Admission Requirements (1)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS At least a Master's degree (5 years study or 300 credits), or equivalent,
in Naval, Marine, Offshore, Ocean Engineering or related fields (Civil Eng., Mechanical Eng., Material Eng., Physics,),

is required. Graduated students (5 years study or 300 credits) from Naval School (or similar) are also welcome.

Admission Requirements (2)

In principle, scan copies of the 5 years study (or 300 credits) have to be included before application deadline (before 15th December). But if a student is performing his 5th year at the time of application, he/she has : - to provide a formal letter from his institution certifying that he/she will be graduated before EMShip master starts. - to provide certificates for the 4 previous years.

Admission Requirements (3)

In special circumstances, students with
outstanding records or high education level, can also apply with only Masters Degree in 4 years study (or 240 credits). This situation is an exceptional case. This special rule provides extra flexibility to educate students with specific CVs and high motivation. The acceptance of such students is analysed by the admission department of ULG (as equivalence studies can be accepted). WWW.EMSHIP.EU

Admission Requirements (4)

English level: A fair level of English is required to attend EMship lectures, which are all given in English!!
Admission Requirement: Student has to demonstrate, by any means, their English knowledge. The best would be a language certificate like e.g. TOEFL or IELTS. As indicative value, a level of 550 and 213 points
are expected for the TOEFL and Computerized TOEFL, respectively. Marks of at least 6 (on a total of 9) are required for the IELTS).

A control of the student English Knowledge can be performed before selection through a phone call discussion (skype.com, ) and/or MSN.

SELECTION CRITERIA Selection Criteria

Even there is no formal minimum requirement as a minimum GPA (grade point average), students are selected first on basis of Excellence. Then, GPA is considered as a major criteria. Student motivation is another key criteria (based on the student motivation letters)

STUDENT PROFILES
Typical EMship candidate profiles include: Candidates having a research profile who want complete their education with an advanced background in Ship Design before to start PhD, .. Engineers already involved in a professional career, as ship officer, shipowner staff, shipyard staff, .. and who want to upgrade their knowledge, Graduated students who want to re-oriente themselves to Naval Architecture and Ship Building, to finally find a rewarding job.

EMSHIP Job Opportunities

Target of EMSHIP is also to give job opportunities to their graduated students.
