We will be using Oracle 10g express and SQL Developer as the DBMS and IDE for this class. Both are free and can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com. Follow the instructions under 'class documents' to learn how to install this software. V. INSTRUCTOR EXPECTATIONS

Frequently Asked Questions: How quickly will you respond to emails? I will respond to emails to my Wilmington University account within 24 hours. I will monitor my account more often during the first week of class (in case there are setup issues, etc). What is the best method to contact you? I plan on doing weekly grading on Tuesday night for weekly assignments. I will monitor discussion boards during the entire week. VI. STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

How often do I expect students to log in to the course? At least once a week, but the assignments given will require participation. Most likely 3 or 4 times a week will suffice. What is the policy for late assignments? Part of every assignment's rubric is based on timeliness. 20% of each assignment's grade is based on timeliness. If the assignment is 1 week late, you will be docked 50% of the assignment portion of the grade. If the assignment is more than one week late, you will receive 0% for the assignment portion of the grade. Can I work ahead? Yes, the entire course is loaded, so if you want to work ahead, you may. Please make sure to do the course sequentially (do not pick and choose assignments). There are some assignments (discussion board) that will require your attention each week, as you will be responding to other student's posts. For these assignments, you may NOT work ahead
