finished size 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 54)" bust circumference. this is an oversized garment that is pulled in at the waist for the first 4 sizes. sizes 46"54" waist ribbing is not as deep as other sizes. garment shown is size 34" bust. Yarn south West trading company terra (50% bamboo, 50% cotton; 120 yd ): #424 pink topaz, [110m]/134 oz [50 g]; 9(10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21) balls. hook sizes f/5 (3.75 mm), d/3 (3.25 mm). adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge. notions stitch markers (m); yarn needle. gauge 12 sts and 10 rows = 4" (blocked) in herringbone st (see stitch guide) with larger hook.

Worked in one piece from sleeve edge to sleeve edge, this easy-wearing sweater showcases the beauty of the herringbone stitch. cuffs tame the batwing sleeves, and a deep waistband is flattering to many figures. the bamboo/cotton-blend yarn, perfect for a transitional season, gives the sweater lovely drape. notes Sweater is crocheted from left cuff to right cuff in rows, then seamed under arms and on each side. Deep ribbing for sleeve and hem is worked after garment is seamed. Row gauge is very important for this garment. Because garment is worked to precise measurements, inch measurements are shown as decimals instead of fractions throughout. Foundation Single Crochet (fsc) Start with a slipknot on hook, chain 2 (Figure 1), insert hook in second chain from hook, pull up loop, yarn over and draw through 1loop (the chain, Figure 2), yarn over and draw through 2loops (the single crochet), 1 single crochet with its own chain stitch (shaded) at the bottom (Figure 3), *insert hook under 2loops of the chain stitch (shaded) of last stitch and pull up loop, yarn over and draw through 1 loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops; repeat from * for length of foundation (Figure5).
