specifically, ftp is a commonly used protocol for exchanging files over any
network that supports the tcp/ip protocol (such as the internet or an intranet).
there are two computers involved in an ftp transfer: a server and a client.
some files are stored in one of the computer where rabbit board is
connected. what ever the file, either it may be .pdf,.doc,.gif etc.if want to
download this file from one computer to another computer. then we have to
follow this commands.
8. now same as if you want to send or upload any file from your
system to the other system i.e from
client to the server.
9. then we have to follow these steps
10. a. ftp>send or ftp>put
b. it will ask you from which location the file has to be
uploaded
for eg:- ftp> local file c:\ documents and settings \ staff \desktop \ sajid
\ london.gif
c. and also we have to specify the where the file has to
be downloaded on other system.
d. for eg:- ftp> remote file (give the file name)
ftp> remote file sajid.gif
e. now the file london.gif is being uploaded from client
system and stored as sajid.gif in server system.
11. not only this two commands we can also see the files
on the server by typing "dir"
12. we can also create directory on the client as mkdir
13. we can also list the files by using the commands "ls".
14. we can also know on which directory we are working
presently by typing the command "pwd".
so this are the steps which i had done to configure the rabbit 3000 as a
ftp server and also downloading, uploading the files from or to the server
and the client and also vice versa.
