For Whom Should We Be Praying?

I am relieved to know that you have not bought into all that dispensational approach to God's
Word. I was hoping you were further along in the revelation of Christ than to have the beast still
sitting on the throne trying to save a world which was created to be destroyed. I refer to the first
Adam and the whole world in him.

I could not agree with you more about God having His seven thousand. And God is certainly in
the process of bringing this age to its appointed consummation. I wonder though why you would
pray for the nations at this time. Here is Christ's prayer to his Father in this regard:

John 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour
is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as
many as thou hast given him.
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom thou hast sent.
John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to
do.
John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had
with thee before the world was.
John 17:6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world:
thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
John 17:7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have
received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that
thou didst send me.
John 17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me;
for they are thine.
John 17:10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to
thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may
be one, as we are.
Eternal life is knowing God through Christ. Christ does not pray for the world, He prays for His
elect. His prayer is that God will keep His elect through His name so they will be one as He and
His Father are one.

One means one in message and mind. That is how my wife and I are one. That is how we are one
with Christ, and that is how Christ is one with His father.

God truly has a symbolic 7000 who have not bowed the knee to Baal. When you say you "listen
to them all" I assume that you are saying that you try the spirits of all you listen to, to see
whether they are of that symbolic 7000. God's elect are elect from "before the world began:

2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works,
but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the
world began,
So the apostle Paul was elect of God in spite of the fact that he was still in Babylon, still killing
God's elect. We are all the seed of the serpent before we are the seed of the woman, just as surely
as we are all the first Adam before we are the second Adam.The same is true for God's " 7,000
who have not bowed the knee to Baal." They may very well be teaching lies, and false doctrines
one day and coming to see their total blindness the next day. That is what happened to Paul and
that is what happens to us all.

So just do what you are doing, G____. Let God be true and every man a liar. Try the spirits
because many false prophets have gone out into the world. The day will come when you will
indeed be the intercessor for the nations, but this is not that day, dispensationally speaking.

Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy
through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may
obtain mercy.
Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
We need to appreciate the fact that our election is at the expense of those who are not given eyes
to see or ears to hear. But don't waste time praying for the world and the nations which Christ has
come to destroy. We have no record of Christ praying for Caesar. We are told specifically:

"I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine."
Of course the whole world is God's, and He will bring it all to Himself at its appointed time. But
that appointed time will be after we have "broken them to shivers:"

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give
power over the nations:
Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be
broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
God is working, both with the "kingdom of God within you," and dispensationally. But the only
nation he is saving at this time, or ever, is His own nation. Yes we are to "Pray for our enemies:
Matt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them
that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
We are indeed to pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us, but our prayers should
be as was Christ's:
John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me
through their word;

2 Cor 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we
pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine."

Just some food for thought. When Christ tells us to "pray for those that dispitefully use you and
persecute you..." for what are we to pray?

1 Timothy 2, a chapter which makes God's intention of saving all so very clear has been sorely
misunderstood by many. Yes, God will save all, but this chapter is not urging us to pray for that
at this time. It is urging us to pray that those in authority will be moved to "live peaceably with
all men,' including God's elect.
1 Tim 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks, be made for all men;
1 Tim 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable
life in all godliness and honesty.
1 Tim 2:3 For this [is] good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1 Tim 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Paul exhorts us "that...supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all
men; For kings, and for all that are in authority;" For what reason are we to make these
supplications and prayers for all men and those in authority? Is it that the world might be saved?
No, that would conflict with this Truth:
1 Cor 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not
many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1 Cor 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God
hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1 Cor 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea,
and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1 Cor 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
The reason we are to offer intercessory prayers to God for all men and those in authority is not
for their salvation in this age, but " that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
and honesty."

Like Christ, Paul is not praying for the world, He is praying for God's elect. There are certain
things and certain people for whom we are told not to pray:
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he
shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that
he shall pray for it.
If you wonder what is this sin unto death then read Hebrews six. There are those who have
sinned such a sin. We certainly ought to want to know what is such a grave matter?

I hope this is of some help to you as you continue to pray for me and "all men," and listen to the
spirit of the Lord.
