INTRODUCTION Pakistan have large road network of 259, 758km of which 8,318km are National Highway And 2,027km are Motorways. The National Highway pass through major cities are backbone of our economy.. In developing country like Pakistan, the poor are disproportionately affected, with most of the victims being pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclists and passenger of public transport riders and with more than half of them between ages of 15 to 44 years. Young road users are particularly more vulnerable. Karachi is one of the metropolitan city of Pakistan. It has the vast transportation network between several town and zones.

Method of calculation of delay cost in term of Rupee Assumption Fuel cost Rs 89 per liter If a vehicle travel in following conditions then. 1 mint (travelling) = 1 Km 1 Liter travelling = 50 Km The cost of 1 Km = Rs 1.78/=

Formula Delay in term of cost= Time (mint) x 1.78

Delay Problem at the intersection. The most important delay cause at the intersection that are under observation is congestion and signal timing. The signal timing that is currently operating the traffic of roads is not design for the current scenario. Due to growth in traffic congestion and number of vehicles in Karachi city the current signal timing cause delay problem at the intersection. Some important parameter is: Increasingly traffic Number of users Un-revise Signal timing Road condition Buses issue

Maintain the road network Maintain the operational process of buses Revise the signal cycle timing Proper control on traffic laws Introducing the Mass transit system
