Step 1
Put CD1 in the CDROM

Reboot the Server

Select Manual installation

Choose English Language and press OK

Choose English (US) Keyboard Map and press OK

Select Start Installation/Update and press OK

Select CDROM as source medium and press OK

Select English (US) as Language and click accept

Confirm Driver Activation for eg
I)USB Core Click OK
II)USB-UHCI Click OK
III)USB Storage Click OK
IV) Linux LVM driver module lvm-mod Click OK
V) ehci-hcd click OK

Installation Setting Window will appear
11a) Click partitioning -> select Custom partitioning - for Experts ->
1) Click Create
Select Primary Partition and press OK
Under file system option select ext3 Partition
Mount point /
Under Size Menu Start Cylinder 0 and
End Cylinder +6GB (To create 6 GB / Partition)
Click OK
2) Click Create
Select Primary Partition and press OK
Under file system option select swap Partition
Under Size Menu Start Cylinder (Don't Change)
End Cylinder + 1GB (Should be double of RAM)
Click OK
3) Similarly create other partitions (as /home, /var, /usr etc) according to
customer's requirements
4) After creating all partitions click Next
Step 14
During Installation Hardware will be detected.
Click Continue for all detected hardware
A Hardware Configuration window will appear.
. Select Graphics Card and click continue
. Select Colors and Resolution
. Set resolution to 800 X 600
. Click Next
. Click Finish
Network card configuration
Login as root
Run YaST from command
Click Network devices and then Network card
It will show RTL8139
Click Change and then Edit
Check Static IP address and give IP address and subnet mask
Click Routing and give Default Gateway
Then click next and Finish
Services
Login as root
Run YaST from command
Now select Network services and then Network service(inetd)
Select Enable all services
Click Status for all services and in that select activate all services
Then Finish
Printer
Login as root
Run YaST from command
Goto Hardware and click printer
If Printer is not detected automatically select configure
Selct Parallel printer
Selcect path /dev/lp0 which is by default displayed
Now give Name of Printer and Description and then give location /dev/lp0
Then select manufacturer (EPSON) and Model (Dot Matrix)
Click Finish
