into the air. Works wonders for combos. SSSSST Throws a wide, charged slash, swinging to the right. Knocks the enemies very far away from you. Musou: A series of upward hits that send the enemies up. Works well for combos. True Musou: Same as his musou, but at the end, Zhou Yu thrusts his sword forward, causing a huge explosion. Looks great. S (While running) Zhou Yu continues to run, while swinging his sword in front of him. This is very effective against small numbers of soldiers. It also stuns the enemies. S (Jumping) Slashes to the left T (Jumping) Throws a circular beam forward, does a flip, and then hits the ground with his sword, causing a shockwave. S (Horse) - Hits to the side. The standard horse attack. T (Horse) - A charged hit to each side. Yawn. Musou (Horse) A strong hit on each side. How To Get Zhou Yu's Level 4 Weapon: This one is really easy; I actually got it on accident. Start playing the stage "The Battle of the Wu Territory" on Sun Ce's side, and make sure that the difficulty is set on Hard or Chaos Mode. Now, all you have to do is take over both of the enemy forts. (Not the one at the bottom, where Taishi Ci is, the other two). To do this, you must kill both Yan Baihu and Wang Lang. After that is done, you should get a valuable item report in the last fort. Orb: Fire Fire is a juggler's best friend. Use your charge moves to light the enemy (most likely a general) on fire, then keep him up in the air using

charge moves, to make sure he stays in the air. Item Slot 1: Tiger Amulet More attack never hurt anyone. Item Slot 2: Tortoise Amulet Defense is better than health, since it will keep you from being stunned by enemy attacks, so always have this equipped. Item Slot 3: Peacock Urn Defense may be better than life, but both are important. More life means you can take more hits, so this is a very good option. Item Slot 4: Wind Scroll More range is always nice. Zhou Yu could always use extra help on crowd control. Item Slot 5: Ginseng, Herbal Remedy, Musou Armor, Panacea Or whatever floats your boat. Musou 4 (which will be released in the US as "Dynasty Warriors 5", odds are). As in previous Musou games, each playable general has a unique weapon that can only be earned by fulfilling certain conditions. In this game, there are only three levels of normal weapons (which are picked up randomly) per general and thus the unique weapon is each general's 'fourth weapon'. This FAQ will go into the details of each general's fourth weapon as well as how to earn each one. This FAQ makes use of SJIS encoding in order to display Japanese characters. I included this feature so that if you do not know Japanese, you can easily match up the characters on your TV screen to the characters in this guide. You will need to have support for viewing Japanese characters on your computer, however. Certain versions of Windows should have it built in; otherwise, you'll either need to get a program like NJStar Communicator, or you'll need to get Japanese character support for Internet Explorer and open this file in IE instead of Notepad/Wordpad. The only websites authorized to post this FAQ are www.gamefaqs.com and www.kongming.net. If you see this document elsewhere, not only are they posting without my permission, but they likely do not have the most current version of this FAQ. FOURTH WEAPONS LIST This list is ordered simply by character name, in Pinying (anglicized Chinese spelling). Thus even though Wei's leader is named Sousou in Japanese, he is given in this FAQ as Cao Cao, (and thus comes first in the alphabetized list) as that is how his name will be spelled in the US release. Each entry will list the general's name, the name of the weapon (in kanji and translated), the weapon's stats, and then how to get that weapon. Some entries may be unfamiliar as they are new to the Musou series. "Weight" is a new attribute on every weapon and comes in three forms: Light, Average, and Heavy. Light weapons can be swung faster than normal, but they do less damage overall, whereas Heavy weapons are just the reverse. A Light and a Heavy weapon, both with the same base attack, will NOT do the same damage, thanks to this new attribute. "Bow" and "Mounted" are somewhat different from before. In this game, attack and defense for those two categories are consolidated into one statistic. Thus if a weapon has "Bow Lvl 15" on it, that means that weapon grants a level 15 enhancement to BOTH Bow Attack and Bow Defense. The highest possible base attack in this game is 40; the highest enhancement is 20. Fourth weapons can only be earned on Hard difficulty or above. Make sure the difficulty is set as such when you play. You can play either Musou or Free modes to earn Fourth Weapons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------CAO CAO Treacharous Sword of Heaven's Dependence Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 17

Bow Lvl 15 Life Lvl 17 Mounted Lvl 17 Attack Lvl 17 Battle of Xia Pi Defeat Gao Shun before you get the message that he's guarding the dam (). You can get the message that he's BEGUN guarding the dam, but you must defeat him quickly after that. Then just defeat Zhang Liao. The Precious Item box will show up outside the castle just outside the south gate. Since defeating Gao Shun makes the castle be flooded, you'll have to go in the castle from the north gate and go through to the south gate. Now just attack Lu Bu. You don't even need to defeat him; if you don't defeat him fast enough, he'll get bored and run, and his troops will turn on him and capture him, making you win the stage all the same. --------------------------------------------------------------------------CAO PI Irreverence Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 19 Speed Lvl 19 Attack Lvl 15 Battle of Wu Zhang Plains Here is an example of where it would be better to do this in Musou Mode than Free Mode. Wu Zhang Plains is a five-star battle, but in Cao Pi's Musou Mode it's only his fourth stage. Thus, if you do this in Musou Mode the difficulty will be lowered somewhat. First things first; defeat any three generals (not subgenerals) quickly. The ones all bunched up in the center make good fodder, as except for Wei Yan they're all generic guys. Once you kill three generals, Zhuge Liang will pass away. Continue fighting normally; at this point it would be a good idea to seal the enemy's supply route over to the east. Pretty soon you'll see an event where Jiang Wei lays a bunch of automatic crossbows on the central platform. Now all you have to do is get up there and break all of them. There will also be juggernauts floating around, not to mention archer towers, so be careful. Once you've destroyed every single automatic crossbow, the Precious Item box will conveniently appear right in the middle of that central platform. Pick it up and finish the stage to earn your fourth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------CAO REN Phoenix Wing Stats: Base Attack 32 Light Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 18 Attack Lvl 15 Life Lvl 19 Retreat of Chi Bi Your task is to defeat all enemy reinforcements quickly. "Quickly" in this case means that you should be able to defeat the reinforcement before Cao Cao's own reinforcement says something along the lines of "Go on first,

