New Law Opportunities Old Law Challenges

The first half of the presentation will highlight the recently enacted federal tax law, including the new estate and gift tax exemptions, portability, and the planning implications of these and other concepts and also the uncertainties created by the two year life of the new legislation. The second half hour will focus on the impact Will clauses relating to taxes and expenses have on allocating these charges among the heirs. Also discussed will be the tax consequences of various ways of phrasing powers of withdrawal and appointment.
