Troy, MI, October 18, 2011 -- The Michigan Wellness Council (MWC) will have its inaugural meeting to begin its statewide charge to centralize corporate health a nd wellness best practices Wednesday, November 9, 8-10 a.m., at Compuware Corpor ate Headquarters in Detroit. The featured speaker is Dee Edington, Ph.D., direct or of the University of Michigan Health Management Research Center. "Previously, businesses have not had the resources necessary to effectively impa ct health care costs across the entire spectrum of care," said Scott Foster, MWC chairman and president of Wellco, a leading Michigan-based corporate health and wellness consulting firm. "The Michigan Wellness Council is proud to be the fi rst to provide non-proprietary, non-profit resources to help businesses througho ut the state effectively control medical costs."