I'll take care of things here!". You don't need to worry about subgenerals, just get each major general as they show up. After you defeat Guan Ping, immediately head down south, as Sun Quan will show up in the southeast. Once you defeat Sun Quan, the Precious Item box will show up in the little nook between where Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei showed up. Grab the item, then go up and defeat Liu Bei to help Cao Cao escape. --------------------------------------------------------------------------DA QIAO Qiao Beauty Stats: Base Attack 32 Heavy Weight Luck Lvl 18 Attack Lvl 16 Life Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 19 Battle of Xia Kou You must defeat Cai Mao and Gan Ning before Ling Tong is defeated. Go up the left side first; Gan Ning will appear almost immediately and kill Ling Cao, which will prompt Ling Tong to charge. Gan Ning's in hyper mode for this battle, so be careful. Luckily you'll have Huang Gai and Ling Tong also keeping him busy. Now just head to the center section and defeat Cai Mao, who is nowhere near as hard. The Precious Item box appears just north of Cai Mao's position. --------------------------------------------------------------------------DIAN WEI True Ultimate Oxhead Stats: Base Attack 36 Light Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Musou Charge Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 18 Musou Lvl 17 Life Lvl 17 Battle of Wan Castle First rendezvous with Cao Cao. Now lead him to the escape gates, defeating enemies and generals (there'll be two of them) along the way. Once Cao Cao leaves the castle and you get the event where Dian Wei stays behind to block the gates, the hard part begins. You must not let a single enemy past the gates until you get the message that Cao Cao's escape is in progress. This usually happens after you've defeated 5 or 6 troop leaders (the generic enemies with names over their heads). Be careful, as the troop leaders tend to ignore you and just run straight past you. Once you get the message, the Precious Item box will appear slightly in front of you. At this point it doesn't matter if you let people past the gates (let too many and you lose the stage though) so go pick it up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------DIAO CHAN Gold Beautiful Jade Mace Stats: Base Attack 32 Heavy Weight Musou Charge Lvl 18 Luck Lvl 18

Speed Lvl 19 Defense Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 18 Battle of Xia Pi You must defeat all generals and subgenerals before Cao Cao arrives. You must also save your generals who are off in the west from being killed. Immediately head out to the western area and get Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan's subgenerals; this will trigger them to come charging themselves, so defeat them next. Once you've saved your allies, simply defeat Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Defeating all generals will cause Cao Cao to show up early; no worries though, as this should also trigger the Precious Item box to show up in the middle of the southwestern area. Pick it up and then defeat Cao Cao to finish the stage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------DONG ZHUO Ashura Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Luck Lvl 17 Mounted Lvl 17 Defense Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 18 Life Lvl 15 Battle of Liang Zhou First, take all 5 of the enemy bases. This shouldn't be too tough. The ones in the southwest and northeast call in reinforcements if you wait too long, but you should have no problem getting to them first. Now defeat Ma Chao. He'll have charge your base by now, so he'll be somewhere in the east amongst your army. Again, isolated as he is, he won't be too tough. Now take on Pang De. He's the toughest as he waits in the middle of his army. Take out the other generals first, one at a time if at all possible. After defeating Pang De, the Precious Item box will appear in the western part of the map, a little bit to the south. --------------------------------------------------------------------------GAN NING Sea Conqueror Stats: Base Attack 38 Light Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Luck Lvl 18 Speed Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 19 Musou Lvl 15 Battle of Xia Kou You need to defeat Ling Tong and Ling Cao within two minutes of the stage starting. Xia Kou is a 1-star difficulty stage, so this is actually quite simple if you remember one little thing - if you defeat Ling Cao first (which most people do since he's closer), Ling Tong will get enraged and go into hyper mode, making him much much harder to kill. Simply charge past Ling Cao, take out Ling Tong first, and then double back to Ling Cao, and you should have plenty of time to spare. The Precious Item box appears near the center of the map, near the boats. --------------------------------------------------------------------------GUAN PING

Dragon God's Ascendant Blade Stats: Base Attack 36 Light Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Luck Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Retreat of Chi Bi You must defeat all of the generals that appear; subgenerals don't matter. At first, only Cao Ren, Zhang Liao, and Xiahou Dun are on the map; these are coincidentally also the hardest guys to defeat. As time passes four more generals will show up; defeat all of them as well. Now hang out in the northeast corner. After quite a bit of time, Cao Cao's final reinforcement will show up. Defeat him to seal off Cao Cao's escape route, and the Precious Item box will appear near the center of the map. Now just finish off Cao Cao. --------------------------------------------------------------------------GUAN YU Gold Dragon Halberd Stats: Base Attack 38 Light Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Mounted Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Attack Lvl 18 Life Lvl 18 Battle of Fan Castle You must defeat Niu Jin and Yue Jin before the water attack succeeds, which happens four minutes into the stage. Neither are very tough; they're both Cao Ren's subgenerals, and they both charge for the dam where Guan Ping is located, so if you just head north and wait in front of the dam you can easily cut them off. Once you defeat them, wait for the water attack to trigger; once it does the Precious Item box will appear along the southern wall of the castle. Now comes the hard part - you have to get to the castle itself. Pang De is blocking your way, and he's pretty damn tough on this stage. Try and clear out the area around him first and make good use of the two enemy supply depots near him (remember, supply depot captains always drop full heal items). Don't take too long, or Wu reinforcements will show up, which will cause your army's morale to plummet, as well as some of your generals to defect. Once you defeat Pang De a bridge to the castle will appear. Head in, turn right and grab your weapon, then go and defeat Cao Ren; he should have next to no morale at this point, and he's much easier than Pang De. Brandon Boon has the following tip that you can try if you're having trouble with Pang De: Hey, just a comment on your strategy for getting Guan Yu's 4th weapon. If you want to save a lot of heartache fighting Pang De, do the following: 1) Kill Niu Jin and Yue Jin. 2) Make sure you have some time left before the water attack. 3) Pick a fight with Pang De, and get him to chase you into the low-lying grounds surrounding the castle (the part that will be flooded). 4) Wait for the message telling you to get to higher ground.

5) Run up, making sure Pang De is behind you. The second you make it to higher ground, the water attack will trigger, and anything in the flood zone will get wiped--if you did it right, Pang De will be a few steps behind you, and thus behind the arbitrary death marker. Instant kill without taking a swing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------HUANG GAI Sea-splitting Whip Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Luck Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Yellow Turban Rebellion You must defeat all generals and subgenerals outside of Zhang Jiao's fort. The subgenerals are spread all over the place so check your map frequently. Remember, if an ally general defeats a subgeneral instead of you, you will fail to earn the weapon, so make sure you defeat every general and subgeneral personally, and take out enemy generals that are engaged with your army first. Once you've defeated everybody, the Precious Item box will appear inside Zhang Jiao's fort, right in front of the altar. --------------------------------------------------------------------------HUANG ZHONG Evil Destroying Whirlwind Cutter Stats: Base Attack 36 Light Weight Musou Charge Lvl 18 Mounted Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 20 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 15 Battle of Mt. Ding Jun First capture the central mountain. This is as easy as defeating the general camped out there; you can ignore the base if you want to. Now comes the toughpart. You must charge downhill and defeat Xiahou Yuan within the next three minutes. Xiahou Yuan is in hyper mode in this stage, and this is going to be pretty tough as Huang Zhong isn't really that strong in the first place. Use a Musou Kakusei, Ice Orb or Yang Orb, and anything else you can think of to give you an edge. Once you defeat Xiahou Yuan, you're still not done; the last thing you need to do is defeat Zhang He before Cao Cao shows up. Thankfully, Zhang He is nowhere near as tough as Xiahou Yuan on this stage. Once you do all of this, the Precious Item box will show up when Cao Cao shows up at the bottom of the slope that you charged down (i.e., near Xiahou Yuan's initial position). --------------------------------------------------------------------------JIANG WEI Rising Dragon's Flashing Jaw Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight

