傳 4:1 我又轉念、見日光之下所行的一切欺壓‧看哪、受欺壓的流淚、且無人安慰‧欺壓
他們的有勢力、也無人安慰他們。

現代中文：我又察看這世上一切不公平的事。被欺壓的人流淚哭泣，沒有人援助他們。他們得不
到援助，因為欺壓他們的人有權有勢。
呂振中：我又看、日光之下所行的一切欺壓：看哪，受欺壓的流淚，無人安慰！欺壓他們的、手
裏有勢力，也無人安慰！於是，我轉向觀察在日光之下一切欺凌壓迫的事。
當代聖經：我看見受壓迫的淚流滿面，沒有人安慰他們；然而，那些恃勢凌人的雖然氣燄沖天，
卻也一樣沒有人關懷他們。
新譯本：我又看見日光之下所發生一切欺壓的事：受欺壓的流淚，卻無人安慰他們；欺壓他們的，
手裏握著權柄，因此無人安慰受欺壓的。
ASV：Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and, behold, the tears of such
as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they
had no comforter.
NIV： Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the
oppressed-- and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors-- and they have no
comforter.
Amplified Bible （AMP）： THEN I returned and considered all the oppressions that are
practiced under the sun: And I beheld the tears of the oppressed, and they had no
comforter; and on the side of their oppressors was power, but they [too] had no
comforter.
The Message: Next, I turned my attention to all the outrageous violence that takes place on this planet – the
tears of the victims, no one to comfort them; the iron grip of the oppressors, no one to rescue the victims from
them.
JSB: I further observed all the oppression, that goes on under the sun: the tears of the oppressed, with none to
comfort them; and the power of their oppressors- with none to comfort them.

傳 4:4 我又見人為一切的勞碌、和各樣靈巧的工作、就被鄰舍嫉妒‧這也是虛空、也是捕
風。

現代中文：我又發現：人勞碌工作，追求功名，是因為羨慕鄰人。這也是空虛，也是捕風。
呂振中：我又看一切勞碌和各樣工作上的技巧都是人對鄰舍羨慕之表現：這也是虛空，也是捕風。
當代聖經：人極盡所能、費盡心思地工作，原是出於與人競爭的心。這也是虛空，有如捕風一樣。
新譯本：我看見各樣的勞碌和各樣精巧的工作，都是出於人與人彼此的競爭。這也是虛空，也是
捕風。
RSV： Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity
and a striving after wind.
NASB：I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a man and
his neighbor. This too is vanity and striving after wind.
NIV：And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man's envy of his neighbor. This too is
meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

The Message: Then I observed all the work and ambition motivated by envy. What a waste! Smoke. And
spitting into the wind.
JSB: I have also noted that all labor and skilful enterprise come from men’s envy of each other – another
futility and pursuit of wing!

傳 4:5 愚昧人抱著手、喫自己的肉。

現代中文：有人說：「愚蠢人遊手好閒，讓自己餓死。 」
呂振中：愚頑人抱著手，喫自己的肉。
當代聖經：那抱著雙手不作工的，到頭來只得吃自己的肉。
YLT：The fool is clasping his hands, and eating his own flesh:
BBE：The foolish man, folding his hands, takes the flesh of his body for food.
NIV：The fool folds his hands and ruins himself.
The Message: The fool sits back and take it easy, His sloth is slow suicide.
JSB: [True,]
The fool folds his hands together
And has to eat his own flesh.

傳 4:6 滿了一把、得享安靜、強如滿了兩把、勞碌捕風。

現代中文：不過，拿一小把而心安理得，遠勝過雙手捧滿卻勞碌，捕風。
呂振中：滿了一把、安安靜靜地享受，勝過滿了兩捧，而勞碌，而捕風。
當代聖經：人辛勤工作，卻徒勞無功，倒不如安然憩息。
新譯本：一掌盛滿安寧，勝過兩手抓滿勞碌捕風。
DBY: Better is a handful with quietness, than both hands full with labor and pursuit of the wind.`
RSV: Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.
NASB; One hand full of rest is better than two fists full of labor and striving after wind.
NIV: Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.
The Message: One handful of peaceful repose is better than two fistful of worried work – More spitting into
the wind.
JSB: [But no less truly,]
Better is a handful of gratification
Than two fistfuls of labor which is pursuit of wind.
