THERE IS NO HOPE OF PERFECT RESEARCH

Research can be defined as scientific or scholarly investigations especially study and experiment aimed at the discovery, interpretation or application of facts, theories or laws. (Allen 1188). Hornby expresses it as: Careful study or investigation, especially in order to discover new facts or information. Thus research is clearly a search for knowledge, or a systematic investigation, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop new theories, usually using a scientific method. The crux of research lies in fetching information, opinions and ideas from peoples conscious and subconscious. Now the concern is that, can perfection be anticipated in the research methods and results. The word perfection, being a relative term is not found in any standard literature with absolute flawlessness. And especially when human beings are the subject, precision and accuracy demands the margin of error. Our earth is believed to have begun from the scratch as a result of some natural process. We gradually learnt and devised the things in accordance with our requirements, aspirations and ideologies which paved the way to most astounding developments. The hit and trial method was followed to serve the purpose whenever things needed to be invented or discovered. Hence, the fallacy of this relative term is evident from the human history which entails numerous incidents of failures and rehearsals, consequently proving perfection unfit to the research processes. Imperfections are inherent in every research work; we are striving only to refine the processes. If it could be made an ideal, there would have been no reason for the explorations and intensive assessments. Sometimes the attempts to investigate bring forth marvels and a number of times, they turn out just mistakes and the one, who make more mistakes, is more exposed to favorable outcomes. Even if a research project follows the most advanced methodology and correct apparatus, still the canvasser cant guarantee the attainment of any conquest because its a matter of probability, wherein surety never exists. The main theme of research is imperfection, which is embedded in the very outset of every probing activity. Where the great mind himself is not sure of what he or she is doing, how his or her trial can be labeled as a perfect model?