Luck Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 18 Life Lvl 17 Battle of Tian Sui Note that you must be playing as the Wei army, even though Jiang Wei is Shu. This makes sense as at Tian Sui Jiang Wei was fighting for Wei, and it was here where Zhuge Liang convinced him to join Shu. Your goal is to defeat the reinforcement Gao Xiong . Gao Xiong shows up in the northeast when your commander tries to run, which he'll do when his morale gets low. To start off, don't advance any; don't defeat too many generals either, lest it boost your morale too high. You can probably take out Wei Yan, but leave the fake Jiang Wei alone. Once both forts fall and the gates to the castle opens, your commander should run. Go to the northeast and lie in wait for Gao Xiong. He isn't very tough at all, so take him out. The Precious Item box will appear in the route leading west from the castle. Now it's just a matter of if you can beat Zhuge Liang before your commander gets beaten up. Charge down to Zhuge Liang as fast as possible, ignoring the other generals, as your commander will get lost and charge straight into the enemy camp - he'll die very quickly if you aren't there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------LING TONG Raging Waves Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Speed Lvl 19 Life Lvl 15 Luck Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Battle of He Fei You must defeat Zhang Liao four times. Once the stage starts defeat generals and claim bases as normal, but don't stray too far from the center area. After awhile Zhang Liao will surprise attack Sun Quan from the south. Cut him off and defeat him. After awhile Zhang Liao will show up from the north center gate; defeat him again. After a little bit longer he'll show up from the southwest corner; then from the gate along the north wall right next to Cao Cao's castle. Defeat him all four times and the Precious Item box will appear on top of the castle wall's southeast corner. Climb the stairs from the inside of the castle and claim your prize. Zhang Liao is in hyper mode throughout the stage, which would be a problem for anybody else, but thanks to Ling Tong's ridiculously broken C4 (add on Ice Orb for a truly sick effect) he should be no match for you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------LIU BEI True Gold Dragon Sword Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Luck Lvl 20 Mounted Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 18 Defense Lvl 18 Musou Lvl 15 Battle of Yi Ling

You'll have to defeat a number of generals for this one. Take out the nearby enemy supply depot and gate; now just wait. That bridge you see to your north? The enemy will try and use it soon enough to fire attack you. Charge up your musou meter while you're waiting. Find some arrows if you can, too. Ling Tong will come over and camp out by the bridge at some point. This is an excellent chance to snipe him with arrows. In fact if you have enough, you can easily take him out before the bridge even deploys, which will make your job easier. Once the bridge deploys, Zhu Ran and Ling Tong (unless you already killed him) will come charging across. Defeat them both. Get Zhu Ran first if you can, as he sometimes runs away from you. After defeating Ling Tong, head north further and take out Gan Ning. He isn't too tough either. Head east and get Lu Xun next. Finally, head southeast (check your map for the precise location); you want to meet Sun Shang Xiang. She's a subgeneral of Sun Quan on this stage. When you do you'll get an event. So sad... Sun Shang Xiang will begin retreating, but apparently to get Liu Bei's fourth you have to be a real asshole, as you have to defeat her after she starts retreating. Way to go, Liu Bei. Once you defeat her, the Precious Item box will show up along the east side of the map, around the center. --------------------------------------------------------------------------LU BU Unparalleled Heavenly Halberd Stats: Base Attack 40 Average Weight Mounted Lvl 20 Defense Lvl 20 Attack Lvl 20 Musou Lvl 19 Life Lvl 19 Battle of Chang Mountain All you have to do is defeat 1000 enemies. This is pretty straightforward, although there is a small danger of running out of enemies before you hit 1000. Charge north as soon as the stage begins. Ignore Zhang Yan and go to his north. Take out the attack base that Zhang Yan is in if you can, as its catapults can be annoying. Also take out the nearby archer towers. Now sit in front of the gate (not so close that the gate captain comes charging after you) and just beat up people. And more people. And more people. Eventually your allies will come in and clean up after you, and they'll probably start beating up the gate captain as well. Still, if you have around 800 kills by this point, you should be just fine. Head on into the castle and rack up your remaining 200 kills. Watch out for Zhao Yun and Guan Yu, though... upon reaching 1000 kills, the Precious Item box will appear smack dab in the middle of the castle courtyard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------LU MENG Byakko's Jaws Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Mounted Lvl 16 Bow Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 17 Life Lvl 17 Battle of Fan Castle

Your goal is to defeat Zhang Bao and Zhang Fei. These guys show up as reinforcements pretty far into the stage. Start the stage as you normally would. After about five minutes in, you'll be told that an enemy gate is holding up Wei reinforcements. Go and capture the indicated gate (over on the east side of the map). Once you do, enemy reinforcements will show up, and Xu Huang will show up for your side. About another five minutes after that, Zhang Fei and Zhang Bao will show up in the southwestern fort. Since you have time to spare, try and clear out that area first. Zhang Bao is Zhang Fei's subgeneral, so go after him first. Once you've defeated them both, the Precious Item box shows up near the dam along the rivershore in the northwest. --------------------------------------------------------------------------LU XUN Flashing Flying Swallow Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Luck Lvl 18 Speed Lvl 20 Attack Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 19 Battle of Bai Di Castle Here your goal is to defeat both Ma Chao and Jiang Wei before Yue Ying arrives. Luckily for you, Yue Ying doesn't arrive at a set time; rather, she is set to show up 1 minute and 30 seconds after you either defeat Xing Cai or set foot in Bai Di Castle. As long as you know this, it's pretty easy not to trigger Yue Ying's appearance; just don't do either of those things (Xing Cai is in hyper mode anyway, plus she's got a row of automatic crossbows with her, meaning you're not too likely to defeat her even if you wanted to). Head north and take out Huang Zhong and his subgeneral. Along the way Ma Chao will get angry and disappear from the map. Suspicious... depending on how long you take, you may or may not reach the northern maze before Ma Chao sneak attacks Sun Quan. In any case, it wouldn't hurt to camp out by Sun Quan and minimize your losses when Ma Chao does show up. He too is in hyper mode, plus he uses a Musou Kakusei after a bit, making him very dangerous. Run away when he uses the Musou Kakusei and for the love of god take out the archers, especially since Lu Xun doesn't handle crowds too well. Once you defeat Ma Chao, head to the maze. Take out the subgeneral guarding the entrance, then head around the maze in a clockwise fashion until you get to the center. There's a strange statue here. Break it; this will prompt some generic troops to show up. All you have to do now is defeat all of the generic troops here, and you'll have cleared the maze (every single door will open). There is a full heal in the northeast corner if you need it. Now all that's left to do is to take out Jiang Wei. Get behind the automatic crossbow as fast as possible. Jiang Wei isn't in hyper mode or anything, so he should be pretty easy. Once you defeat him, the Precious Item box will show up in the northeast corner of the maze (same room as where the full heal is). --------------------------------------------------------------------------MA CHAO Dragon Knight Edge Stats: Base Attack 38 Average Weight

