C.F.W. WALTHER - 200th ANNIVERSARY REMEMBRANCE

PRAYER UPON ENTERING CHURCH
Lord of the Church, You called me to be Your special child in the waters of Holy Baptism. By Your Holy Spirits power You use me to be a witness of the love that You have for me in Your Son, Jesus Christ. With thanksgiving I remember those who shared the faith with me so that I might have the assurance of sins forgiven and eternal life. Grant that I trust that You will give to me the words to share with those who ask me about my hope. In Jesus name. Amen

WELCOME
Welcome to everyone gathered here this morning, members and visitors alike, to hear Gods Word, give thanks to Him, call upon His name and then depart from this place to be a witness of His love in what we say and do. It is great to have you here today! We ask that everyone fill out an attendance card found at each pew and return it to an usher during the Offering. Children are welcome in our Service and will be invited to come forward for the Childrens Message. You may accompany them if you would like. A nursery for infants and toddlers is located downstairs for those who have need. Restrooms are also located downstairs in this building or across the bridge on this floor level before entering the fellowship hall. If you have any questions please ask one of our greeters or ushers. Please worship with us again!

HOLY COMMUNION
Holy Communion will be celebrated in the 8:15 Service today. In this sacrament we receive Christs very body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Those who are not members of Grace are asked to speak with our Pastor before partaking of this sacrament so that the unity of faith might be established. Thank you for honoring this request.

AS WE GATHER
The celebration of the 200 anniversary of the birth of C. F. W. Walther affords an opportunity for the congregations and people of The Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod and others to express thanks to God for the leadership provided by a very special man of God. Some church historians have suggested that were it not for the efforts of Dr. Walther in keeping together a disillusioned and despairing group of German people who had immigrated to America filled with hope and promise, the church body which this congregation belongs to would never have materialized. It is appropriate for the people who claim the heritage of Walther to remember his work and express thanks to God for his life and work as Pastor, Professor, and Seminary and Synod President.

MON - FRI: MONDAY: TUESDAY: WEDNESDAY:

FRIDAY: NEXT SUNDAY:

TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL, the lesson recalls the wonderful account of Moses and the burning bush (Exodus 2:114:31). Just as God had Moses remove the sandals from his feet, God in Christ removes our sins from us, making us fit to approach God and stand in His presence. Talk with your child about who makes us holy before God. Ask him or her to tell you the story about Moses and the burning bush. What did Moses have to do, and why, in order to be in Gods presence? Review the Third Commandment and its meaning from the catechism. SUNDAY BIBLE CLASS Pastor Walters Bible Class meets at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday morning in Parker Hall. Pastor is leading a study on the book of Exodus. THE YOUNG WOMEN OF GRACE will meet for Bible study each Sunday morning in the classroom downstairs in the church. Bible study materials are provided, and child care is available in the church nursery. Contact Gina Junkans for more information. DEADLINE for November Newsletter is today!
