Week II: Interactive Typography

Take your typographic design and expand it dynamically and interactively! Think about how to solve the issue of having to use three languages by adding time and interaction. How can you tell apart the different languages by a time-based or interactive distinction? What you ask: - Who uses it & what does she/he need? - which functionalities does it have? - How does it communicate? - Who uses it & what does she/he need? What you do: 1. design the concept 2. prove the concept through testing & documenting on spot 3. refine the concept 4. prove again though testing & documenting on spot What you need: - Paper, Cardboard, Scissors, Print-outs, Stencils etc. - Photo-camera (Video) - Projections, Light Research: Oskar Fischinger, Muriel Cooper, Paul Jeffrey Sharits (http://www.ubu.com/film/sharits.html ), Jenny Holzer, Gary Hill, David Small (MIT / Small Design Firm), Alex Gopher und Matthias Zentner, Saul bass (Motion Picture Sequences)