Mounted Lvl 20 Defense Lvl 16 Life Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 17 Battle of Tong Gate This is without a doubt the easiest weapon to get in the entire game. Actually, this is the easiest weapon to get in the entire history of Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games. Soon after the stage starts, Cao Cao will begin heading north. All you have to do is knock him off of his horse before he crosses the river in the north. Simply put Ma Chao on a horse (as if you wouldn't anyway), charge for Cao Cao as soon as the stage starts, and smack him once. The Precious Item box will appear in the north area, east of the river. Now just loop back and beat up Cao Cao. --------------------------------------------------------------------------MENG HUO King of Hundred Beasts Stats: Base Attack 36 Light Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Musou Charge Lvl 15 Mounted Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 18 Life Lvl 19 Pacification of Nan Zhong Your task is pretty straightforward - just defeat Wei Yan, Huang Zhong, and Yue Ying. Upon doing so the Precious Item box will show up in the southern secret passage (the dark gray areas of the map that you can see but the Shu army cannot). Meng Huo is so freakin' slow you'll definitely want a horse, but otherwise there isn't really any trick or strategy to this one (though watch out for the juggernauts when facing Yue Ying). --------------------------------------------------------------------------PANG DE World-shaking Stats: Base Attack 36 Light Weight Luck Lvl 15 Mounted Lvl 17 Defense Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 16 Life Lvl 18 Battle of Mt. Ding Jun Here you need to defeat all generals besides Liu Bei and Fa Zeng before Cao Cao arrives. There is a trick to this; if you enter the central mountain at any point, Huang Zhong will charge downwards and kill Xiahou Yuan pretty quickly, which makes Cao Cao show up. Thus, you should avoid going onto the mountaintop until you're ready to take Huang Zhong. First head south and take care of Zhao Yun and Guan Ping. Then loop around north without climbing the mountain to get Wei Yan. Go back towards your own camp; two more of the Shu generals should've come charging by now, defeat them both. Finally just defeat Huang Zhong. He's pretty ridiculously tough on this stage, so make sure you're amply buffed. Once you defeat him, the Precious Item box will appear along the southern edge of the map.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------PANG TONG Superb Wind God's Staff Stats: Base Attack 32 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 18 Luck Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Pacification of Nan Zhong Follow Zhuge Liang's orders and clear the poison lakes, beast units, and armored troops 'missions'. The poison lake mission simply requires taking the base to its east (the one right in front of you); the beast unit mission involves taking the base to the east of the northern central area. The armored troops mission is a little trickier. When you enter the area with Wu Tugu , armored troops will show up. Zhuge Liang will send out a tactics squad and some pots that explode to that area. You simply have to defeat Wu Tugu before the tactics squad is defeated, which isn't too hard. After clearing all three of these missions, the Precious Item box will appear a little to the northwest of the poison lakes area. --------------------------------------------------------------------------SIMA YI Odd Miracle Feathered Fan Stats: Base Attack 32 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 19 Musou Charge Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 15 Battle of Chen Cang You must stop the siege machine lines by taking all three of the enemy defense bases along the south before any damage is done to your castle walls. It takes awhile for the walls to be damaged so you can pretty much ignore the siege machines that are already on the map and just head straight for each defense point. Ignore generals if possible. Once you get all three defense points, the Precious Item box will appear just inside the castle near where you started. After this it doesn't matter if the castle walls are breached; just have a field day killing generals and finish the stage at your leisure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------SUN CE Conqueror King Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 18 Life Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 18 Musou Lvl 15 Sun Ce Illusionary Battle Have fun with all the clones... your end goal is to defeat all of the

illusory Gan Jis within 10 minutes of the stage starting. The stage starts pretty straightforward. Gan Ji will do annoying things like summon phantom soldiers, summon your own soldiers against you, and eventually summon illusions of Sun Jian and Da Qiao. Defeat Sun Jian in the west and Da Qiao in the east. Now SAVE. After all of this, Gan Ji will clone himself again. Your goal now is to defeat all of the clones (again, all of this needs to be done within 10 minutes). The first couple clones aren't too bad, but as you defeat them the remaining clones power up (go into hyper mode). If you have a Musou Kakusei, use it. Also be careful that you don't defeat the real Gan Ji (he'll have nearly two full life bars, so you should be able to tell which one is the real one) because if you do, the stage ends and you don't get your weapon. Once you defeat all of the illusory Gan Jis, the Precious Item box appears in the small area to the north. Grab it, then go back down south and finish off the real Gan Ji to complete the stage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------SUN JIAN True Heavenly Wolf Sword Stats: Base Attack 34 Light Weight Musou Charge Lvl 18 Defense Lvl 16 Mounted Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 15 Life Lvl 15 Battle of Si Sui Gate Your task is a simple one, but it isn't easy. You have to defeat Lu Bu within 5 minutes of him showing up, which triggers once you get in front of the castle gates. Of course, Lu Bu is Lu Bu, and rather tough. You'll need to buff Sun Jian up fairly well, and using a Musou Kakusei always helps. Once you complete that, the Precious Item box will show up right in front of the gate, which is convenient. --------------------------------------------------------------------------SUN QUAN White Flame Emperor Wolf Sword Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 18 Charge Attack Lvl 17 Battle of Chi Bi This is one weapon that I recommend doing in Musou mode instead of Free mode. The reason is that in Free mode, Chi Bi is a 5-star difficulty battle for Wu and Shu. However, in Musou mode, Chi Bi is only Sun Quan's second stage. Thus, if you do it in Musou mode, even on Hard difficulty, it won't be nearly as hard as it is in Free mode. To get this weapon you'll need to succeed in all three parts of the fire attack, namely linking the enemy boats, causing the southeast wind to blow, and actually setting the fire itself. First things first, you need to cause the boats to be linked. This is done by defeating Cai Mao and Wang Lang , which will drop the bridges in the center. Now Zhuge Liang will begin praying for the wind and Huang Gai will begin preparations to set off on the boats. Xiahou Yuan will come

