Going to Texas!!
We are so extremely excited, humbled, and in awe of God and His blessings toward us and we wanted to share with you all that we have received a call from our GFA leaders and mentors to put the house up for sale and get ready to move! The Information Technology Department where Dave will be working is in huge need of help so our leaders have asked us to come and help fill this position even earlier than what we had anticipated. This is so wonderful to us as we have been praying for God to send us soon. Please know that we are still in need of pledged monthly or yearly support. We are not fully supported yet and we need your help. Currently we have less than half of our monthly support pledged. A big thank you to those of you that have sent special gifts as well as those of you who have so faithfully pledged and given to us during this time. We would also like to continue to ask you if there is anyone that you know that might be interested in learning more about the ministry of GFA and what God is doing to reach those who have NEVER heard His name, please share with us as we would love to be able to contact them about how they can help! At prebooked Ocfirst sent we have meetings the whole month of tober as well as the week in November so we will continue to be raising support as we wait for our home to sell. Please pray that we see much fruit from these meetings even before we get to Texas!

GOSPEL FOR ASIA - OCTOBER 2011

We cannot thank you enough for your prayers and gifts of support - without you, it would not be possible for us to go where God has called! We continue to look forward to sharing with you on a more regular basis what God is doing!!

Who are the Dalits?

They are approximately 300 million people who are deemed "untouchable" and comprise the lowest rung of the Hindu caste system. The word Dalit literally means "broken", "crushed" or "oppressed". In Hindu society, Dalits are at the lowest rung of the ladder. The vast majority of them are impoverished, exploited and powerless to change their fate. Considered to be polluted or unclean, they are called "Untouchables". If they were to touch someone of a higher caste, the upper-caste person would supposedly become contaminated. This is why many Dalits are not allowed to drink from community wells and are discourage from attending schools with other students.

Praise and Prayer Requests

Praise God that He has seen fit to send us to GFA!! We are so excited :) Praise God for the new meetings we have scheduled with churches and for new support! Pray for our home to sell quickly and for the transition and move to Texas. Continue to pray for new support to come in and that we would be 100% supported very soon. Pray against discouragement, distractions, and Satans attacks. Pray that we be faithful to the call that God has placed on our lives and that we continue to seek Him wholly.

A Day in the Life of a Dalit

Covered from head to toe in human waste, a bare-chested man climbs from the sewer in the center of a crowded street. As people cringe at the stench, he walks through the streets looking for water to clean his body. This is a day in the life of a Dalit. A small girl walks barefoot around a half-starved dog lying in her path. She picks her way over garbage and sewersodden ground as she approaches the rag hut that is her home. She is unaware that life could be lived any other way. This is a day in the life of a Dalit. A man's bare hands lift the body of the dead woman on to her funeral pyre, Jobs allotted to the 300 million Dalits of Asia include unclogging sewers, making bricks in scorching heat, washflower petals surrounding her clothing. After he lays the corpse on the wood and lights the fire, he waits to collect the cooled ashes and scatter them into the river that flows beside the pyre. This is a day in the life of a Dalit. ing soiled clothing and working as meagerly paid field hands. Because of their poverty and low social status, Dalits do not have adequate access to food, housing, clothing, education or health care. This is the life of the Dalits. Bonded labor is prevalent among Dalits, even their children, who often work in slave-like conditions to pay off family debt. With estimates as high as 150 million working children, India has the largest child labor force in the world.

Hope for the Dalits

God has a different future in mind for these forgotten and oppressed people. He loves and values them. This is the hope of the Dalits. Today, Gospel for Asia is committed to sharing with the Dalits the message of His salvation and redemption. Gospel for Asia is reaching the Dalits by

Teaching adults to read Giving their children an education and a future Touching the Untouchables with the love of Christ. Establishing fellowships among "the least of these" Sharing with the Dalits the message of God's salvation and redemption.

And today hundreds of fellowships are being established, filled with new Christians praising Jesus for true freedom found only in Him.
