As discussed, I have recently registered a company in the Philippines through which I intend to import products such as yours and distribute these products to the more prominent supermarket chains, with whom I have a very cordial relationship. At our meeting on 10/06/2011 you requested me to articulate my future plans and forward them to you in order for you to assess my suitability to be appointed as a Dilmah distributor. Please find attached a basic plan for the manner in which I hope to commence and continue my business activities over the next few years. Should the plans described therein be acceptable to your organization, I would be obliged to present you with a detailed plan for my future operations.

A. Comparison of Dilmah Distributor Criteria & Reid International Trading capabilities.


Dilmah Distributor criteria 1. The company needs to have the necessary infrastructure for importation, logistics and distribution of the Brand. 2. Resources to finance the importation, sales and marketing of the Brand 3. A team of professionals who will have contacts with retail customers, sales and merchandising teams. 4. Ideally, a track record with marketing and sales of FMCG brands. Reid International Trading (RIT) Capabilities RIT does not possess comprehensive infrastructure at present. RIT is prepared to commence operations with a start-up capital of PHP 3,000,000(approx. US $ 69,000) RIT does not possess a large team of professionals. However, we do possess close contacts with the SM Supermarket chain. RIT is a start-up operation. Comments The operating model for the initial period is detailed in Section (A) below This is projected as adequate start-up capital as per sales projections detailed in Section B Utilising the cordial relations between RIT and the SM chain, we hope to work with the inhouse sales, promotion and merchandising teams to create a market for Dilmah branded tea.

1. Year 1 - RIT to work solely with the SM Supermarket chain to create an awareness of the Dilmah brand and develop demand for its teas. - RIT to collate orders from the SM Supermarket chain and place orders with Dilmah in Sri Lanka on a monthly basis. - RIT to store products in its own warehouse and distribute as and when necessary. - Towards the end of year RIT to initiate discussion with the 7-Eleven group for positioning of Dilmah products within its chain. 2. Year 2 - RIT to continue to work with the SM Supermarket chain to increase awareness of the Dilmah brand and develop demand for its teas. - RIT to commence work with the 7-Eleven chain to create an awareness of the Dilmah brand and develop demand for its teas. - RIT to recruit 04 fulltime(03 sales/distribution + 01 admin) personnel. - RIT to collate orders from the SM Supermarket and 7-Eleven chain and place orders with Dilmah in Sri Lanka on a monthly basis. - RIT to store products in its own warehouse and distribute as and when necessary. - Towards the end of year RIT to initiate discussion with the Robinson group for positioning of Dilmah products within its chain. 3. Year 3 - 5 - RIT to continue to work with the SM Supermarket and 7-Eleven chains to increase awareness of the Dilmah brand and develop demand for its teas. - RIT to commence work with the Robinson group to create an awareness of the Dilmah brand and develop demand for its teas. - RIT to recruit 03 additional fulltime(01 sales/distribution + 01 admin + 01 merchandising/promotions) personnel. - RIT to maintain a reasonable stock in its warehouse for quick dispatch - SM Supermarket, 7-Eleven and Robinson to place orders with RIT who will then place requirement with Dilmah in Sri Lanka on a monthly/bi-weekly basis. - RIT to store products in its own warehouse and distribute as and when necessary.