down to intercept Huang Gai, while Zhang Liao and his two subs will work their way down the west side to try and interrupt Zhuge Liang. Thus, if you just defeat Xiahou Yuan and Zhang Liao, you should be able to succeed at the next two parts. While you're waiting you should probably go up the east side of the map as Zhen Ji and her subgenerals are rather fierce and are probably beating up your generals by now. Once the fire attack succeeds, though, this will all change, as the Wei army morale drops to pretty much nothing. This will cause the Precious Item box to appear on the large boat directly south of Cao Cao's boat. --------------------------------------------------------------------------SUN SHANG XIANG Sun and Moon, Heaven and Earth Ring Stats: Base Attack 32 Heavy Weight Luck Lvl 19 Bow Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 19 Defense Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Battle of Nan Zhong Do not defeat any generals until you trigger the event where Sun Shang Xiang rendezvous with Sun Quan successfully. To trigger this event, charge towards Meng Huo (again, ignore all generals, although you can take out bases). Ambush troops will appear near your home base and a squad will try to take out the bridge to the south of main base. Wait for a minute or so; eventually the bridge will be destroyed. Now approach Sun Quan. You should see a cutscene where Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang are talking. Now for the real event - you must defeat all generals and subgenerals except Meng Huo. You must do so yourself - if your bodyguard or an ally general lands the finishing blow, it doesn't count. So set your bodyguard to defend only and take out generals who are engaged with your army first. There are a total of three subgenerals (Ahui Nan and Dong Tu Ne in the middle area, and Meng You deep in enemy territory), make sure you kill them before you take out their commanding officer. There will be three reinforcements showing up as time goes by; you must defeat them all as well. As long as an enemy general isn't defeated by your allies first, this is actually pretty straightforward once you trigger the event. The Precious Item box will appear just outside the base in the northwest, next to the river. --------------------------------------------------------------------------TAISHI CI Revised Tiger Repelling Wolf Basher Stats: Base Attack Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Mounted Level 15 Bow Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 18 Life Lvl 18 Battle of Wu Territory You must be playing on the Allied Army side, not for Wu, when you do this stage. Historically Taishi Ci was against Wu during this battle/campaign anyway, so this all makes sense.

After Zhang Ying lures Sun Quan into the eastern fort (which happens soon after the stage begins), defeat Sun Quan before Zhou Tai can rendezvous with him. Then defeat Zhou Tai. The Precious Item box will appear along the north of the map, in front of the gate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------WEI YAN Twin Ultimate Star Destroyer Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Luck Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 18 Musou Lvl 15 Battle of Chen Cang You need to defeat the four guard captains that are running the defensive machines of the castle. They're all just inside the south wall of the castle, three in the main part and one over on the far west. When the stage starts charge up the eastern road and enter the castle from the east, then turn south. Along the wall you should find three of the four guard captains. Defeat them. Now loop around north and to the west to get to the fourth guard captain. Once you've defeated all four, the Precious Item box will appear on top of the wall just south of Sima Yi's area. Go back around to the east and head towards Sima Yi's area from east to west; once you enter his area, take the stairs along the south wall up and claim your weapon, then just go back down and defeat Sima Yi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XIAHOU DUN Kirin Destroying Fang Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Mounted Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Attack Lvl 17 Musou Lvl 16 Charge Attack Lvl 17 Battle of Fan Castle You must stop the water attack on Fan Castle. This is as simple as defeating Guan Ping, up in the northwest corner. However, Guan Ping has the capability to go into hyper mode (though he doesn't start that way), so try and get him as fast as possible. This is further complicated by the fact that other generals and subgenerals tend to chase you into the damn and mob you when you're trying to take out Guan Ping. Go for lesser generals first, as they die faster, but can still interrupt all of your attacks. Once you defeat Guan Ping and you get the message that you succeeded in stopping the water attack, the Precious Item box will appear in the northeast corner of Guan Yu's base. By this time Wu reinforcements should have shown up as well. Guan Yu will begin a charge out of the base, so sneak in behind him and grab your weapon, then go back and defeat him to finish the stage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XIAHOU YUAN Hard Gold Nine Heavens Splitter

Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 16 Life Lvl 17 Bow Lvl 19 Musou Lvl 17 Battle of Chi Bi Your goal is to stop all of the parts of the enemy's fire plan. As soon as the stage starts, follow Pang Tong; once he reaches the other army, he'll switch sides, so defeat him once he does. Now head down to Zhuge Liang's altar and defeat him before he can call the wind. After doing that, go over to the east side and wait for Huang Gai to show up. Once he does, defeat him before he can start the fire plan. After finishing these three tasks, the Precious Item box will appear near Zhuge Liang's altar. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XIAO QIAO Qiao Grace Stats: Base Attack 32 Heavy Weight Charge Attack Lvl 17 Musou Charge Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 19 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 15 Battle of Jing Zhou Defeat Cai Mao and Lu Gong before Sun Jian gets ambushed and retreats. This happens pretty quickly, but luckily both Cai Mao and Lu Gong are rather weak and you won't need a very highly buffed Xiao Qiao to do this. The Precious Item box appears just south of the entrance to Liu Biao (the enemy commander)'s courtyard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XING CAI Brilliant Sky Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Mounted Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Musou Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Battle of Bai Ti Castle Three minutes into the battle, peasant troops will appear southwest of the castle. Once they do, go and kill all the generals in the area. You should get a message that the peasant troops have been successfully saved, and they and Ma Chao should retreat to the castle. Now the tricky part - you must purposefully let your health drop to a fairly low amount (rather red). While you're at it take out Zhou Tai, to your north; this'll make things easier later. Once your health drops fairly low, Liu Shan (your commander) will get worried and come out of the castle after you, out of the south door. Immediately go and rendezvous with him. You'll get a cutscene, and now you have to lead Liu Shan back to the castle. Do so and this completes the requirements. Conveniently, the Precious Item box appears inside the castle just along the west wall; also conveniently, there is a jar south of the Precious Item box that contains a Health +400 roast chicken, so you

