Backgrounder

Launched in 2001, sexualityandu.ca is the ultimate Canadian web site committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information and education on sexual health. An initiative of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, the site's mandate is to provide guidance and advice to help individuals develop and maintain a healthy sexuality. Content on the site is developed through the direction and collaboration of a team of interdisciplinary health experts including obstetricians, gynaecologists, general practitioners, public health representatives and health educators. From contraception awareness to sexually transmitted infections, lifestyle choices to talking about sex, sexualityandu.ca takes a real life approach to the questions and issues that matter most to Canadians. With separate areas created specifically for different audiences - including parents, teachers and health care professionals - visitors are guaranteed to find information that is relevant to their needs.

For Teachers
Sexualityandu.ca can help you teach students about puberty, contraception, STI prevention and sexual well-being with a comprehensive, positive approach to sexuality. Several health, education and sexual health organizations contribute to the resources on this page. This web site is not able to cover all of the elements of a comprehensive approach to sexuality. Consequently, we have prepared lists in addition to the great tools for educators found on this page, of additional resources that can be accessed from this websites Resource Library (accessible from the Home Page).
Please note that SexualityandU.ca and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada are not responsible for, and do not necessarily endorse, content produced by other parties.