can get back all the health that you lost. If the castle is already surrounded, fight your way out; otherwise head to the northwest area (Sun Quan will teleport to the southwest, so chase him) and beat up Sun Quan to finish the stage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XU HUANG Bai Hu's Fang Stats: Base Attack 38 Light Weight Attack Lvl 20 Defense Lvl 19 Speed Lvl 17 Musou Charge Lvl 16 Battle of Chang Ban Here you need to defeat Zhang Fei and Guan Yu, but only once Liu Bei's final reinforcements show up. Once the stage starts, go down south and claim the two neutral bases down there; avoid claiming the bases in the center, though, as if Liu Bei is held up too long it decreases your chances of getting this weapon. Liu Bei will come to a halt somewhere in the center of the map. Take the opportunity to defeat enemy generals (don't get too close to Liu Bei) and claim gates/bases while you can. After awhile Guan Yu will show up in the southwest. This will prompt Liu Bei to head down that way, which is why you shouldn't block Liu Bei's path by claiming the center bases. At around the same time Zhang Fei will stop guarding the bridge up north and retreat towards the center. Now camp out near the center near Zhang Fei (not so close that he comes to attack you). After waiting some more, Liu Bei's navy will arrive in the southeast. Now is your cue to do your stuff. Defeat Zhang Fei, and then head south and defeat Guan Yu. If you claimed the two southern bases before like I told you to, Liu Bei won't be going anywhere. Once you defeat the two brothers, the Precious Item box will appear in the southwestern corner, near where Guan Yu showed up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------XU ZHU Superb Waterfall Crusher Stats: Base Attack 38 Light Weight Musou Charge 17 Bow Lvl 19 Life Lvl 20 Luck Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 19 Battle of Tong Gate Defeat Pang De and Ma Chao. Since the conditions for winning this stage are to defeat Pang De, Ma Chao, and Han Sui , you need to make sure you don't defeat Han Sui first. This shouldn't be a problem though since he's isolated way up north, where Ma Chao and Pang De are west from your starting location. Ignore Cao Cao's orders to charge north. Ma Chao will charge Cao Cao's position, but you'll run across him if you simply head west. He's pretty tough so be careful; it really helps having a fan-using bodyguard. Also watch out for the lesser generals in the area; they aren't tough, but getting mobbed while you're trying to take Ma Chao is a serious pain. Try to take out as many archers as you can too, as they're a serious liability for Xu Zhu (or, just equip the Musou Armor). Now onto Pang De, who is even tougher on this stage. As long as you got everybody else in

the area, though, you should be able to handle him. Just run away if he uses a Musou Kakusei. Once you defeat the both of them, the Precious Item box will appear in the river west of where you started. Just go back and get it, then join Cao Cao in the north and finish of Han Sui. --------------------------------------------------------------------------YUAN SHAO True Conqueror's Sword Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Attack Lvl 18 Mounted Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 18 Musou Lvl 17 Battle of Guan Du To earn this weapon you'll need to protect your own generals Yan Liang and Wen Chou, and demoralize Cao Cao's army to the point where they open the gates for you. If you know your history well, you'll know that Guan Yu killed Yan Liang and Wen Chou pretty much off the bat at Guan Du, and of course the game is the same way. You'll need to defeat Guan Yu before he encounters either of those two generals (else they die suddenly in a cutscene). Afterwards it's just a matter of demoralizing Cao Cao's troops, so defeat generals and take enemy bases as you go along. Once their morale is reduced to nothing, the troops will throw open the side gates of the castle. The Precious Item box will appear on top of the castle gates, on the east side. Climb the stairs up to the walls from inside the castle to get it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------YUE YING Pale Moon at Lake's Bottom Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Mounted Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 17 Life Lvl 16 Battle of Wu Zhang Plains This is going to be a tough one. Wu Zhang Plains is a five-star stage, and even after you get the weapon you'll have quite a time just trying to win, so make sure Yue Ying is fairly built up. To trigger the weapon to appear, you must defeat Deng Ai before he manages to set up the catapults. Deng Ai will appear as soon as you enter any of the three supply depots on the enemy front lines. If you wait too long, too, he'll appear anyway. First things first; head northwards and take out the varied subgenerals and generals headed your way. I also like to take the two enemy gates as well as the attack base on the western side of the map; it'll make the later stage much easier. Once you've cleared out this side, go up to the far left supply depot. Kill the captain guarding the doors, then hop on your horse and speed through the supply depot north. Don't worry about taking the supply depot itself, for now; Deng Ai will already be well on his way to setting up the catapults, in the center of the map. Run him over with your horse, then get off and beat him up. He isn't too hard, but if you let him he WILL run away from you, and he's surprisingly fast. So just keep up the pressure. A few

good combos should take him out. Once you've defeated him, the Precious Item box will appear in the dead end (where the catapults WOULD have gone) on the enemy's side of the map, south of Zhen Ji's position. Now back to winning the real battle. By now one or more enemy generals will probably have made their way pretty far down the east side of the map. Chase them and take them out so you don't have to worry about your commander dying. Take the enemy supply depots one by one. The only generals you really have to worry about are Cao Ren, Zhen Ji, and Xu Zhu; the rest are generic weaklings. Still, go ahead and take out subgenerals first; you'll get a lot of good Attack and Defense +4/8s on this stage, so you might as well. If you get this far, the rest of your army should be quite able to help you take out Sima Yi at the top of the map. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHANG FEI Army-destroying Snake Spear Stats: Base Attack 39 Light Weight Musou Charge Lvl 16 Mounted Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 15 Attack Lvl 19 Musou Lvl 17 Battle of Chang Ban As soon as the stage starts, defeat Wen Pin , Xiahou Dun, and Xiahou En . The first two will come charging your position, so they should be easy enough; Xiahou En is one of Yu Jin's subgenerals, so go out and find him. Once you've defeated all three, the Precious Item box appears on the bridge that you were supposed to be guarding... ahem. Pick it up and finish the stage normally. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHANG HE Zhu Qiao's Rainbow Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 19 Attack Lvl 16 Musou Lvl 18 Charge Attack Lvl 15 Battle of Jie Ting First you need to surround Ma Su. Defeat Gao Xiong and take the gate near him to seal off one ally route; then do the same with Wang Ping and the gate near him. Now claim the supply depot in Ma Su's camp. This will complete the plan to surround Ma Su; he'll be demoralized and begin to retreat (or, if you do all of this quickly enough, he'll never have left his camp in the first place). You'll know when he begins retreating because he'll lose his hyper mode enhancement. Once this occurs, simply kill him. The Precious item box will appear in the corridor leading eastwards from Ma Su's camp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHANG JIAO Roaring Fire God's Staff Stats: Base Attack 34

Light Weight Life Lvl 17 Musou Lvl 19 Musou Charge Lvl 17 Charge Attack Lvl 16 Defense Lvl 18 Yellow Turban Rebellion This is probably the hardest fourth weapon to get in the game, both because the conditions are strict and because Zhang Jiao is a pretty crappy character. You must rendezvous with Zhang Bao and brainwash Cao Cao's army, rendezvous with Zhang Liang and brainwash Sun Jian's army, and let Zhang Man Cheng drop rocks on the enemy; and the kicker is you must accomplish all of this without letting any of your allies die. Thanks a lot, Koei. First things first; to have Zhang Man Cheng succeed in dropping the rocks, you'll have to take care of Gongsun Yue who's in his way. Do this as quickly as possible. Now go to the southern altar and rendezvous with Zhang Liang to brainwash Sun Jian's army. You have to stay on the altar with Zhang Liang until you get the cutscene where you succeed. You can kill stray Sun Jian subgenerals that get onto the altar, but you can't kill Sun Jian himself. After awhile you'll succeed. Immediately head for the central altar and meet up with Zhang Bao to do the same thing to Cao Cao's army. If you manage to complete all three successfully with all of your generals still alive, the Precious Item box will show up near Zhang Liang's altar. If your generals are dying, there are several things you can do; you can try and take out enemy generals near them (though remember, you cannot get Cao Cao or Sun Jian); you can take a strong bodyguard and leave them next to your allies (by pressing select until the 'hand' icon comes up); you can use a bodyguard with the 'Kobu' skill (which raises your ally morale); or you can play 2P and have the second player guard any of your allies in danger of dying. If you successfully get the weapon, you still have to clear the stage; again, no mean feat for Zhang Jiao, since you have to kill every general that's left. Dong Zhuo shows up midway through the battle and yes, you have to get him too. Good luck, you'll need it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHANG LIAO Stats: Base Attack 37 Average Weight Life Lvl 17 Attack Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 19 Musou Charge Lvl 18 Charge Attack Lvl 12 Battle of He Fei Your goal is to scare the enemy troops within 10 minutes. Scaring the troops has three stages; first the enemy troops will say something like "This guy's strong!"; the second step will have them say something like "We can't win again him!", and finally on the third step Zhang Liao will announce himself and scare the enemy completely. Normally you can scare the troops by defeating 9 generals or subgenerals (each stage taking three kills), but if you manage to kill a lot of generic troops as well it sometimes takes fewer than 9. In any case, go after the subgenerals first since they're easy to kill. Once Sun Quan retreats into the corner, Taishi Ci and Lu Meng will rush in to join him; ignore them and go for the other generals and subgenerals out in the field. Once you've scared everybody, the Precious Item box will appear in one of the islands in the southeast

of the map. Since your army will have broken the bridge by now, you'll have to head in from the south. It would also be a good idea to take out Gan Ning when he shows up so he doesn't kill Cao Cao and ruin your record. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHAO YUN Master Gentian Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 17 Defense Lvl 17 Musou Lvl 17 Battle of Cheng Du Your goal is to conquer the southern fort. Defeat Liu Xun 's three subgenerals, then defeat him. Now open the west and north gates to the southern fort by defeating the gate captains in front of them. The Precious Item box will appear in the middle of the fort. Pick it up and complete the stage normally - this is a pretty easy one to get. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHEN JI Moon Fairy Crazed Sun Stats: Base Attack 32 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 20 Mounted Lvl 17 Bow Lvl 18 Defense Lvl 18 Life Lvl 17 Battle of New He Fei Castle Your task is simply to rack up 300 kills, then rendezvous with Cao Pi. As long as your Zhen Ji isn't woefully underpowered, this should be a piece of cake. Simply go around the castle killing generals and generic enemies; once the ambush troops appear, it would be a convenient time to loop back and meet Cao Pi. If you can destroy the two army siege machines that head for the front gate of the castle, that will help your morale for the latter part of the battle. Once you approach Cao Pi, you should get a cutscene with him and Zhen Ji (not the one where they talk about the ambush; it should begin with a scene of Zhen Ji dispatching a number of enemy troops with her flute). Afterwards the Precious Item box will appear. Unfortunately it appears right on Sun Quan's boat, past Zhou Tai. So you'll have to fight your way down there; don't forget to pick up the box before beating up Sun Quan. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHOU TAI Dusk Stats: Base Attack 36 Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 18

Battle of Yi Ling You must defeat Zhao Yun before the fire attack, and then you must succeed in the fire attack itself. Zhou Tai starts on the opposite side of the map from Zhao Yun; a horse is necessary. While you're headed over there, go ahead and defeat the one or two generals that charge east; you'll have plenty of time, and this will reduce the chances that Sun Shang Xiang will die. Ignore the generals in the middle and charge for Zhao Yun. He isn't too tough. Take him out, then go north and take out Shamoke. Shamoke's a real monster and can take out Ling Tong and Gan Ning all by himself if you leave him alone, but oddly if you face him yourself he isn't so bad (no hyper mode or anything). By now the preparations for the fire attack should be complete. Zhu Ran will charge into the enemy camp; escort him to his destination. Although he doesn't run across any enemies, really, if you aren't on the same screen with him he tends to die, so just stick with him until the fire attack succeeds. When it does, Liu Bei will begin retreating into the southwest corner, and at the same time the Precious Item box will appear in your favorite place - the Stone Warriors maze. As usual, you cannot access the map while you're in the maze, and the screen will go all hazy to boot. Still, at least the box is easy to find; simply head straight south (i.e., forward) from the entrance, and you should find it. After finding it, turn right (westwards) and try to go forward. If you follow the south wall, which does contort a lot, you SHOULD be able to find the exit. Good luck. After that all that's left is defeating Liu Bei. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHOU YU Ancient Crafted Blade Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 17 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 18 Bow Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 16 Battle of Wu Territory Your only goal is to take both enemy forts. The northeastern fort can be taken simply by defeating Yan Baihu whereas the western fort is taken by defeating Wang Lang . After defeating the pair, the Precious Item will appear on top of the west wall of Taishi Ci's fort. Take the stairs on the inside of the fort up and grab the box, then just defeat Taishi Ci for the win. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHUGE LIANG Zhu Qiao's Feathered Fan Stats: Base Attack Average Weight Musou Charge Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 18 Bow Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 20 Charge Attack Lvl 18 Battle of Tian Sui Take both forts in front of you by defeating the generals inside them. Now after awhile, Jiang Wei will decide that he'd better go back to the

castle. Intercept him from the eastern route and defeat him before he gets back. Do so and the Precious Item box will appear in the middle of the eastern fort. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZHU RONG Inferno Stats: Base Attack 34 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 16 Musou Charge Lvl 17 Bow Lvl 15 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 18 Invasion of Nan Zhong Here you need to defeat Jiang Qin and Gan Ning without having destroyed the bridge first. The two show up as reinforcements. Clear out the area but don't get near the bridge (which is just south of Lu Meng), as that will trigger the bridge-destroying event. Instead just sit tight. About 17 minutes into the stage, your elephant troops will get restless and charge the main camp anyway. At this point the reinforcements for Wu should show up along the west side of the map. Defeat them both and the Precious Item box will appear near the bridge you were supposed to destroy. Pick it up and finish off Sun Quan. --------------------------------------------------------------------------ZUO CI Heaven and Hell Glowing Charm Stats: Base Attack 40 Average Weight Charge Attack Lvl 15 Bow Lvl 15 Musou Charge Lvl 20 Defense Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 20 Battle of Hu Lao Gate Here you simply have to defeat Lu Bu. Unlike Sun Jian's task, there appears to be no time limit, and Zuo Ci is pretty overpowered anyway. Still, Lu Bu is in super-hyper-mode on this stage, so if you aren't somewhat buffed you'll still die... Once you defeat Lu Bu, the Precious Item box will show up on top of the south wall of the castle. Climb the stairs from the inside on the south side and pick up the box, then defeat Dong Zhuo. 3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. The method you gave isn't working! A. Try again. Make sure your difficulty is set to "Hard" or above. Be wary of time limits. If you just can't do things fast enough, power up your character and try again. Note that even if you play 2P, the CHARACTER WHO IS EARNING THE WEAPON MUST FULFILL ALL CONDITIONS HIMSELF. If the conditions are to defeat 3 generals, and you defeat 2 of them, but the 2P person defeats the third, or your bodyguard defeats the third, or an ally general defeats the third, you will NOT get the item. If I tell you to take an enemy base, YOUR CHARACTER must defeat the base captain. To save yourself the frustration, set your bodyguard to defend (press Select until the shield icon comes up) and don't let whoever's

playing 2P kill anybody important. Q. These weapons kind of suck, don't they? A. They might suck compared to previous games, but it's all relative. In this game the base attack of the normal weapons is very low and grows very slowly; the fourth weapons generally have base attacks around 20 points higher than the third weapons. Thus, unlike previous games, it's hard (maybe even impossible) to find a random third weapon that is better than a general's fourth. Q. If a weapon has Attack+ on it and I equip the Attack+ item, will it stack? A. Yes. Incidentally this is the same as DW3 and SW; in DW4, it did not stack. Q. How come all the heavy weapons are for the girls? Isn't that stupid? A. Yes, it is. I have to wonder if the Koei developers suddenly developed sexism. Q. Why do heavy weapons suck? A. This is just my opinion, but heavy weapons without attack+ suck. Why? Because they make you run slower and swing slower, and the damage bonus is minimal at best. Since the characters that get heavy 4ths (Sun Shang Xiang, Diao Chan, and the two Qiaos) aren't exactly powerhouses, speed is their biggest asset, and their fourths just obliterate their advantage. This isn't that a big deal on Easy or Normal, but on Hard and above you're just going to get all of your combos blocked or interrupted. Compare to strong slow characters like Dian Wei and Xu Chu, for whom their 4ths have both light weight and attack+, making them both faster and stronger. And some rather strong-in-the-first-place characters like Sun Jian and Gan Ning get light weapons with attack+, making them gamebreaking cheap monsters. Therefore for no good reason, Sun Shang Xiang, Diao Chan, and the two Qiaos (none of whom were exactly overpowered in the first place) are pretty much screwed over by their fourth weapons. Q. Is there a difference between earning weapons on Free Mode or Musou Mode? A. Yes, there is. Aside from just picking "Hard" difficulty, each battle has a rating in free mode. Sometimes this difficulty rating is far different from the rating that would be encountered in Musou mode. For instance, the Battle of Chi Bi for Wu is a 5-star difficulty battle in Free mode. However, in Sun Quan's Musou mode, Chi Bi is only the second stage, and therefore is not very tough at all. Since Sun Quan's 4th weapon is earned on Chi Bi, in his case it is much easier to try and earn his 4th in Musou Mode rather than Free Mode. Note that this also affects the quality of items and weapons you find; in Free Mode, since Chi Bi is a 5-star difficulty stage, you can easily find good 3rd weapons and high (Lvl 16-20ish) items, whereas if you do the same on Chi Bi in Sun Quan's Musou Mode, you'll only find average 2nd weapons and some mediocre items. There are cases where Free Mode is better, as well; Guan Yu's 4th is earned at the Battle of Fan Castle, which is his last stage and therefore pretty tough, but in Free Mode it's 'only' four stars. Thus, not only do you save the time of having to go through Guan Yu's Musou mode, you also reduce the difficulty slightly by playing Free Mode. 4. CREDITS Thanks go to:

There's no fun in playing the same level over and over again. That's the reason for this guide -- so you can play whatever stage you feel like and still rack up a decent reward. Notes: - Landmarks given are designed to be as close as possible to the item in question. IE - If the directions say "northeast of the altar", you should look at most two visual fields away. I personally find this much more precise than a descriptive pointer (like, "go down the west road and take the first right"). - When I use the term "center of the map", it means the *point* that you can find closest to the exact center of the stage. Example: "center of map, western base" means from the center of the map, look at the base to the west. - The term "XXX side of the map" means the boundries of the stage, the physical edge of the map. - Cache means an item/weapon combo. (two boxes very close together) - Thanks to those on the Gamefaqs forums who added to my draft. Also, big help from Muni Shinobu's faq for mosou wine/dim sum drops. - Dim sum/mosou wine will be +20 instead of +10 if you're playing a five-star stage on normal difficulty or a four/five-star stage on hard. The ITT is a trick that allows you to obtain desired bodyguards/weapons/items that are normally hard to attain in a normal play. The guide here covers how to attain S/S bodyguards, good 3rd weapons, level 20 items, and test your delay on your PlayStation 2. /\----------------/\ |_| ITT Procedure /(003A)/ | |---------------\_____/ Remove your hard drive if it is installed. The procedure below shows you step-by-step how to use the ITT: ___________ / Procedure \ 1. Enter the configuration screen for your PlayStation 2. Make sure your game is in the machine. 2. Set your time zone to "Tokyo" (GMT+9) or equivalent. Set the time format to the 24-hour clock. Set daylight savings to standard time (winter). 3. Enter the time that corresponds to the bodyguard/weapon/item you want. 4. Confirm, reset, and let the game run. You must reset before the time starts to run. 5. Quickly enter a battle. For bodyguards, Guan Yu's Escape with Cao Cao's Forces on EASY is suggested. For weapons/items, the battle must be 5-star difficulty on HARD or CHAOS. 6. Choose a character that has 40,000 experience points or above, and select a bodyguard with HIRE for bodyguards, FIND for weapons, and ITEM for items. 7.
